Chapter 248 - Konoha’s Fifth Hokage [248]

"Yes. I was the one who killed him."

Faced with Senju Shoma's question, Natsuhiko saw no reason to hide the truth.

There weren't many people in Konoha who knew what had really happened to Danzo. In fact, for the vast majority of the village, the name Shimura Danzo barely meant anything at all.

But Senju Shoma was different.

He knew exactly what kind of figure Danzo had been within Konoha.

After hearing Natsuhiko's straightforward answer, Shoma fell silent for a long moment.

A complicated expression gradually spread across his aged face.

He had bought the newspapers before. He also knew that someone had likely been targeting Danzo.

But the truth was that he hadn't seen Natsuhiko properly in a very long time, and he had no idea what was truly happening behind the scenes.

All he knew was that Natsuhiko had become the Commander of the ANBU and was likely involved in the matter somehow.

As for anything deeper than that, no one had told him anything.

Whether it was Natsuhiko, Renge, or the Senju shinobi who had entered the ANBU, every single one of them had "strictly adhered to protocol" and refused to reveal even the slightest detail.

Viewed from another angle, however…

It meant they had already given their loyalty entirely to Natsuhiko.

Only sometime after Danzo's death did Shoma accidentally learn the truth behind the great fire that had swept through Konoha that night.

That blaze…

Had actually been Danzo's funeral pyre.

The revelation alone had already left him deeply shocked.

But now, hearing Natsuhiko personally confirm everything, Shoma suddenly felt an indescribable sense of loneliness.

Such an enormous event had occurred, yet not a single member of the clan had come to inform him.

That realization genuinely hurt him.

At the same time, however, he also felt a strange sense of relief and pride.

Because in his eyes, Natsuhiko had truly grown into someone capable of standing alone.

A shinobi fully capable of carrying the glory and future of the Senju Clan on his shoulders.

"I understand now…" Shoma let out a quiet sigh. "You've worked hard for the clan. Everything you've done for us, I—"

"I'm a member of the Senju Clan too," Natsuhiko interrupted calmly before the elder could finish speaking. "I've said this many times already."

"So please don't say things like that anymore."

"The clan raised me. I'll never forget that."

Shoma stared at him for a moment before finally nodding slowly.

"You're right. That was my mistake. I won't say such things again."

After speaking, he paused briefly before continuing.

"You're already the Commander of the ANBU now. Can you tell me more about what's been happening?"

Natsuhiko thought for a moment before giving an ambiguous answer.

"There are some things I can talk about… and some things I can't."

Truthfully, he could have told Shoma nearly everything.

But there were simply too many sensitive matters involved.

There was no way he could reveal absolutely everything.

What if Shoma started asking questions like who exactly attacked Orochimaru back then?

Was Natsuhiko supposed to casually admit that he himself had done it?

Not to mention the countless secrets he absolutely couldn't reveal.

For example, he had secretly allowed Orochimaru to continue experimenting with Hashirama Senju's cells.

Telling Shoma something like that would only create problems for himself.

Because of that, Natsuhiko needed to maintain control of the conversation.

What could be said and what couldn't would be decided entirely by him.

"I understand," Shoma said with a nod. "If there are things unsuitable to discuss, then there's no need to answer them."

Then he looked at Natsuhiko seriously and finally asked the questions weighing most heavily on his mind.

"What exactly is going on with this newspaper?"

"And regarding all these recent incidents… how much have you been involved?"

"More importantly…"

"What are your plans for the future?"

"It seems Elder Shoma really has accumulated quite a lot of questions," Natsuhiko said with a laugh, shaking his head lightly.

At this point, he finally realized something.

Shoma had completely lost access to reliable information channels.

Honestly, Natsuhiko hadn't expected that.

But in another sense, it also proved just how thoroughly he had gained control over the ANBU.

Thinking that, a faint smile appeared on his face.

"In that case," he said leisurely, "since dinner hasn't officially started yet, I might as well explain things properly to you."

Shoma was clearly full of curiosity regarding everything Natsuhiko had been doing recently, and Natsuhiko didn't mind satisfying some of that curiosity.

It wasn't because he possessed some mentality like returning home in glory or wanting to show off his achievements.

Rather, allowing Shoma to clearly understand the level of influence and accomplishments he now possessed would greatly help Natsuhiko gain firmer and more reasonable control over the Senju Clan itself.

And that was extremely important.

