Chapter 243 - Konoha’s Fifth Hokage [243]

Black Zetsu had never personally seen the Tenseigan before, but fragments of information regarding it still existed within his memories.

After all, he had been separated from Kaguya's chakra itself, created specifically to deal with Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki and Hamura Ōtsutsuki. While his combat abilities were lacking, his intelligence and accumulated knowledge were anything but weak. Otherwise, he never could have manipulated so many people throughout history.

Based on Nagato's description, the so-called "eyes radiating brilliant blue light" truly sounded like the Tenseigan.

And Nagato had also mentioned chakra cloaking the body—wasn't that one of the Tenseigan's signature abilities, the Tenseigan Chakra Mode?

But that made no sense.

The Tenseigan was supposed to originate from Hamura Ōtsutsuki's bloodline mutation, so how could someone like Natsuhiko possess such power?

No matter how talented he was, no matter how monstrous his mutations had become, after so many generations of diluted bloodline inheritance, he shouldn't possibly awaken something like the Tenseigan.

"Could it really be another kind of eye… the Jōgan perhaps? Or does Senju Natsuhiko secretly have some connection to the Hyūga clan?"

The Tenseigan belonged to Hamura Ōtsutsuki, and Hamura's direct descendants were the Hyūga. Logically speaking, the Hyūga should have been the ones with the greatest chance of awakening it.

Unfortunately, ever since those descendants descended from the moon, it was as if they had gradually lost their original power. Their decline had only become more and more obvious over the years.

Kaguya's taijutsu had weakened generation after generation within them, slowly fading away. Even the bloodline they inherited from her had become unbelievably thin.

Black Zetsu even knew another secret.

Part of what should have belonged to Kaguya's bloodline—or more precisely, Hamura Ōtsutsuki's power—had actually been separated long ago.

Those were the people later known as the Kaguya Clan of Kirigakure, the possessors of the Shikotsumyaku.

And yet that clan had practically been wiped out.

"Forget it. There's no point dwelling on that brat now. Even if he's absurdly powerful, the most important thing at the moment is securing Nagato."

Black Zetsu understood this better than anyone.

Nagato was the key to reviving Uchiha Madara.

And Madara was the key to reviving his mother.

As long as Kaguya returned, every problem could eventually be resolved. In Black Zetsu's eyes, his mother was the strongest existence of all.

Even though she had once been sealed by Hagoromo and Hamura, those two had vanished for centuries upon centuries. They were most likely long dead by now.

And what was there to fear from dead men?

Besides, compared to the threat posed by Natsuhiko, Black Zetsu felt the truly terrifying existence was the mysterious figure lurking in the shadows of the shinobi world—the one capable of controlling the Tailed Beasts and even manifesting a form resembling his mother.

Those people were the real danger.

Because behind them, there might very well exist another being comparable to Kaguya herself.

If they could already control the Nine-Tails, who was to say they couldn't control the Ten-Tails as well?

Black Zetsu knew better than anyone exactly what kind of existence the Ten-Tails truly was.

After thinking it through, he stopped wasting energy on those troublesome thoughts. Right now, what mattered most was guiding this mentally shattered Nagato back onto the path he wanted.

Whether it was the Jōgan or the Tenseigan, Black Zetsu didn't care in the slightest.

He fully intended to deceive Nagato as thoroughly as possible and calm him down first.

Having such a devoted pawn who genuinely believed himself to be a god was honestly exhausting to deal with.

And Nagato wasn't even the only problem.

Obito was another deeply troubled child.

At times, Black Zetsu truly had to admire Madara's judgment.

The tools he selected were each more troublesome than the last, every single one harder to manage than the previous.

"I understand now."

Although inwardly irritated, Black Zetsu still pretended to ponder deeply before speaking in a grave tone.

"I never expected you to encounter such eyes. It seems your defeat was not unjustified at all."

"Hm?" A glimmer of light suddenly appeared in Nagato's eyes. Even though he was already weak to the brink of collapse, he still hurriedly asked,

"You know about it? Then tell me quickly—what kind of eyes were those?"

"No problem. I'll explain everything."

Black Zetsu felt increasingly helpless inside.

After enduring a thousand years of waiting, he had finally found hope at the end of it all. Yet now he had to babysit these people like they were children. Couldn't any of them be even slightly more mature?

Silently shaking his head, he reminded himself that he had already endured centuries upon centuries. Waiting another decade or two was hardly worth getting upset over.

With that thought, he slowly began to speak.

