Making herself clear, Adelyn was about to rush out. However, a light tug on her sleeve suddenly made her pause.
She halted and turned to look back, only to see Eira holding onto her sleeve and looking up at her.
"Mama, wait …"
Adelyn stared at her before asking, "What is it, sweetie?"
The little girl blinked at her before pressing her lips into a thin line.
"Mama, you are forgetting something."
"I am forgetting something?" Adelyn repeated, trying to remember in the process.
However, her brows simply remained knitted in confusion as she couldn't think of anything she had forgotten.
Clueless, she looked back at the girl, waiting for her to tell her.
Eira stared at her for a moment too. Then, folding her fingers slightly, she gestured for Adelyn to bend down toward her.
Adelyn did as she was asked.
The next second, the little girl wrapped her arms around her neck, pulling her mother closer before pressing a gentle kiss on her cheek.
