Chapter 52 - Chapter 52: The Crying Child Gets the Milk, a Long-Lost World for Two

"Old Wang, how do we deal with them?"

Mo Fan came up behind Wang Feng, pointing at the few surviving military mages who had surrendered.

"They? Of course…"

Before Wang Feng could finish, a rushing sound split the air from the horizon.

"Are you all right?"

A familiar voice rang out. Zhan Kong panted slightly, flapping a pair of green wind wings as he descended from the sky.

His sudden appearance instantly made everyone in the training team tense. They assumed defensive stances immediately.

Seeing this, Mo Fan quickly stepped forward. "Don't be nervous, everyone. This is our chief instructor, Zhan Kong!"

He then turned to Zhan Kong. "Chief Instructor? Why are you here?"

"I received news that Lu Nian was going to attack you, so I rushed over. What exactly happened here?"

"You mean Lu Zhenghe's older brother with the big yellow teeth, right?" Zhao Manyan interrupted.

"Yes. Where are the others?" Zhan Kong asked urgently.

"Him? He's been killed by Brother Wang. There's not even a trace left," Zhao Manyan said, shrugging, and pointed at the ground in front of Wang Feng.

Zhan Kong followed his finger and saw a tattered military uniform on the ground, a style unique to the Military Control Commission.

"Really… really dead?" Zhan Kong was stunned.

Lu Nian was a high-level wizard, proficient in earth magic, capable of handling commander-level demons alone. And now he had died at the hands of a healing mage? How was this even possible?

"Zhankong, you've arrived just in time," Wang Feng said, patting him on the shoulder. "There are only a few of Lu Nian's men left. I'll leave them to you."

"Ah? Oh…" Zhan Kong nodded, still a little blank.

"By the way, do you need me to arrange an escort out?" Zhan Kong asked.

"No need. I don't trust it," Wang Feng replied.

The eagles that Lu Nian and his group had brought—tamed for rapid transport—were of no use to him now.

Before returning to Anjie, Wang Feng explained to the team the crimes of Lu Nian and Song He.

Except for Mo Fan, a grassroots student, most of the people present came from prestigious families or had teachers with high social status.

They had been betrayed by Song He this time, and their anger was natural.

With Lu Nian's recorder, he would never escape the label of being Song He's accomplice, and those supporting Lu Nian's continued research into the demon system would not escape either.

Two days later

Magic City.

"Master! You must help me vent my anger!"

Wang Feng returned to Shanghai and immediately went to Dean Xiao's office.

Dean Xiao looked up, frowning. "What about Lu Nian? Didn't he die in your hands?"

"Master, although Lu Nian is dead, if that old bastard Song He hadn't betrayed him, how would he have known our exact location?"

Wang Feng took out a recorder and pressed play. The conversation between Lu Nian and Song He came out clearly.

Dean Xiao's expression darkened as he listened, his eyes filled with anger.

"This old bastard Song He really goes backwards as he ages!"

He hadn't expected Song He to betray his own disciples and students, pushing them into extreme danger.

"Master, this cannot be left alone. Song He must pay the price!"

Dean Xiao nodded but kept his brow furrowed. "I understand, but this recording alone isn't enough to completely bring down Song He. He's been entrenched in the education system for years, with a wide network of contacts. It won't be easy."

"I understand. Even if I can't kill him, I won't let him live comfortably. I'll make him bleed profusely and pay the price he deserves!"

"I'm glad you remain calm. Don't worry, I'll do my best to help and won't let this matter slip away easily."

"Thank you, Master!"

Dean Xiao waved his hand and changed the subject. "But be honest with me—how many systems do you have now?"

"Master has as many systems as I want. The others are just magic tied to magic tools," Wang Feng replied with a smile.

Dean Xiao's eyelids twitched. "This kid… could he have been born with all these skills?"

After receiving Dean Xiao's assurance, Wang Feng left Mingzhu Academy and returned to his apartment.

As soon as he opened the door, Ye Xinxia flew into his arms like a joyful little bird.

"Brother Wang Feng, you're back!" she exclaimed, eyes shining with happiness.

"Are you the only one here?" Wang Feng asked softly, putting an arm around her waist.

"Tutu seemed to have received some news yesterday and left angrily. She hasn't returned yet," Ye Xinxia nodded.

Wang Feng was slightly surprised. He hadn't expected Ai Tutu to also be involved in the trial of Song He. However, with the Ai family's intervention, Song He would have to pay the consequences even if he survived.

"That means it's just the two of us at home now," Wang Feng realized, a sly smile spreading across his face.

"Hmm~" Ye Xinxia blushed, lowering her head, ears tinged crimson.

"Then accompany your husband and take a bath together after such a long time apart!" Wang Feng teased, picking her up.

"Ah!" Ye Xinxia exclaimed, arms wrapping around his neck, cheeks deepening in color.

Wang Feng closed the entrance door with his mind control and carried her to the largest bathroom.

A moment later, the bathroom filled with mist, and the two figures intertwined amidst the haze.

Early the next morning

Wang Feng kissed Ye Xinxia goodbye and headed straight to the Three-Step Pagoda to practice in seclusion.

Seven days later, he emerged from seclusion.

The newly added Curse and Undead systems had already reached intermediate level, and the Psychic system had broken through to advanced under the influence of the Galaxy Vein.

His spiritual power at the peak of the fourth realm had also broken through to the middle of the fifth realm.

After leaving the Three-Step Pagoda, Wang Feng learned the trial's outcome.

Several officers under Lu Nian were sentenced to death without exception. Using their information, a military commander who supported Lu Nian's research was also found and executed.

Song He, as an accomplice, should have faced the same punishment as Lu Nian.

However, his deep connections in the education field led the Mu family, Zu family, and dozens of others to protect him.

In the end, Song He's punishment was reduced to deprivation of his tutor qualification in the National Government and suspension from the presidency of the Imperial Capital Academy, pending further investigation. He also had to compensate all students involved in the incident.

As the protagonist, Wang Feng received the most generous compensation under pressure from Dean Xiao, Song Qiming, and the Ai family:

Three Galaxy Veins

A Spirit-level Winged Magic Tool

Three high-level summoning resources

"It's really comfortable to have someone to lean on~"