"In truth, this world is far larger than you can imagine, and the secrets hidden within it are far beyond what ordinary people could ever understand.

Take your Rinnegan, for example. It is known as the Eye of Creation, but that does not mean it is the only supreme dōjutsu in existence.

You've heard the legends, haven't you? The Sage of Six Paths used the Rinnegan to create the world itself. And among your own abilities… don't you possess similar powers as well?"

Hearing this, Nagato unconsciously nodded.

It was true.

He possessed an extremely terrifying power, one so profound that even now he could not fully wield it.

That technique was called Chibaku Tensei (Planetary Devastation).

The ability essentially created—or perhaps simulated—a celestial body. Combined with his mastery over attraction and repulsion, it truly resembled the foundation required to form a world.

It was precisely because he possessed such godlike abilities that Nagato had become utterly convinced that the shinobi world had indeed been created by the Sage of Six Paths.

At this moment, he trusted Black Zetsu's words even more.

After all, these abilities were secrets he had never shared with anyone.

A shinobi was supposed to hide their trump cards. Once others learned the details of your powers, they would begin researching them, countering them, and eventually overcoming them.

Even though Nagato saw himself as a god—as the Sage of Six Paths' representative in the mortal world—he was still fundamentally a ninja. There was no way he would openly reveal every detail of his abilities.

And yet, despite Nagato never exposing any of this, the strange black-and-white creature before him somehow knew part of the truth.

That naturally made him trust Black Zetsu more.

"So since your eyes are the Eyes of Creation, and you possess the power to create the world itself…"

Black Zetsu slowly inhaled before speaking in a low, deliberate voice.

"Then why couldn't there also exist Eyes of Destruction—eyes capable of annihilating everything in this world?"

"Eyes capable of destroying the world…"

Nagato froze for a moment.

But soon, overwhelming excitement spread across his face.

That's right!

The world was unimaginably vast, filled with endless mysteries and strange phenomena.

If his eyes possessed the power to create the world… then why couldn't another pair of eyes exist solely to destroy it?

The more he thought about it, the more excited he became.

"No wonder… no wonder!"

Nagato muttered to himself, though his voice was loud enough for everyone nearby to hear clearly.

"No wonder those eyes were so powerful. No wonder he could use abilities similar to Banshō Ten'in and Shinra Tensei.

So that's how it is… so that's how it is!"

The power of Shinra Tensei and Banshō Ten'in?

Hearing this, Black Zetsu became even more convinced that Natsuhiko had awakened some extraordinarily terrifying dōjutsu.

After all, Black Zetsu understood very clearly that abilities like Shinra Tensei and Banshō Ten'in were, at their core, simply advanced manipulations of attraction and repulsion through powerful ocular abilities.

And powers like those were not something ordinary people could ever obtain.

Anyone capable of wielding such abilities, whether they had truly evolved or not, was absolutely not someone to underestimate.

Could it be… that boy had truly awakened the Tenseigan?

At the thought, Black Zetsu's expression became somewhat strange.

Still, in the end, he couldn't care less.

As far as he was concerned, none of that mattered enough to waste his attention on.

Looking at Nagato, who now seemed to have regained a spark of vitality, Black Zetsu felt utterly speechless inside.

With a mentality like this, he still dared to dream of becoming a god?

According to the memories inherited from his mother, the Ōtsutsuki clan were practically all godlike beings. And yet even gods could die.

His mother herself had risen by stepping over the corpses of other Ōtsutsuki. The reason she created such an enormous White Zetsu army in the first place was specifically to guard against certain enemies.

Even someone as overwhelmingly powerful as Kaguya had been forced to act cautiously and prepare for the worst at every turn.

And Nagato?

He had merely obtained the Rinnegan—and it wasn't even originally his.

He was nothing more than a lucky pawn who happened to inherit a powerful pair of eyes. So where exactly did this confidence come from? Why did he genuinely believe himself invincible?

Leaving distant threats aside, just Madara Uchiha and Hashirama Senju alone could utterly crush him without difficulty.

Although Black Zetsu looked down on Nagato from the bottom of his heart, he still patiently continued comforting him. In the end, Nagato was only a tool. As long as he endured for a while longer, everything would eventually work out.

"No wonder… no wonder I could feel such terrifying destructive power from that man."

While Black Zetsu was still thinking, Nagato suddenly spoke again.

"So that's the truth…"

"It seems you finally understand."

Black Zetsu nodded indifferently before immediately continuing along Nagato's train of thought.

