Chapter 52 - Chapter 52. Friends Introduction

The first light of dawn was a soft, grey ribbon seeping through the window when Tang Yuehua stirred. A dull, pleasant ache radiated through her body, a tangible memory of the night before. For a moment, she felt a flicker of the same nervousness, but then she felt the warm, solid weight of an arm draped possessively over her waist, and the steady, rhythmic breathing of the man behind her.

She opened her eyes slowly. The room was bathed in the gentle, muted light of early morning. She turned her head carefully, not wanting to wake him. His face was relaxed in sleep, all the sharp lines softened, his lips slightly parted. A wave of warmth spread through her chest. This man was hers.

As if sensing her gaze, his eyelids fluttered open lazy smile spread across his face. "You're awake?" he murmured, his voice a low, raspy rumble that vibrated through her back.

"Mm… I just woke up." she whispered back, her cheeks flushing. She felt shy, exposed in the bright light of day in a way she hadn't under the cover of darkness.

He tightened his arm around her, pulling her back flush against his chest. He nuzzled his face into her hair, inhaling deeply. "You smell incredible," he said, his lips brushing against the sensitive skin of her neck.

A soft sigh escaped her. "You…"

He chuckled, a low, throaty sound. "Still shy?" He pressed a soft, open-mouthed kiss to her shoulder. "After last night?"

Her blush deepened.

His hand began to move, tracing slow, deliberate circles on her stomach. The touch was light, almost innocent, but it sent a jolt of awareness straight through her.

He gently rolled her onto her back, propping himself up on an elbow to look down at her. The sheet pooled around her waist, leaving her upper body bare to his gaze. Tang Yuehua instinctively moved to cover herself, but he caught her hand, lacing his fingers through hers.

"Don't," he said softly. His eyes roamed over her. "You're even more beautiful in the sunlight."

He leaned down and captured her lips in a kiss. It was a kiss that said, 'I'm still here. This is real.'

When he pulled back, her eyes were shimmering. "What are you thinking about?" he asked, his thumb stroking her cheek.

"Just… that this is real," she admitted, her voice barely a whisper. "That I'm here with you."

"This is very real," he confirmed, his voice dropping to that low, intimate tone that made her stomach flutter. He shifted, his leg sliding between hers, the sheet doing little to hide the renewed interest of his body. "And I'm not nearly done with you yet."

Tang Yuehua's breath hitched, a fresh wave of nervousness and anticipation washing over her. "Yan…"

He silenced her with another kiss, this one deeper, more insistent. "Let me love you, Yuehua," he murmured against her lips. "Slowly. Gently. In the morning light."

He didn't wait for an answer, knowing her body would give him the permission her voice was too shy to grant. His hands began their slow, patient exploration again, relearning every curve, every valley. Her soft moans were quieter than the night before, softer sighs of pleasure as he moved over her, entering her with a slow, deliberate thrust that drew a gasp from both of them.

The morning sun climbed higher as they moved together, a slow, unhurried dance of passion and intimacy. Every touch, every kiss, every whispered word was a promise, a declaration of a love that was no longer a secret, but a shared reality, as bright and as real as the morning sun filling their room.

After lingering in each other's arms a little longer, they finally rose from the bed. Tang Yuehua wrapped herself in a light robe and followed Wang Yan to the small kitchen area of their new home.

Wang Yan rolled up his sleeves. "Sit," he said lightly. "Today, I'll cook."

Tang Yuehua blinked in surprise. "You can cook?"

He gave her a sideways glance. "Do you think I survived all these years on cultivation alone?"

She smiled softly and sat nearby, watching him move with calm confidence, she stood to help — handing him utensils, passing ingredients, or tasting the broth when he asked. Their shoulders brushed once or twice as they worked side by side. It was nothing extraordinary, just a simple act of preparing a meal together, yet it carried a quiet closeness that made her heart feel warm.

When they finally sat across from each other, steam rising between them, Wang Yan looked at her thoughtfully.

"Today," he said, placing his chopsticks down, "I want to introduce you to my friends."

Tang Yuehua paused slightly, her fingers tightening around her chopsticks. "Your friends?"

He nodded. "We can't go to the Iron Guard base openly. But we can go to Liu Ming's residence. He and Shuo Longer live there."

He continued in the same composed tone, "I'll send word to Zhao Qing and Chen Yu as well. They can come there."

She lowered her gaze for a moment. "They already know about me, don't they?"

Wang Yan gave a faint smile. "They've known for a while."

A soft blush appeared on her cheeks, but she didn't retreat this time. Instead, she lifted her head and nodded. "Then… let's go."

.....

Inside Liu Ming's house, four people were already present—Liu Ming, Chen Yu, Zhao Qing, and Shuo Linger.

They were in the middle of a casual conversation when the door opened and Wang Yan stepped inside with Tang Yuehua beside him. The moment they noticed the two, the atmosphere in the room brightened immediately.

Liu Ming was the first to react. He stood up with a faint smile, and Chen Yu and Zhao Qing quickly followed. Even Shuo Linger, who had been seated quietly to the side, turned her gaze toward them and rose to her feet.

The four of them walked forward to greet them.

Wang Yan stopped a few steps inside the room and looked toward Tang Yuehua.

"Yuehua," he said calmly, "let me introduce everyone."

He gestured toward the man standing in front.

"This is Liu Ming."

Then he pointed toward the other two.

"Chen Yu… Zhao Qing."

Finally, his gaze shifted toward the woman standing nearby.

"And this is Shuo Linger."

Tang Yuehua nodded politely to each of them.

"It's nice to meet you all," she said softly.

Wang Yan then turned to his friends and spoke in the same calm tone.

"And this is Tang Yuehua."

The moment her name was spoken, Shuo Linger stepped forward with a warm smile. Looking at Tang Yuehua, she said gently, "I'm a few years older than you, so you can just call me Sister Linger."

Tang Yuehua nodded without hesitation.

"Alright, Sister Linger."

Shuo Linger laughed softly at the response, clearly pleased, and the atmosphere in the room quickly became relaxed as the group gathered together.
