Chapter 57 - MK V-H "Hulk Buster" - Rank Legendary

The speakers were playing 'Sing for the Moment' with Gerhard's voice rather than Eminem's, as Gerhard worked on a very precise piece of equipment. He was welding and controlling dozens of tools at once with Psychokinesis while checking thousands of lines of code across the many PC screens. 

When Hestia walked in, she was assaulted by the sound, but the volume was reduced right away when Gerhard noticed her entering the instant dungeon. 

He had chosen to work inside an Instant Dungeon as he needed the extra time before he wanted to meet the Orks one final time. Time was of the essence once again, as the end of the year was soon approaching and with it, the 13th Black Crusade and the Fall of Cadia. 

Gerhard had decided to try to do something about it, but to do that, he would need a ship to leave the planet; to build one, he first wanted to get rid of the Orks once and for all. He had his fun, and they were useful for bringing him materials, but that was no longer necessary. 

All he wanted now was a Voidshield, which he would add to the Dreadnought Project and his Super Heavy Tank he was currently creating. And he wouldn't mind adding it to the Hulk Buster either. And with the size he had calculated... it wouldn't even be out of place. 

Gerhard had changed the name from Iron Monger to Hulk Buster, and for good reason. 

He stopped working and turned to Hestia, who was looking at the large new MK V-H Hulk Buster, measuring 12.1 feet (3.7 meters), and the 20 feet (6 meters) tall Modified 'Land Raider'.

"Hestia, can I help you with anything?" Gerhard asked. 

'I am merely observing,' she signed.

"I understand. If I may help you with something, please don't hesitate to ask."

Gerhard put his goggles back on and continued his work. He had to make sure not to damage the connectors to his computer. What he was creating was the helmet—the final piece of the new monster.

The faceplate was the most challenging piece of equipment he had worked on so far, simply because he had to add so many small things to a rather small space. 

There was the electronic circuitry background, sensors to pick up his brain waves to manipulate the visual display, the safety guard, a carbon fibre forehead panel, fibre-optic cables, 3D goggles made of liquid crystal, a nose piece with the most powerful and advanced breathing mask feature he had, an oxygen mist dispenser and more. 

He had also replaced the standard version of using his own Mana with using the Mana Core. While it worked off of his Mana, if it were to run out, it was capable of creating its own. And using this, changed how he structured the MK IV entirely.

He made the suit considerably larger, which wasn't a problem anymore, since he had energy to waste. 

He added the Assault Railcannon to his left forearm, which was now large enough to hold it there without a problem. And what a beast it now was.

Apart from that, Gerhard had also spent some time improving the Smart Missiles, giving them more oomph and increasing the maximum number he could hold at once. 

'I have these two weapons here with me. I thought you might like to have a look at them,' Hestia said using ThoughtMark.

Gerhard stopped working and looked at the two weapons she had placed on the workbench. His eyes widened with excitement at the sight of them. Oh yes, he was very interested. 

"What changed, Lady Hestia? I thought you--"

'I changed my mind. You were capable of improving our armour and Executioner Greatblades. I believe you can also do the same with the Adrathic Destructor and the Archeotech Plasma Pistol. Compared to the rest of the spineless Imperium, I believe you stand apart.'

"That means a lot. I will do my very best, my Lady. Please wait for the good news," Gerhard had stood up and bowed in respect. 

Hestia nodded and then looked around the large hall again. Gerhard took it as a sign that she was done 'talking' and continued with his work. Now that he had two weapons of such power as the Plasma Pistol and the Adrathic Destructor, he would change the design of the MK IV-H once more. 

Originally, he wanted to go along with the Lightning Claw and Storm Bolter, but now he might choose to leave the Lightning Claw. The Storm Bolter was still going to be used, of course. Gerhard had, after all, made a breakthrough with his Mana/Force weapons.

Gerhard worked hard on both the MK IV. The Hulk Buster got the biggest upgrade, in terms of physical size and overall power, while the MK IV-S was starting to approach the MK. X Power Armour of the Primaris Marines. And all that while using less space and actually being faster. 

But it was the MK IV-H "Hulk Buster" that broke all manner of norms. It was so insane that Gerhard had to develop a newer chassis for it and even called it the MK V-H.

The Adrathic weaponry, Gerhard integrated into his left Power Gauntlet. By firing with his left hand, which was the same arm that the Assault Rail-Cannon was on, he could fire disintegration beams. 

It was ridiculous. But not even the end of it.

Gerhard placed the Plasma Incinerator, which was a weapon Dreadnoughts would carry, inside his right Lightning Claw. So the left Power Gauntlet had the Adrathic Destructor weapon, while the right Lightning Claw had the Plasma Incinerator. 

Buuuut... that still wasn't all.

This was Gerhard's current weapon, which he was proudest of. And the fact that the skill was a magic skill showed itself in the fact that, per shot, he fired 16 Mana Bullets per barrel. And since he had a twin-linked Mana Storm Bolter, Gerhard fired 32 Mana Bullets per shot. They didn't appear one after hte other, no, they seemed to just materialise at the same time as the shot occurred. 

That's how ridiculous it was. But that was magic. 

Gerhard turned the welder off and took a step back. Finally, he was done with what was his greatest creation yet. The Mana Storm Bolter might be the weapon he was most proud of, but the MK IV-H was his creation in general, which he was most proud of. 

And for good reason. It was absolutely nuts.

"It's marvellous..."

Gehard heard steps and turned around, seeing Hestia look at the Hulk Buster with a complicated expression. She was usually very composed, and she still was, but seeing what she assumed was 'only' a slightly larger Terminator Armour, she wasn't that impressed. Still, she was impressed that I had created this from basically nothing. 

And standing in front of the Hulk Buster was an imposing sight. It was fully packed with weapons, and almost any part of it was capable of unleashing hell on the battlefield. It was a genuine Lord of War, no doubt about it. With this, he could fight Lencillus, and all the former Custodes had something far beyond him: reaction time. 

But the Hulk Buster could take a lot of damage and punch back with apocalyptic force. 

"What do you think?" Gerhard asked. 

'Tall.'

"Haha, yes, it is tall. But if you knew what I packed into it, you'd understand that I had to make it this tall."

'What about mobility? Won't you be a slow and easy target?'

"You ask a good question, but the speed reduction is actually remarkably small, even when compared to the previous version. But the firepower more than makes up for it. And I can fly..."

Hestia looked at Gerhard.

'Fly?'

"Indeed."

'Through the air?'

"That's what flying means, yes."

'But you're still slow.'

"No, actually. 450mph is rather fast for a monster of this size. But, you're of course right, it's not as fast as my other suit. But it's a speeding bullet when compared to Imperial Knights or Titans, and it is powerful enough to take those down."

This made Hestia raise an eyebrow. To take down an Imperial Knight, let alone a Titan, was a serious feat and for Gerhard to claim that he could do that with this, relatively speaking, tiny power armour...

'That's a bold statement.'

"I know. But it's true nevertheless."

'What can it do?' she asked after a moment of contemplation.