"The Jōgan is the Eye of Destruction itself. It's only natural that you sensed overwhelming destructive power from it.

If this world has creators, then naturally it must also have destroyers. The creator's power is to shape the world, while the destroyer exists to annihilate it.

Your encounter with him was inevitable—fated from the very beginning. In a sense, what we seek to accomplish is also a form of creation.

After all, our goal is to create a brand-new world without war. And if you choose that path, then naturally there will be enemies standing against you.

That enemy exists to destroy everything—to destroy the world we wish to create and become the harbinger of the world's destruction.

You have finally met the true enemy written into your destiny… and honestly, your performance has been deeply disappointing."

At this point, Black Zetsu deliberately paused.

As he watched Nagato's expression darken once more, he suddenly spoke in a meaningful tone.

"So this is what a Rinnegan wielder amounts to?

How disappointing. Even the Sage of Six Paths would probably feel regret seeing how pathetic his representative in the mortal world has become."

The moment those words landed, Black Zetsu could visibly see the change in Nagato's expression.

But what pleased him was that anger had finally appeared on Nagato's face.

Anger was good.

It meant Nagato had begun to come back to life.

Moments ago, he had looked like a man whose spirit had completely collapsed, someone already standing at death's door after losing all conviction.

Whether for a shinobi or an ordinary person, the most terrifying thing was the collapse of one's beliefs.

"Shut up!"

Nagato suddenly roared, the furious shout sounding as though it carried every ounce of frustration and despair he had accumulated over the past several months.

"So what if it's the Jōgan? So what if it's the Eye of Destruction? None of that means anything to me!

The Rinnegan has never feared any so-called destroyer, because destruction will always be defeated by creation. Justice will inevitably triumph over evil.

As expected, Konoha truly is the greatest evil in the shinobi world. Otherwise, how could a destroyer like that possibly emerge from there?

Natsuhiko… was that his name? Since he's from the Senju Clan, then he must be Senju Natsuhiko.

I will defeat him. I will kill him!

Back then, the Sage of Six Paths must have defeated the destroyer as well before he created the shinobi world.

And now I will do the same. I will prove that the Rinnegan can overcome everything!"

Nagato's words rang out with absolute conviction and force.

And whether it was Black Zetsu, Obito, or Konan, all of them quietly let out a sigh of relief at that moment.

Once a person regained a goal and rekindled their conviction, it meant they had regained hope. And with hope, people could overcome any hardship and stand back up again.

Although Konan still didn't fully trust either Black Zetsu or Obito, at this moment she genuinely felt grateful toward them.

If not for the two of them, Nagato might never have recovered. He might never have regained the will to fight… perhaps he might not even have survived at all.

"But…"

At that moment, Nagato suddenly frowned in confusion again.

"Why is that man so powerful? And why do I feel like his eyes are somehow even stronger than mine…"

"That's perfectly normal. Your understanding and usage of the Rinnegan are far too shallow."

Before Nagato could finish speaking, Black Zetsu directly interrupted him.

To Black Zetsu, the reason was obvious.

Nagato had only ever used the most basic applications of the Rinnegan. In the end, no one had ever truly taught him how to use those eyes.

And more importantly… the Rinnegan did not originally belong to him.

That alone meant there was no way Nagato could truly draw out its full potential.

Under normal circumstances, Black Zetsu would never have explained any of this to him. But now that an unexpected variable like Natsuhiko had appeared, he felt it was finally time to take action.

Natsuhiko was already frighteningly powerful, and after awakening those mysterious eyes, his threat level had become even more terrifying.

If no one restrained him, he might eventually become an uncontrollable danger capable of completely ruining their plans.

Now that Nagato firmly believed Natsuhiko to be his destined enemy, Black Zetsu naturally intended to push things even further.

"Every powerful dōjutsu possesses immense strength," Black Zetsu said slowly while looking at Nagato. "But obtaining those eyes does not instantly make someone invincible. Their true power can only be drawn out through continuous learning, comprehension, and refinement."

He knew very well that no matter what he said right now, Nagato would believe him completely.

For Black Zetsu, this situation was practically perfect.

"As for that man, I don't know when exactly he awakened those eyes. But he has already surpassed you, and the most likely reason is that your body has become a burden holding you back.

Since that's the case, I'll find a way to restore your body. Once you recover, you should be able to control the Rinnegan much more effectively.

At the very least… you won't need to rely on six puppet bodies just to use your power anymore."

...

"Why would you do something like that?"

Inside the Mizukage's office in Kirigakure, space suddenly distorted into a spiraling vortex before two figures stepped out from within.

