I woke up properly somewhere around the part where Cheon gasped my name into the pillow.
Worth it. Absolutely worth it.
"Being late wasn't worth it," Cheon said ten minutes later, her voice coming out stiff as she sat beside me in the back of the Mercedes. "This is inappropriate."
I had my head in her lap, looking up at her while Marco drove us toward campus. The morning sun hadn't quite broken through yet, leaving everything in that pre-dawn grey that made Cheon's light blue hair look almost silver.
"You seemed pretty convinced it was worth it about twelve minutes ago," I said.
Her face went pink. "That was before I checked the time. We should have left forty minutes ago. Now we'll be rushing, and I hate rushing."
"We're not rushing. Marco's got us covered." I shifted slightly, getting more comfortable. "Besides, you're the one who climbed on top of me at four in the morning."
"I was attempting to wake you efficiently."
"Mission accomplished."
