Inside the Canine Hall, Ruofeng wore a faint smile.
The sled dog standing before him had once been over twenty meters tall. Now, however, it was only a little more than three meters in height. This was one of the canine clan's unique ninjutsu—the ability to freely control their own body size. It was said that this technique had originally been developed by Asura Ōtsutsuki and later gifted to the canine clan.
The sled dog spoke respectfully, "Master… because of decades of decline, many of Beast King Mountain's original functions have been forgotten. If you wish to restore them, it will take a great deal of time and careful cultivation."
Ruofeng nodded slightly. "Aside from the medicinal fields, what other functions are there?"
The sled dog explained, "The canine clan is divided into many specialized roles, which together form the various systems of Beast King Mountain.
"First, the butterfly dogs. Although they now handle logistics, in the past, they were responsible for intelligence gathering. However, Beast King Mountain's intelligence network has long since disappeared. This will need to be rebuilt from scratch.
"Second, the sheepdogs handle logistics and support. Originally, they possessed powerful healing abilities and could even transfer refined chakra directly to their master. These abilities will also need to be retrained.
"Third, the military dogs possess exceptional sensory and olfactory abilities, making them ideal trackers.
"In short, each breed within the canine clan has its own unique strengths. Unfortunately, with the death of our predecessors, all of these systems must be rebuilt slowly through training.
"The one thing we can be grateful for is our numbers. When a summoning clan gains intelligence and begins cultivating natural chakra, their reproduction rate drops drastically. Perhaps because Madara Uchiha sealed our wisdom, our breeding speed increased instead. Our current population is ten times what it once was—over ten thousand dogs in total.
"Moreover, regarding that tiger organ earlier, although most of it was given to you, we kept a small portion. That part can enhance our reproductive capabilities."
As the sled dog spoke, Ruofeng's eyes flashed with surprise. He realized how little he truly understood about the canine clan. No wonder the Canine Sage had once claimed they could surpass the Three Great Sage Regions—such confidence was clearly not empty boasting.
But when he thought about what he had stored away, the corner of his mouth twitched. "If it can enhance your reproduction, why give it to me?"
The sled dog narrowed its eyes, its expression resolute. "Because of loyalty. Master freed the canine clan from its seal and allowed us to evolve. In the future, we will grow even stronger under your guidance. Therefore, all thirteen thousand six hundred members of the canine clan are loyal to you alone. In the future, we will only be loyal to your descendants. No one else will ever earn our allegiance.
"That is why we offered you this item that enhances reproduction. We hope you will build your own lineage."
Its gaze was filled with unwavering devotion.
Ruofeng fell silent. He understood the loyalty of dogs better than anyone. Once they acknowledged a master, they would never betray them.
Still, the idea that the sled dog wanted him to produce a large number of descendants so the canine clan could serve only his bloodline left him speechless.
After all, he was only six years old. Even when he eventually married, building a powerful clan of his own would be no simple task. Thinking further, he could not help but wonder how Asura Ōtsutsuki and Indra Ōtsutsuki had managed to create the Senju and Uchiha clans in the first place. Neither of them seemed the type capable of producing endless offspring. Yet somehow, those two bloodlines had flourished. And as for the Canine Sage, founding the entire canine clan single-handedly—Ruofeng could only feel admiration.
After a moment of thought, Ruofeng said, "In the future, I'll find a way to solve the canine clan's reproduction problem. As for restoring your various systems, tell me whatever you need. Beast King Mountain continues to absorb those foreign materials—it will eventually become a true treasure land, capable of growing any medicinal plant. I'll prepare seeds and bring them here for cultivation. Under my hands, Beast King Mountain will regain its former glory."
The sled dog's eyes shone with gratitude. "Thank you, Master."
Ruofeng said nothing more. With such a loyal clan at his side, words felt unnecessary.
Turning his gaze toward the medicinal cauldron in the distance, Ruofeng spoke softly, "The medicinal bath from Mount Myoboku is considered among the finest in the ninja world. It's a pity we lack naturally refined toad oil. However, I have something that surpasses it."
As he spoke, he slowly lifted a porcelain bottle. Inside was the Foundation Elixir, a medicinal liquid from another world—a low-grade pill refined into liquid form. Ruofeng knew its potency all too well. When the legendary alchemist Yao Lao had refined it for Xiao Yan, even he had endured intense pain during its use.
Ruofeng was confident, but not reckless. Compared to Xiao Yan, his current physique was far weaker. If Xiao Yan had suffered, what would happen to him?
That was why, despite having obtained this bottle long ago, he had never dared to use it. He feared his body would not withstand its power. Even though this elixir was not personally refined by Yao Lao, it still originated from a world far beyond the Naruto realm.
Originally, Ruofeng had planned to wait until he was eight years old before using it. But after facing repeated assassination attempts, he realized that even in Konoha, absolute safety did not exist. True security came only from one's own strength. He refused to relive that helplessness—the terror of having his life controlled by others. The memory of that jonin who could have killed him effortlessly still haunted him. If not for the ocular technique sealed within his eyes by his father, he would have already been dead.
So he had to grow stronger.
Even if it meant risking everything.
Fortunately, he had just acquired a medicinal cauldron from the Perfect World. With its stabilizing effects, and with the support of the canine clan inside the Canine Hall, he finally felt confident enough to attempt it.
Before long, a small sheepdog trotted over. "Master… the medicinal bath is ready. This cauldron is incredible—it absorbs the essence of the herbs and greatly amplifies the bath's effects."
Ruofeng smiled and gently patted its head. "This cauldron is indeed remarkable. If you ever need to refine medicine in the future, you can use it as well."
After all, sheepdogs specialized in healing techniques, much like medical ninja, and frequently worked with medicinal herbs.
Ruofeng then turned his attention to the cauldron. Carefully, he tipped the porcelain bottle and let a single drop of the Foundation Elixir fall into the bath.
He dared not use more. Yet even that one drop was enough to cause a dramatic change.
The faintly red liquid instantly turned emerald green.
The green medicinal bath shimmered softly, releasing a rich, intoxicating fragrance.