The moment they appeared, one of them impatiently demanded an explanation.

Naturally, the two were Obito and Black Zetsu.

At this point, Obito's mind was filled with question marks.

First there was the so-called Jōgan, then the "Eyes of Destruction," and now Black Zetsu had apparently gone insane and decided to help Nagato recover his body so he could better wield the Rinnegan and further increase his strength.

What the hell was this situation supposed to be?

Was this something a normal person would actually do?

There was no denying that Nagato was an extremely important chess piece in their plans.

Obito completely agreed with that.

But no matter how important he was, he was still just a pawn.

So why go out of the way to strengthen him further?

And beyond that, Obito himself was still confused.

What exactly was this so-called Jōgan?

Was everything Black Zetsu said earlier actually true?

Faced with Obito's questions, Black Zetsu merely glanced at him silently.

Of course he understood why Obito was confused.

But what truly frustrated him was why this idiot couldn't simply use his brain and think for himself about the reason behind these actions.

Or perhaps… was there really nothing inside Obito's head besides Rin?

The more Black Zetsu thought about it, the angrier he became.

At times like this, he genuinely envied Madara Uchiha. That old man had simply died and escaped from dealing with all these idiots.

Unfortunately, Black Zetsu couldn't do the same.

If he died too, there would be no one left capable of bringing Madara back to life.

Suppressing the irritation building inside him, Black Zetsu slowly explained to Obito,

"It's actually very simple. We need someone to test Natsuhiko's strength for us. Those eyes of his are clearly abnormal."

"Those eyes?" Obito frowned. "So you're saying the Jōgan thing was actually real?"

"It's fake. At least, I've never heard of such an eye before."

Black Zetsu denied it without hesitation. Even if it truly existed, there was no way he would admit it openly.

"I made it up to deceive him. But Natsuhiko's strength is definitely a serious problem—that part is real."

"Fake?"

Obito looked completely lost now, staring at Black Zetsu in confusion.

"If it's fake, then why are you helping him? Are you insane?"

"Are you an idiot?"

For the first time in a while, Black Zetsu nearly lost control.

Over the course of his endless life, he had seen plenty of fools. But someone as hopelessly stupid as Obito… while he had encountered similar people before, this was his first time actually having to work closely with one.

Still, after snapping at him, Black Zetsu quickly forced himself to calm down.

Yelling at Obito accomplished nothing except raising his nonexistent blood pressure.

At this point, he felt it would be better to explain everything clearly and then stay as far away from this fool as possible.

With that thought in mind, he shook his head and continued,

"Nagato's body is already failing, isn't it? Since that's the case, shouldn't we save him?

After all, he's still a qualified pawn. If something happens to him, we'll have no way to revive Madara Uchiha, and without Madara, we can't carry out the Infinite Tsukuyomi.

And after being crushed so badly by Natsuhiko this time, his conviction was practically shattered. That idiot genuinely believed he was a god.

So what we need to do is give him a new belief—a new goal—so he can recover.

Besides, there's something deeply abnormal about that Senju Natsuhiko. Forget those strange eyes for a moment; just inheriting the powers of both Hashirama Senju and Tobirama Senju already makes him terrifying enough.

Now that Nagato has become the perfect person to restrain him, why wouldn't we take advantage of that?

And tell me honestly—do you think Nagato trusted us before?

But now? I can guarantee he's already beginning to trust us."

A faintly cold smile appeared on Black Zetsu's face.

"Of course, that trust itself is meaningless. It only makes things more convenient for us. What truly matters is gaining better control over him.

Even if we have to use certain methods… we'll make sure he obeys us completely."

At this point, Black Zetsu no longer wanted to continue explaining.

This was probably the first time in his life he had ever broken something down to such an absurd degree. He honestly felt that even someone as dense as Obito should understand by now.

But when he turned to look at him, he discovered Obito blinking blankly.

"That makes sense," Obito said thoughtfully. "If he causes trouble, it could interfere with the Infinite Tsukuyomi, and then I wouldn't be able to reunite with Rin. But… how exactly are you planning to control him?"

"…"

Black Zetsu truly felt as though his nonexistent blood pressure was rising.

Did this guy actually have a functioning brain?

No, that wasn't right.

Back when Obito had been controlling Kirigakure, he had at least seemed barely competent. So why had he suddenly become this stupid now?

Almost grinding his teeth together, Black Zetsu forced the words out one by one.

"The very act of saving him is also harming him. If I help restore his body, then naturally I can place certain things inside him.