Because of that, Natsuhiko began calmly recounting many of the things he had done over the years.

From Orochimaru's incident…

To establishing the newspaper organization…

And finally, to the scheme that had ultimately led to Danzo's death—

He explained everything in considerable detail.

Senju Shoma listened with complete focus, and as Natsuhiko continued speaking, the elder's expression shifted again and again.

The moment he heard that Orochimaru had been secretly researching Hashirama Senju's corpse, Shoma's face instantly darkened with fury.

Only after hearing how Natsuhiko seized the opportunity to target Orochimaru did his expression ease slightly.

And when Natsuhiko mentioned Orochimaru attacking the Uchiha Clan, an unmistakable sneer even appeared on Shoma's face.

As an old remnant of the Senju Clan, his disgust toward both Orochimaru and the Uchiha ran deep.

When he learned that Orochimaru's attack had resulted in Fugaku Uchiha losing one of his eyes, Shoma's mood visibly improved even further.

Watching dogs bite each other apart was something he found deeply satisfying.

As for the fact that Natsuhiko had ultimately only severely injured Orochimaru rather than killing or capturing him, Shoma could only sigh regretfully.

However, as Natsuhiko continued his explanation, Shoma's expression gradually became much more serious.

Especially after realizing that Orochimaru himself had merely been a chess piece in Natsuhiko's plans against Hiruzen Sarutobi.

Natsuhiko had intentionally forced Orochimaru into defection in order to pressure Hiruzen into reinstating Shimura Danzo.

And afterward, his true goal had been to eliminate Danzo and severely damage Hiruzen's reputation.

At the same time, he had also created a propaganda organization—

The newspaper company.

Natsuhiko briefly explained how he intended to use the newspaper and what role it would play in the future.

Yet even though his explanation remained relatively simple, the sheer shock of this "dimensional superiority" left Shoma utterly stunned.

He genuinely hadn't imagined that Natsuhiko had quietly built something this terrifying.

By the time Natsuhiko finally finished speaking, Shoma had practically gone numb.

He stared blankly at Natsuhiko for a long time, unable to say a single word.

Seeing the elder's reaction, Natsuhiko merely smiled faintly and shook his head.

He knew perfectly well that even the small amount of information he had revealed was already overwhelming enough for Shoma.

But honestly, this outcome suited him perfectly.

His objective had already been fully achieved.

And from now on, he would likely save himself a great deal of unnecessary trouble.

After this conversation, Elder Shoma probably wouldn't feel inclined to ask too many unnecessary questions anymore.

Because the truth was obvious now.

The two of them were no longer standing at the same height.

Nor were they looking at the world from the same perspective.

At that thought, Natsuhiko suddenly smiled.

"And Elder," he said calmly, "haven't you always wanted to know what my true goal is?"

"Well then…"

"I can tell you clearly now."

"From beginning to end, my goal has only ever been one thing."

"To become Hokage."

...

"So, you're the Editor-in-Chief?"

Inside the Land of Grass, Ōnoki frowned deeply as he looked at the young man standing before him.

Naturally, he didn't believe for a second that this youth was the real chief of the newspaper organization.

There was no way someone this young could have created and managed such a massive institution.

After concluding that the newspaper organization didn't belong directly to any hidden village, Ōnoki had assumed there must be some powerful civilian organization backing it from the shadows.

Still, no matter how influential civilian groups were, they simply couldn't compare to an actual ninja village.

And now, after the Tsuchikage himself had personally come to meet them, the other side had only sent a young man to receive him?

Wasn't that basically an open display of disrespect?

At this point, Ōnoki was already extremely displeased.

To put it bluntly, his temper was beginning to rise.

Even so, he didn't erupt immediately.

He wanted to see what this young man had to say first.

"You misunderstand, Tsuchikage-sama."

Nara Rokushiro naturally noticed that Ōnoki's mood was souring, but he showed no signs of panic whatsoever.

Because he understood very clearly—

If he panicked now, he was finished.

"I am not the Editor-in-Chief. Do you really think someone my age could be running something like that?"

"Oh?" Ōnoki raised a brow.

The young man's calm, almost effortless admission didn't surprise him too much, but it did slightly temper his irritation.

The more composed the boy in front of him appeared, the more likely it was that the organization behind him wasn't small at all.

More importantly, Ōnoki could faintly sense a decent amount of chakra within him. That alone was enough to suggest that this group was worth taking seriously.

