Seeing the snow was a good sign we were close to Redwood. It started as thin flurries and quickly turned into a thick, white blanket covering the trees and the road. Then we passed the signboard: Welcome To Redwood. I smiled, the excitement bubbling up in my chest. I couldn't help myself, putting my head outside the window to feel the bite of the cold. Even if the entire car rooftop was wide open, with the snow falling inside the car and landing on the leather seats, my head was still out. I wanted to breathe it all in.