That will allow us to control him far more effectively.

Even if he refuses to cooperate with us later, we'll still be able to force him to obey.

Now do you finally understand?"

Black Zetsu suddenly felt exhausted.

Truly exhausted.

He understood exactly what kind of person Madara had been searching for when choosing the wielder of the Rinnegan.

The most important requirement was someone whose body could withstand the overwhelming burden and erosion of those eyes.

As a descendant of the Uzumaki Clan, Nagato possessed extraordinary life force and vitality. And with the Uzumaki clan either dead or scattered across the world, finding a suitable child back then had already been difficult enough.

For the Uchiha clan, the key to awakening the Mangekyō Sharingan had never been raw strength, but mentality.

The purer and kinder a person was, the more terrifying their emotions became once they suffered a complete emotional collapse. And the more extreme those emotions became, the greater the chance of awakening the Mangekyō Sharingan.

Uchiha Obito was the perfect example of this.

He had been too kind, too naïve. And once someone like that was pushed into the abyss, they would sink into it completely.

Black Zetsu understood all of this perfectly well, but what he truly hadn't expected was that both of the people Madara chose would turn out to be such unbelievable oddballs.

He never expected them to be peerless geniuses or anything of the sort.

He only wished they could have been normal people.

Unfortunately, that had clearly become an impossible dream.

"I see now."

Obito finally nodded in realization.

"Not bad. Completely controlling Nagato would definitely be beneficial for us."

"It's good that you understand."

Black Zetsu shook his head before his body slowly sank into the ground.

"In that case, I'll return and begin researching the matter. I'll leave the rest to you."

Without giving Obito any chance to continue the conversation, Black Zetsu directly disappeared from the Mizukage's office.

Right now, he desperately needed to return and study things carefully.

More importantly, he needed time to calm himself down.

Otherwise, his nonexistent blood pressure really might explode sooner or later.

...

Naturally, Natsuhiko knew nothing about the amusing developments taking place within the Akatsuki.

At this moment, he had already quietly arrived inside his orchard.

Several months had passed since he planted everything here, and only now had he finally found the time to properly examine exactly what he had gained.

His current strength was already overwhelming, and he certainly wasn't in urgent need of acquiring new powers.

But that didn't mean he would refuse more power if it was available.

"Besides, it's about time I finally resolve the Kekkei Tota issue. I've delayed it long enough already."

Ever since obtaining the ability to fuse chakra natures, he had yet to make any real progress with it. The main reason was simple—he still hadn't decided what kind of power he wanted to create.

But now, he finally had a clear direction.

Dust Release.

The chakra composition for Dust Release consisted of Earth Release, Wind Release, and Fire Release. Conveniently, he already possessed all three chakra natures, so recreating it theoretically wouldn't be too difficult for him.

As for the trouble it might cause… Natsuhiko realized he had actually overthought that part.

Many Kekkei Genkais and Kekkei Totas were created through repeated combinations of chakra natures, yet the resulting abilities often differed drastically.

To put it simply, the proportions of chakra used during fusion varied, and even slight differences in balance could produce completely different results.

Natsuhiko had no idea what the precise chakra ratio for Dust Release was. That secret was probably known only to Ōnoki himself.

Of course, Natsuhiko also felt that if Ōnoki ever fired a Dust Release attack at him directly, he might be able to use the Jōgan's super perception to see through its composition and replicate the real thing instantly.

The Jōgan's analytical ability was simply too absurd.

In fact, Natsuhiko had begun noticing something interesting—the simpler and more basic an ability sounded, the more terrifying its true potential often became.

At least in the original story, he had never seen anyone whose eyes could achieve the level of perception his Jōgan possessed.

Shaking his head lightly, Natsuhiko slowly walked toward the massive tree before him and gently placed his hand against its trunk.

In the next instant, the familiar voice of the system echoed within his mind once again.

That immediately made him relax slightly.

Inside this tree was the Mangekyō Sharingan he had implanted earlier—the one belonging to Uchiha Fugaku.

Now that the system had responded, it meant this harvest had succeeded once again.

Not that he had ever truly doubted it would fail.

After all, what he planted this time was a Mangekyō Sharingan.

There was a very real possibility that this harvest would finally grant him the power of Yin Release.

And honestly… he had been looking forward to obtaining Yin Release for a very long time.

"Detected special power. Analyzing—"

"Analysis complete. Basic Yin Release detected. Extract?"

"Analysis complete. Sharingan Origin Seed detected. Extract?"

