Chapter 6 - Bearing Hatred Towards A First-Degree Aristocrat

"Well," Cassie backed away, "what are you waiting for? Dig in!"

"Thank you for the meal."

With that, Alex began digging in, continuously munching on the food. It was amazing, tasted spectacular, and it was exactly what he needed.

"One of your bowls is for your pet, by the way," Cassie stated, with a serious expression.

"O-oh, is it…" Alex nervously smiled, "Well, I guess I have to wake him up now."

"Idiot," Victor's voice returned, "you just killed the creature's mother, the pup would realise his mother's missing, then go for you."

"I know," Alex whispered, "But I can't have her getting suspicious."

"I knew you shouldn't have brought it," Victor said confidently.

"Shut up."

"What was that, Alex?" Cassie asked, watching Alex's mouth move, but her ears didn't catch his murmurs.

"N-nothing," he nervously grinned once more, a singular sweat drop ran across his forehead, "But it's been a very long day, so I prefer not to wake the creature up right now."

"Creature?"

"I mean my pet," Alex added, "anyway, I'll finish the food then order an Inn for the night, is that okay?"

"Of course it is!" Cassie glady proclaimed, "I'll be cleaning, so you can ask me anything at anytime!"

"I appreciate it," he exhaled, "well, time to get full."

Alex had now taken his last bite, one that felt unbearably filling.

"I'm stuffed, that was great." Alex leaned back, and the backrest felt even better now that he was full.

"Glad you enjoyed! I'll get your tab in just a moment!" Cassie called out, taking Alex's plates.

"And the Inn, please."

"I'll get the tab for that out as well!" She then zoomed through the back door, putting Alex's dishes into the sink.

Ding!

The door placed at the entrance opened wide, as the ringing effect followed. Three manly-looking individuals walked in, each of them covered in rich metal gear and long metal swords on their sides.

While entering, they looked at each other and chuckled.

"Where's that hotty at?" The one in the front whispered, widening his smirk, "I wanna order one, Cassie, for the night."

They all looked at him and laughed, "Calm down, Miro, she might hear you, even though you usually get what you want."

Miro. Miro had been the group leader out of the three. He was at the front, leading the other two followers behind. Those other two were clearly only there to fuel his ego. Miro was a tall, eighteen-year-old man with teal hair that flowed below his shoulders.

He carried an arrogant smirk, with a neat blue royal outfit, clearly designed for a prince. Miro's blue eyes illuminated, clearly preparing to demand something, or maybe, someone. And above all else, he came from the family that Alex hates the most…

"No way!" Miro looked to where Alex was sitting, "It can't be!"

He stepped closer to Alex, slamming onto the wooden table.

"Guys!" Miro looked back, seeking attention, "he's the same Noble failure who couldn't awaken a beast-"

Just then, Miro spotted the wolf Alex kept with him, snoozing on the table.

Miro chuckled, "I guess you couldn't handle the fact that my brother took your girl, so you needed a new companion!"

They all laughed, "Still, I couldn't believe my brother would ever try to befriend you. Truly such a terrible thing to do on his part. Glad I didn't join in that so-called 'Friendship.'

Alex's gaze darkened, but he didn't want to risk anything. At this rate, if he were to use any force against a noble, especially a prince, it would cause backlash to his ordinary life.

Although Miro, being a Crowe, pissed Alex off the most. Miro was brothers with Noctis, and they were the two most annoying people to Alex, ones that he wished wouldn't exist in this world.

The two followers behind Miro chuckled as well, and a sneer ran across their faces.

"Stop it!" Cassie entered the situation, speed-walking to where Alex was being laughed at. "That's rude! Don't say such things!"

It seemed like she left her beast back inside the kitchen; now, Cassie remained defenseless.

"Ah, you're finally here." Miro chose to assert his dominance.

He slowly rolled a finger down her stomach, slowly and pervetedly rising onto her breasts. For some reason, Cassie didn't say a word, not because she consented to those actions, but because something was holding her back from defending herself.

As he was about to touch on her chest, a sudden uneasy presence made him stop. Miro looked around him, but he didn't know where it came from; there was no one strong inside the building either way.

"I didn't know you could do that, Victor," Alex grinned.

"Look at the look on his face, from the presence of a Demon like me," Victor replied, chuckling right after.

Miro interpreted it as his own imagination, then stepped back, away from Cassie.

"Remember what I told you, if you're not at my place by midnight, I'm taking this restaurant down." Miro lifted his long, heavy Iron sword, "And you don't want that to happen, do you? Especially to your poor old mother." He and the other two chuckled right after, without a sense of guilt.

Cassie stared at the wooden planks below; her gaze darkened, and she felt threatened.

"I know that," Cassie responded agreeingly. "I'll be there, and I'll dress in that outfit you wanted me to be in."

"Good, I'll prepare the carriage later. If you're not there, you can say goodbye to this Inn. But I wouldn't want something you passed down for generations to just disappear, I mean, would you?"

For a moment, Cassie was about to refuse, but she couldn't. Because this was the Inn her mother grew up in, and she didn't want to see her beloved parent saddened by the loss of this restaurant.

"That's all I came here to say." Miro turned around, his grin widened, "Guess who's getting play tonight?" He proudly looked back at the two men who followed him, "Let's go."

Then, the two followers followed in behind. Alex watched them closely, his gaze unwavering.

Ding!

The door opened wide, making way for the snow pouring down outside. In the next couple of seconds, it shut behind them. Alex made sure to keep one eye on them, even through the windows that separated the Inn and the outside.

"Take this," Alex dropped a gold coin on the table. "I'm going to come back, I just forgot something."

He put the Grey-Wolf back on his right shoulder, comfortably napping.

"O-oh n-no," Cassie stuttered, "This is way too much, we can't accept this."

"It's for the hospitality and the room, take it as a small tip." Alex stood up, walking towards the exit, "I'm coming back."

Cassie blushed as she bowed down, a respectful way a waiter would show her gratitude to such a huge tip.

Alex's anger lingered throughout his body as he opened the door, slamming it shut when he walked out.

"Victor, sense their location, is that possible?" Alex asked politely, but his tone spoke strictly with no remorse.

"That's a feature that only you can unlock through the system, I can't do that-"

"It's whatever," Alex added, now gazing at Miro with his men just up ahead, each of them laughing, "I got it from here."

Each of them paused, speaking loudly, spit ran across every one of their words. Alex watched in the shadows. The three of them stood in the middle, 'The Centre,' to be exact.

The night felt alive, but the public wasn't; they were all gone, comfortably sleeping in their houses, and some, on the streets.

"Time to see what this system can really do." He paused, then whispered the command, "Status."

Once Alex whispered that command out loud, the holographic interfaces assembled once more.