In truth, Ōnoki had always held a relatively tolerant attitude toward organizations not affiliated with any of the major shinobi villages.

Because such groups were almost always profit-driven.

As long as the price was right, they could be used by anyone.

He himself had no idea how many times he had hired such mercenary organizations before—using their lives to deal with disobedient smaller nations and extend Iwagakure's influence.

They would stir up chaos in those minor countries that refused to comply, leaving them unable to resist.

At that point, his own forces could step in under the justified pretext of "assistance."

And once they entered, leaving would no longer be so simple.

In fact, it was often impossible.

Those smaller nations had no way to resist that kind of pressure.

From Ōnoki's perspective, organizations like these were quite useful.

They took money and completed jobs, and most importantly, their lives were far less valuable than the shinobi of a hidden village.

Among all such groups in his memory, the most impressive one had been the organization called "Akatsuki."

Its members were strong and highly professional.

Though for some reason, he hadn't heard anything about them for over half a year now.

But that wasn't important at the moment.

Ōnoki's gaze sharpened as he looked at Rokushiro and spoke in a low, cold voice.

"I believe I made it clear that I wanted to meet your president."

"Sending a young man like you to deal with me… don't you think that's going too far?"

"Please understand, Tsuchikage-sama," Rokushiro replied with his usual lazy smile and a small shrug. "The president really does have a valid reason for not being able to leave at the moment."

"He's currently in the Land of Fire. The Commander of the ANBU from Konoha has kept him there, apparently for some extremely important discussion."

"The ANBU Commander?" Ōnoki narrowed his eyes slightly, as though he had just caught onto something. "Is this related to Kumogakure?"

"I'm afraid I'm not allowed to disclose that," Rokushiro said with a light chuckle, shaking his head.

At that moment, he looked almost unfathomable—but internally, he was already exhausted from complaining.

After all, if they were being honest here, the "Editor-in-Chief" in question was none other than the ANBU Commander himself—Senju Natsuhiko.

Were they supposed to tell the Tsuchikage that the same person was both the one holding the chief back and the chief himself?

No matter how he thought about it, that would sound completely insane.

As for what that Commander was actually discussing…

Well, that was simple. He was preparing to scheme against Ōnoki.

Ōnoki studied Rokushiro in silence.

Although the young man hadn't said anything directly, he had already reached his own conclusion.

That ANBU Commander—Senju Natsuhiko—was likely preparing something related to Kumogakure.

Given the recent movements of Kumogakure, Konoha's ANBU would naturally be the first to detect any abnormal activity.

And if Kumogakure made a move, Konoha could not simply sit back and watch.

They would need to mobilize their shinobi in response.

In truth, this kind of matter shouldn't normally fall under the ANBU Commander's responsibility.

But given Konoha's internal situation, and the fact that this Natsuhiko likely belonged to the faction supporting the Fourth Hokage…

It made sense that he would personally take charge of it.

Not only to handle the situation, but also to bolster the Fourth Hokage's reputation and maintain public support during his prolonged absence.

There was no denying it.

The emergence of newspapers like this had already begun to disrupt traditional methods of influence.

Compared to speeches held once or twice at large gatherings, newspapers were far more effective at shaping public opinion.

After all, mass speeches couldn't be delivered every day.

But newspapers…

They spread quietly, like a spring breeze or gentle rain, influencing people continuously without them even realizing it.

With something like that in play, even Ōnoki would never easily let it go. He could now somewhat understand why that mysterious "Chief" hadn't been able to come in person.

"Senju Natsuhiko, huh," Ōnoki nodded lightly. "I see. Still, I'm more curious about you. Who exactly are you?"

"Uesugi Rokushiro," the young man replied with his usual calm smile, neither servile nor arrogant. "If I were to describe it in my own understanding, I suppose I would be the future successor of the newspaper organization… provided my brothers don't cause any trouble, of course."

Succession, my foot—when did I suddenly become someone's son?

At that moment, Rokushiro finally caught on and inwardly groaned. Somehow, without him realizing it, his identity had been twisted into the "son of Natsuhiko."

The problem was… he was actually older than Natsuhiko by a fair margin. Being forced into a junior role like this naturally left him feeling a bit annoyed, though all he could do was complain inwardly.

Ōnoki, however, merely nodded in understanding.

He had never heard of the surname "Uesugi," but that didn't mean unknown names lacked strength.