When the system's voice echoed through Natsuhiko's mind once again, even he froze in surprise.

Two analysis results?

This was genuinely the first time he had ever encountered such a situation.

Ever since obtaining the system, every single thing he planted had only ever produced one result. Something like today could practically be called a miracle.

If he had implanted two Mangekyō Sharingan into the tree, he probably wouldn't have been this shocked.

But the problem was that he had only planted one.

"What the hell is going on here?"

Natsuhiko muttered to himself, though as expected, the system offered absolutely no explanation.

That immediately gave him a headache.

Fortunately, he had long since gotten used to the system's silence. He never really expected it to provide proper answers anyway.

Besides, receiving two rewards at once was something he should be celebrating.

Yin Release…

He honestly couldn't even remember how long he had been waiting for this.

As a member of the Senju Clan, Natsuhiko had never once worried about Yang Release. Especially with the system's assistance, he had always been confident that mastering Yang Release was only a matter of time.

Although the reality differed slightly from his expectations.

After all, his actual awakening of Yang Release had a lot to do with Danzo—the same Danzo who had already been reduced to ashes long ago.

Still, regardless of the process, he had successfully obtained Yang Release and could already control it quite proficiently.

But Yin Release was a completely different story.

As a Senju, Natsuhiko naturally possessed Yin chakra to some extent. The essence of Yin Release was closely tied to spiritual energy and mental power.

However, he lacked a pair of eyes capable of refining and amplifying Yin Release to its absolute peak.

Nor did he possess secret techniques like those of the Yamanaka or Nara clans, which specialized in manipulating and materializing Yin Release directly.

Even after obtaining the Jōgan, he noticed that his control and development of Yin Release had barely improved at all.

That truly left him frustrated.

At one point, he had practically placed all his hopes on the Sharingan.

He had even seriously considered simply ripping Nagato's eyes out, since those Rinnegan originally belonged to Madara Uchiha anyway.

After using Hashirama Senju's flesh to obtain fragments of Asura's power, it wasn't impossible that obtaining the Rinnegan might grant him something related to Indra's power as well.

But in the end, compared to acquiring Tailed Beast chakra, that plan had temporarily fallen to the bottom of his priority list.

Ever since obtaining the ability to fuse chakra together, Natsuhiko had started entertaining an even crazier idea.

What if he could create the Ten-Tails himself?

If that became possible, then his path toward achieving a Kekkei Mōra would gain another route entirely.

There was no need to question how terrifying the Ten-Tails truly was.

And naturally, creating such an existence would require an unimaginable amount of fusion power.

But the amusing part was that Natsuhiko knew Black Zetsu and Obito had already produced an army of one hundred thousand White Zetsu.

In other words… he had absolutely no shortage of fusion materials.

"At worst, I'll just shove every White Zetsu into the trees. If there aren't enough trees, I'll grow more myself. And if that still isn't enough, I'll just use Edo Tensei to resurrect Hashirama Senju and make him create an entire forest for me.

As long as there are enough trees and enough White Zetsu buried beneath them, I'll eventually obtain enough fusion power!"

Natsuhiko had practically already prepared for the worst-case scenario.

But now that he had finally obtained Yin Release, one of his greatest problems had effectively been solved.

He no longer needed to waste endless time searching for a path toward Yin Release.

Even if this was only a basic-level Yin Release, it still meant he finally had a proper starting point.

"Besides that… there's also this 'Sharingan Origin Seed.' What exactly is that supposed to be?"

Suppressing the excitement bubbling inside him, Natsuhiko forced himself to calmly think about the second reward.

After considering it carefully, he guessed it was probably something related to awakening a Sharingan.

And if that was really the case, then honestly, it wasn't particularly useful to him anymore.

Back in the past, he definitely would have been interested in the Sharingan.

After all, he knew exactly how the Mangekyō Sharingan was awakened.

He also understood that the combination of Senju and Uchiha power was merely an incomplete imitation of the Sage of Six Paths' true abilities.

To truly complete that power, one needed both Indra's and Asura's chakra.

And by sheer coincidence, Natsuhiko even knew who the next reincarnations would be.

Most importantly of all, the Sharingan could have helped him make up for his lack of Yin Release.

But now things were different.

With both the Jōgan and Yin Release already in his possession, his interest in the Sharingan had declined significantly.

Still, no matter what, since the reward had appeared, he had no intention of wasting it.

"At worst… I can just give it to someone who actually needs it. That should earn me a bit of loyalty at least."
