Wang Feng held the cutting knife specially used for harvesting demonic materials.
The blade shimmered with water element energy as it pierced accurately into the weak spot behind the pseudo-dragon's head.
The pseudo-dragon trembled violently, then its soul returned to the dark plane.
At that moment, the Azure Dragon opened its enormous jaws and sucked sharply.
A dark green spirit floated from the pseudo-dragon's brow and was swallowed in one gulp by the Azure Dragon.
"Spirit?" Wang Feng's eyes widened, then brightened with excitement.
"Xiaoqing… you actually absorbed the spirit?"
Qinglong blinked, looking at Wang Feng with an almost silly expression, as if to answer yes.
Wang Feng frowned.
"Xiaoqing, can you spit out the spirit you just swallowed?"
The Azure Dragon shook its head, communicating silently: the essence had already been digested.
Wang Feng was speechless for a moment:
"Other people's Azure Dragons can help their masters collect residual souls, refine essence, and enhance magic… but why is mine just a… 'spirit devourer'?"
Still, Wang Feng felt the Azure Dragon's soul had solidified further and its strength had noticeably increased.
He sighed. "Well, improvement is improvement. I'll take what I can get."
Afterward, Wang Feng carefully harvested the valuable materials from the pseudo-dragon and checked the nest for additional treasures, storing everything safely in his space bracelet.
He then instructed Qinglong to shrink and hide within him before returning to camp.
A week passed as Wang Feng and Lingling continued exploring Dragon Valley.
The valley seemed endless, as though it existed in its own independent world.
"Wang Feng, we should probably call it a day soon. As long as we finish recording this area, the commission will be complete," Lingling said, her expression relaxed.
"Finally?" Wang Feng exhaled, relieved. "But the return trip to the entrance will probably take a few days."
Over the week, they had discovered eighty-three dragon nests: seventy-two mixed-dragon nests, nine pseudo-dragon nests, and four sub-dragon habitats.
What amazed Wang Feng most was that even sub-dragons avoided him upon sensing the Azure Dragon's aura. None dared to provoke him.
As a result, their journey was smooth, and they collected a wealth of rare dragon-related herbs along the way.
Guided by Moon, Wang Feng and Lingling climbed a towering mountain. Suddenly, the valley opened up before them—a vast expanse of colorful magic crystal veins.
In the center, a red dragon as large as a mountain lay quietly. Its scales glimmered in dazzling red under the sunlight.
"What… what is that?" Lingling's voice trembled with fear and awe.
"An emperor-level dragon!" Wang Feng whispered, heart pounding. He had never imagined the rumors were true—an emperor-level dragon truly resided in Dragon Valley.
"Let's retreat quickly," Wang Feng said, lowering his voice.
Lingling nodded, but she found Moon frozen in terror, limbs limp as if paralyzed.
In desperation, Wang Feng quickly pulled Moon into the dimensional plane, then carefully retreated with Lingling.
Once a safe distance away, Lingling caught her breath, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "I never imagined what a real emperor-level dragon looks like…"
Wang Feng nodded. The Azure Dragon confirmed the truth: the sleeping dragon was a pure-blood western emperor dragon.
Lingling quickly marked the new area on her tablet:
[Emperor Red Dragon's Lair, giant dragon species, solitary, danger level: dead silence]
"If we submit this map, we could compete with the big hunting groups for extra rewards!" Lingling whispered excitedly.
"Then let's not delay. We need to leave," Wang Feng said. He summoned Moon. Though she had recovered, a hint of wariness lingered in her eyes.
Mounted on Moon, they galloped toward the Dragon Valley entrance.
A few days later, in a canyon, Wang Feng and Lingling encountered other hunters.
The group did not look friendly—their eyes glinted with greed and mockery.
"Oh, what luck! A two-person team!" one hunter sneered.
"And it's a young man and a little girl! How dare they enter Dragon Valley?" another said, eyes lingering on Lingling with ill intent.
Wang Feng's expression darkened. Typical bandit logic: "I own this valley, so you belong to me."
The lead hunter smirked. "Hand over the map and all your harvest from Dragon Valley. As for the little girl… maybe I'll let you live if we have fun first."
Lingling turned pale and instinctively hid behind Wang Feng, clutching his clothes tightly.
"Disgusting scum! Lingling, close your eyes!" Wang Feng barked.
Without hesitation, Lingling obeyed.
"Qinglong-possession!"
A dazzling green light shot from the Azure Dragon's soul, merging instantly into Wang Feng. His aura surged, mental strength skyrocketed, and dragon power radiated from his body.
Two majestic horns emerged from his forehead, eyes gleaming green—he had become the living incarnation of the dragon clan.
The hunters' faces drained of color.
"What… what power is this?!" the lead hunter stammered.
"Run!" another cried, turning to flee.
It was too late.
"The Azure Dragon washes the world!"
Water and dragon power merged, summoning water elements in the air into a colossal, roaring blue dragon.
"Roaaar~!"
The Water Azure Dragon roared, an earth-shaking sound, and charged at the hunting mages.