On the contrary, the fact that this mysterious figure had sent his eldest son in his place clearly showed how much importance he placed on this meeting.

And Ōnoki began to think further.

Could this so-called "heir" be useful to him?

For example, if he provided him with sufficient support and helped him rise to power in the future…

Wouldn't that mean he could directly secure the full backing of the entire newspaper organization, rather than dealing with its current uncertain structure?

"I understand, Lord Rokushiro," Ōnoki said, his earlier irritation completely gone as he smiled. "In that case, I think we can have a proper discussion. For instance… about your Shinobi Daily entering the Land of Earth."

"It would be my honor," Rokushiro replied with a slight bow. "Tsuchikage-sama."

...

Natsuhiko's invitation for dinner with Pakura ultimately went quite smoothly.

Although Senju Shoma's unexpected visit had briefly interrupted things, it didn't cause any real disruption in the end.

In fact, that meeting with Shoma later brought Natsuhiko quite a few benefits in the days that followed.

After that encounter, Shoma began systematically transferring the influence and internal authority he held within the Senju Clan.

This action alone made one thing very clear—

He was preparing to fully hand control of the clan over to Natsuhiko.

Naturally, Natsuhiko was extremely satisfied with this development.

Even in its current state of decline, the Senju Clan's power was still something that could not be ignored.

However, despite his satisfaction, Natsuhiko was also very clear on one thing: he did not have the time to personally manage the entire clan right now.

All of his attention was currently focused on the ANBU.

And beyond that, he also had to prepare for the looming conflict between Konoha and Kumogakure.

To be honest, he understood very well why Kumogakure was targeting Konoha.

The Fourth Raikage was an extremely aggressive and domineering man. There was no way he would tolerate a weakened Konoha continuing to sit above him.

On top of that, Kumogakure had set its sights on the Hyuga Clan.

It wasn't just for strategic value—it was also a way to plant a time bomb inside Konoha.

Before coming into this world, Natsuhiko had once wondered why Kumogakure, a village specializing in speed and taijutsu, didn't target the Uchiha Clan instead.

After all, the Sharingan's visual prowess and dynamic perception seemed far more suitable for high-speed combat than the Byakugan.

So why go after the Hyuga instead of the Uchiha?

But after arriving in this world, he realized he had been thinking too narrowly.

The Sharingan might indeed be more suitable for combat…

But the strategic value of the Byakugan was on an entirely different level.

What was war really about?

Beyond logistics, it was all about intelligence.

Especially when two armies were evenly matched in individual strength, real-time intelligence became absolutely decisive.

Direct confrontation only increased losses.

And so, both sides' commanders would inevitably resort to countless methods and schemes to secure even the slightest advantage for their own side.

And at that moment, if a pair of Byakugan existed, they could instantly see through everything, rendering all of the opponent's tactics meaningless.

Even before a battle began, having the Byakugan constantly watching the enemy meant every single movement was exposed without exception. With such complete intelligence, how could one possibly lose?

The reason Konoha had been able to stand against four great nations at once and still emerge victorious was not only due to its deep foundations or the lack of unity among the opposing villages.

The Byakugan had also played an unimaginably important role in those wars. Its strategic value was simply too great.

That was precisely why forcing Hiruzen Sarutobi to hand over a Byakugan to them was, from Kumogakure's perspective, an extremely profitable deal no matter how it was calculated.

But what if the Hyuga or Hiruzen tried to play tricks?

Kumogakure wasn't foolish either. That was why their demand was specifically aimed at Hyuga Hiashi.

As the head of the Hyuga Clan, it would be extremely difficult for Konoha to easily satisfy such a request.

If Konoha agreed, then the Hyuga Clan's hatred toward Hiruzen Sarutobi would be inevitable.

If they refused, then Kumogakure would simply shift the target to Hyuga Hizashi—Hiashi's own younger brother.

Even though Hizashi was from the branch family, the bond between siblings was not something so easily erased. And Kumogakure's intelligence network had already uncovered quite a few interesting details.

In other words, no matter how Hiruzen Sarutobi chose to respond, a hidden time bomb would inevitably be planted inside the Hyuga Clan.

The only difference was whether the hatred would be directed solely at Hiashi or at the entire clan.

Of course, even that wasn't really a problem from Kumogakure's perspective.

