Chapter 44 - Episode 44 – Project Genesis

11:16 AM – City Crossroad

Smoke from the sudden blackout still floated in the air. Traffic lights were dead. Cars were frozen mid-road.

In the middle of the intersection stood Sasmita, surrounded by masked Axis operatives.

But the situation had already flipped.

Hidden tactical units silently surrounded the entire street.

Above them, two surveillance drones hovered like silent predators.

The Axis team realized the truth.

They were trapped.

One of the operatives whispered nervously, "Sir… we're surrounded."

Their leader looked around calmly.

Across the road, a black SUV stopped.

The door opened.

Srikant stepped out.

His expression was cold and controlled.

Beside him walked Rudra Sen.

The Axis leader slowly smiled.

"So… the king finally arrives."

Srikant ignored the comment and looked at Sasmita first.

"Are you okay?"

She nodded.

"Of course."

Then she looked at the Axis leader.

"But your plan didn't work."

The man chuckled softly.

"Oh… it worked perfectly."

Srikant's eyes narrowed.

"What did you do?"

The man lifted a small communication device.

"While you were busy protecting her…"

He pressed a button.

"Your vault opened."

11:17 AM – Estate Security Room

Back at the estate headquarters, every screen was flashing emergency warnings.

The central vault system had been breached.

Security officers tried desperately to regain control.

But the system was locked.

Encrypted.

Hijacked.

Rudra saw the alert on his tablet and cursed under his breath.

"They accessed the Genesis file."

Srikant's jaw tightened.

"That file was never supposed to leave the vault."

Sasmita looked confused.

"What exactly is Project Genesis?"

For a moment, both men stayed silent.

Then Rudra spoke slowly.

"It's not just a file."

"It's the most dangerous intelligence archive in the world."

What is Project Genesis?

Years ago, Srikant secretly built a hidden intelligence database.

Not about criminals.

But about powerful people.

Politicians.

Corporate tycoons.

Military leaders.

Secret alliances.

Illegal operations.

Everything.

Every secret.

Every weakness.

Every hidden crime.

Genesis contained evidence that could destroy global power structures.

Sasmita stared at them in shock.

"You built a database that could bring down governments?"

Srikant answered calmly.

"It was meant to prevent wars."

Rudra added quietly,

"Instead… it became the most valuable weapon on the planet."

11:18 AM – Crossroad

The Axis leader laughed.

"You see the problem now?"

Srikant stepped closer.

"You don't understand Genesis."

"Oh, we understand perfectly," the man replied.

He slowly removed his mask.

A scar crossed his cheek.

"Because Sovereign helped design it."

Srikant froze for half a second.

That was impossible.

Genesis had been built by only three people.

Himself.

Rudra.

And one more person who was supposed to be dead.

Rudra's voice turned quiet.

"Then Sovereign is…"

Before he could finish—

The man spoke.

"Yes."

"He's the third architect."

Silence fell over the road.

Sasmita's heart started beating faster.

"Then why steal it?"

The man smiled again.

"Because now… we control it."

Meanwhile – Unknown Location

Inside a massive underground control center, dozens of screens glowed in the darkness.

Sovereign stood in front of the main console.

Beside him, Meera Vashisht watched the Genesis file decrypt slowly.

Line after line of classified intelligence appeared.

Government secrets.

Blackmail data.

Hidden crimes.

Meera looked impressed.

"This is bigger than we expected."

Sovereign nodded slowly.

"With Genesis… we don't fight power."

"We control it."

He turned toward the screen showing Srikant standing at the crossroad.

"For years he protected the world."

A cold smile appeared on his face.

"Now the world will hunt him."

Back at the Crossroad

The Axis operatives suddenly surrendered.

Weapons dropped to the ground.

Their leader raised his hands.

"Mission complete."

Police sirens could be heard in the distance.

But Srikant didn't care about the captured operatives anymore.

His mind was somewhere else.

Genesis was in the wrong hands.

And that meant global chaos.

Sasmita walked toward him quietly.

"You look worried."

Srikant looked at her seriously.

"For the first time… I am."

She placed a hand on his arm.

"Then we fix it."

Rudra looked at both of them.

"It won't be easy."

"Genesis contains secrets that powerful people would kill to protect."

Sasmita replied firmly,

"Then we expose the truth before Axis uses it."

Srikant stared at her for a moment.

Then he nodded slowly.

"You're right."

"This war ends now."

Final Scene

Far away, inside the Axis control center…

Genesis finished decrypting.

A single file appeared on the screen.

Highlighted in red.

File Name: Sasmita

Meera looked surprised.

"There's a file about her?"

Sovereign opened it.

His expression suddenly changed.

Interesting.

Very interesting.

He whispered softly,

"So that's the secret…"

He looked at Srikant's image on the screen again.

"You really never told her, did you?"
