Lyra's POV
I was back to being conscious.
"Thanks." Pressure built up on my cheeks and slowly moved down to my feet. which kept me in place until I felt less compelled by her words, and then I dared to look at the girl swirling.
I could stay here all day and stare and get distracted, but time was passing by.
"Alisha, let's go down to business, shall we?" She stopped, then stared at me, her lips upturned in a wicked smirk, and then she took her seat beside me.
"Yes, human village." Back to my reality, my sense of purpose came back crawling. I stared far ahead where the brightest light in the capital beamed in the night; it was the supposed human village.
"I heard they were guarded by dragons." I scoffed at her remark; of course they would be guarded. The dragons wouldn't want anyone to freely enter there to conceal their secret.
"How would we maneuver it? Can we climb over the fence? We would go behind it and then boost each other. You are tall enough to boost me, and then I will find a way from the inside to help get you over, or we can both build boosts from both the inside and outside."
It wasn't a bad idea for a start, we needed to get into the village. Viewing it from outside will make us no different from the rest of them out here who thought they were being transported later to greener pastures. If this human village was true and not a dumping site for the dragons, how come none of them from the inside came out to testify?
Why was it so guarded? If they preached freedom, the humans might have been exposed to dark magic for them to accept their fate too quickly. The story about no creature being innocent was good, but the dragons were not just any creatures; they were disobedient to the truce. They were barbarians.

Alisha and I had already gone over the plan, and it had been simplified enough to be followed religiously. We would first get close enough to see the formation of the guards by the gate and see how high the walls were. If they were too high to be boosted over, we would have to devise a distraction to get into the village.
Quietly, with precise vigilance, watching each side and our back, we finally approached the very bright village, and to our greatest surprise, two male guard dragons stood there.
"Hot hot."
"Shhh." I covered her mouth with my hands.
Dragons were of different kinds, even among the same clan. Just like werewolves, we had the lycans, who were gods among wolves; the alphas, who were rulers, the betas, who were high chiefs, the gammas, who were soldiers; and the omegas, who were prey and slaves. We were all born into roles by our gods.
The dragon had the same separation, but unlike the wolves, the lowest division in the dragon capital were ethereal looking, they looked as tough as lycans themselves and as beautiful and well crafted.
The said guards, who were standing boldly before the very huge gates, were ethereal-looking.
Their skin was darker and olive-looking; they were giant-like, with white waistcoats that covered their…
"We wouldn't stand a chance against one of their feet." Alisha said the moment I removed my hands from her mouth, forcing me to cover them again.
They were tall, I have read of them. They were born protectors and different from other dragons I had seen all day, and they were rare too, unlike other dragons who could fully transform to their human-looking form, these kinds couldn't—they permanently looked half dragon.
The pictures of them we were shown in the pack made them look so hideous that seeing one of them in real life made my mouth part in adoration; they were more feminine than masculine.
Their jaws were soft, and they had shiny silver plates below them, which, if I wasn't mistaken, were scales. They had white snow-like hair flowing down to their knees, and their eyes were like flames, brighter and scarier than the rest of the dragons.
Both of them had horns protruding from behind their heads, which then curved toward their faces, and everything below their faces was perfectly defined muscle. glossy muscles, I wanted to feel it.
"He should choose me at the blooming. Do they have like—" She paused, then shaped male genitalia in the air with her fingers.
"Are you!" Totally taken aback by her lack of urgency and sense of fear, which had placed both of us in trouble, as the next second we had both dragons staring at us. Starstruck by the realization, I pulled her hands.
Placing a finger between my lips, I signaled we took to our feet, as there was a chance we could still escape, all thanks to the tall bushes. We were able to duck and run.
Like thieves being chased with forks and flaming torches, we were too paranoid to run back to safety, the adrenaline could only take us so far before we were crippled by fright, and our legs gave out close to a secluded canopy, east of the direction we had initially come from.
We expected the dragon to run behind us, but instead the sound of wings flapping resounded above us. Too scared to peek, we stood still, quivering under the canopy, a loud sound harassed our ears when the second dragon flew up and almost lowered itself on our canopy.
After what seemed like forever and my tense body had lessened, I exhaled in disappointment; my first attempt to discover the truth was futile, and worse, I had just experienced something totally alien. Strange.
I, Lyra, Alpha above all Alphas, ran from the enemy today. It was totally unnatural, and it held me in a chokehold. Chokehold of resentment.
"Can we go out now?" Alisha whispered.
"We will try again later." Dismissing my feelings, I squared my shoulders and then walked out of the canopy.
"Yay!"
My fingers pressed against my temples.