Hiashi was the clan head. If he died, the entire clan would blame Hiruzen. If he lived, he could still guide the clan's hatred in that direction.

That single move alone was enough to ensure serious internal instability within Konoha.

"So in the end, if war breaks out, Konoha suffers. If it doesn't, Hiruzen Sarutobi and Konoha still suffer. Kumogakure really has calculated this to the bone."

With Kumogakure stirring in the shadows, Natsuhiko had no choice but to stay fully alert. Under these circumstances, he naturally couldn't afford to divide his attention toward the Senju Clan.

That was why, when Senju Shoma attempted to formally hand over authority, Natsuhiko decisively stopped him.

Shoma was his guardian in name. Although they were not aligned on everything, that did not mean Natsuhiko did not trust him.

Especially now, after everything Natsuhiko had accomplished, there was no one left in the Senju Clan who could oppose him.

There was no need to force Shoma to relinquish control. The elder was still perfectly capable of holding the position.

"I don't have that much time," Natsuhiko thought. "Let the Senju Clan remain in the hands of the elders. Just like how I handle the ANBU—give direction, and let them execute."

That was essentially how Natsuhiko viewed the Senju Clan's management.

What he did find interesting, however, was that Senju Shoma had still delivered everything to him without hesitation.

Financial records, alliances with other clans, and even a complete registry of all jutsu the clan had collected—all of it had been handed over.

Combined with the detailed member lists and deployment data Natsuhiko had already obtained earlier, the current Senju Clan was now completely transparent to him.

At this point, calling it "Natsuhiko's Senju Clan" was no longer an exaggeration.

"Commander."

Inside the ANBU office, as Natsuhiko was reviewing documents, Pakura suddenly pushed the door open and walked in.

"What is it?" he asked, placing the files down.

"We've got results," she said quickly, handing him a sealed letter.

Natsuhiko took it and opened it without hesitation. After carefully reading through the contents, a faint smile appeared on his lips.

Nara Rokushiro really did have some talent.

He had actually managed to secure things with Ōnoki, the Third Tsuchikage, and not only that—he had also obtained a series of favorable policies and protective agreements for entering the Land of Earth.

This realization made Natsuhiko genuinely feel a sense of admiration. Members of the Nara Clan truly were not people who could be underestimated.

The agreement signed between Nara Rokushiro and Ōnoki could be said to have completely cleared away every obstacle for the newspaper's distribution within the Land of Earth.

Ōnoki had promised that once the newspaper entered the country, he could persuade the Daimyō to allow its circulation and even assist in establishing distribution stations across various regions of the Land of Earth.

On top of that, he would also provide a certain level of protection for the newspaper, preventing greedy individuals from targeting it and threatening the organization's interests.

Most importantly, Ōnoki would even put his personal endorsement behind the newspaper and provide manpower to support its early-stage promotion.

These terms were so convenient that they almost felt unbelievable. At one point, even Nara Rokushiro had wondered whether the Third Tsuchikage's brain had malfunctioned.

But that thought didn't last long.

Wait. "If something seems too good to be true, there's definitely a problem behind it."

He quickly became alert.

There was no way he would believe Ōnoki was acting out of charity. Every concession he made had to come with a purpose.

As a member of the Nara Clan, Rokushiro was no fool. Even though he had no presence in the original storyline, that didn't mean anything.

Konoha alone had tens of thousands of shinobi—there was no way every single one of them could be fully documented in history.

Not being recorded simply meant he had no direct involvement with the main characters, not that he was insignificant.

Even Konoha's jonin numbered in the hundreds. Each of their individual stories, if isolated, would be the story of a protagonist in their own right.

It was only because the perspective of the world had been centered on Naruto and a few others that everyone else seemed irrelevant.

Rokushiro was clearly one of those overlooked individuals. As a Nara, his intelligence was exceptional, and after careful thought, he quickly pieced together Ōnoki's intentions.

On the surface, these agreements looked generous—but in reality, the cost to Ōnoki was minimal.

Persuading the Daimyō?

What a joke.

This was Iwagakure, not Sunagakure. Did they really need persuasion?

In truth, within the Land of Earth, Iwagakure was the absolute authority. "Persuasion" likely meant nothing more than sending a letter or a formal notice.

Assisting in establishing distribution stations? That was less about support and more about tracking their movements.

As for protection—while it seemed reasonable on the surface, it could just as easily function as surveillance.

In other words, these seemingly generous terms were not only benefits, but also a form of control and monitoring.

And yet, despite that, Rokushiro understood that these conditions required almost no real resources from Ōnoki.

But for him—and more importantly, for Natsuhiko—these were exactly the kind of conditions they needed.

In fact, he was certain that Natsuhiko would agree without hesitation.

At the same time, Ōnoki clearly had his own goals.

He wanted to build a relationship with the newspaper organization, gain further benefits in the future, and possibly even leverage it for greater influence.

More importantly, he had likely taken an interest in Rokushiro's current identity.

With all of this in mind, Rokushiro quickly formed a plan of his own.

He would agree to tilt the newspaper's stance slightly in favor of Ōnoki when necessary, and ensure that the profits within the Land of Earth were taxed and submitted to Iwagakure according to local regulations.

Most importantly, he subtly hinted that if Ōnoki supported him and helped secure his future position in certain matters, then he would, in turn, offer even greater support and cooperation.

That was exactly the kind of promise Ōnoki wanted.

In fact, Rokushiro's words aligned perfectly with Ōnoki's expectations, and from that point onward, everything became much simpler.

"Nara Rokushiro really is a talent," Natsuhiko murmured with quiet appreciation.

After reading through all the reports, Natsuhiko couldn't help but shake his head with a faint smile.

To be honest, Nara Rokushiro had been a last-minute decision—something he had chosen in a "throw him into the river and see if he swims" kind of way. He truly hadn't expected this guy to bring back such a pleasant surprise.

Then again, Konoha was never short on talent. Natsuhiko had always known that much; otherwise, it wouldn't have stood as the strongest village in the shinobi world.

So while Rokushiro's performance was impressive, it wasn't something that required excessive reflection.

Of course, appropriate rewards would still be given without hesitation. As for what exactly those rewards would be, that could wait until Rokushiro returned.

"Still… I can't just agree to never assigning him similar missions again. The Nara Clan really is far too lazy for their own good."

Natsuhiko was quite familiar with the temperament of the Nara Clan, and he had no intention of letting Rokushiro slack off so early in his career.

Setting the report down, he began to think about the next steps in handling the current situation.

According to Rokushiro's report, Ōnoki had inquired about the identity of the newspaper's chief. That meant Natsuhiko needed to make some preparations.

Although Rokushiro would be the primary point of contact with Ōnoki, the mysterious "Chief" would still need to appear once or twice at minimum.

"If Ōnoki hasn't suspected that the newspaper is backed by a hidden village, then he must have assumed it's some kind of civilian organization. Otherwise, he wouldn't be willing to cooperate with Konoha's ANBU at all."

"In that case, the selection of personnel becomes critical. I need to carefully choose someone to eliminate that old fox's suspicions."

Ōnoki trusted Rokushiro, but that trust was delicate. After all, having ruled over Iwagakure for so many years, he had long since turned the Land of Earth into a monolithic structure under his control.

More importantly, someone as intelligent as him would naturally understand just how dangerous the influence of a newspaper could be.

So in order to keep him cautious—and ideally compliant—everything had to be carefully prepared.

If he wanted the newspaper to smoothly enter the Land of Earth, and to secure its long-term development, there was no room for carelessness.

"If necessary, I might have to go there myself."

Whether through disguise or Transformation Jutsu, he could attempt to handle it personally. And if that still wasn't enough…

Natsuhiko's expression shifted slightly.

Then he could simply use one of his "identities" to mislead Ōnoki.

The appearance of his Tailed Beast personas alone would be enough to cause a massive stir.

But if only a very small number of people were aware of them, then it wouldn't necessarily be unacceptable.

Most of the danger surrounding those identities stemmed from the fact that other villages also possessed Tailed Beasts.

No one would willingly accept the threat of something powerful enough to potentially annihilate an entire village.

But if the strength behind it was overwhelming enough, then they would have no choice but to accept it.

And in some cases… that kind of pressure might even be beneficial.

"I remember there was some organization in that anime Gundam—the 'Celestial Being' or something like that—using overwhelming force to force the entire world into peace…"

Peace.

For Natsuhiko, the word itself was both useful and useless.

But at the very least, this seemed like a good opportunity to let one of his identities officially appear in the shinobi world, while also giving the newspaper organization a strong push forward.

"Still, this needs more thought. I'll decide after careful consideration."

"Right now, the most important issue is still Kumogakure."
