Chapter 22 - Ch 22- Livestream

"Diva! Diva!"

A dense tide of messages flooded in, the screen filled with admiration for the Diva.

After Kojima Miyuki entered the stream, the viewer count seemed to be under a magic spell, skyrocketing at a terrifying speed, reaching over a hundred thousand in the blink of an eye.

Kenji was also stunned, muttering to himself, "Kojima Miyuki? I don't think I've heard of this person before I transmigrated. Could she be... the Nakajima Miyuki of this world?"

He quickly picked up his phone to search and indeed found relevant information.

It turned out that Kojima Miyuki was currently the most popular female singer in Japan. Although she was nearly seventy years old, she was like an eternal superstar, having composed nearly five hundred songs, and was revered as the undisputed Diva of the Japanese music scene.

"He looks so young. How could someone like him write songs like 'One Last Kiss', 'Uchiage Hanabi', and 'Lemon'? These songs are classics among classics. Can someone so young really have that kind of talent?"

"Isn't he just doing this for the money? In today's entertainment industry, people will do anything for money."

"Shut up, he turned off donations long ago! If he was doing it for the money, would he have turned them off?"

"It's definitely not original. Either someone else wrote it for him, or it's plagiarism! At his age, how could he have such great talent?"

Kenji sat there, watching the tide of comments in the stream. He simply gave a calm, slight smile and spoke: "Hello everyone, I am Kenji. 'One Last Kiss', 'Uchiage Hanabi', and 'Lemon' are all my work!"

"He doesn't look like it, I don't feel it! With those looks, he can write a masterpiece like that?"

"Liar! He's so young, how could he possibly write these songs? He's definitely lying!"

"Exactly, how shameless. Packaged by an entertainment company and dares to come out and stream! Does he really think we're that easy to fool?"

Obviously, some people completely disbelieved Kenji's words and voiced their doubts one after another.

"This kind of thing is indeed hard to prove. How about this, I'll sing some other songs. That should prove it, right?"

Kenji wasn't annoyed. He spoke leisurely, a confident smile always on his face.

"Fine, go ahead and sing. I want to hear what kind of tricks you can pull off."

"Forget it, he must have prepared in advance! It's all a setup, don't be fooled by him."

"Yeah, you prepared beforehand, and then you just sing a few songs and claim they're original. How would we know? Who saw you create them? It's probably just plagiarism."

The guy from before who said he would expose Kenji's true colors jumped out again, hopping around in the comments like a clown.

"If you're really talented, then improvise on the spot and show us. If you don't have the skill, then hurry up and shut down the stream." This guy sent a comment to make things difficult, his tone extremely arrogant.

With his 'Capitalist' skill, Kenji knew that there wouldn't be any internet trolls hired by other capital conglomerates in this stream. So, he didn't take this clown seriously at all, his lips merely curling into a slight, disdainful smile.

And indeed, this guy was simply jealous to the point of madness because Kenji was both handsome and talented, so he was intentionally looking for trouble.

However, the words of this jumping clown did indeed influence the others in the stream.

"Yeah, then improvise on the spot! Let us see what you're really made of."

People have a common trait: they love to watch a spectacle. The people in the stream also started following the rhythm, and the comments were full of jeering.

The jumping clown looked at the comments in the stream and felt smug, thinking to himself: "Humph, let's see how you handle this."

Improvising on the spot—how could it be that simple?

For most singers, it was an almost impossible task.

A good set of lyrics requires time to be slowly crafted.

"Fine," Kenji agreed without hesitation, his confident manner seemingly saying: "What's so hard about that?"

"We'll give you a topic. Only then is it real composition; otherwise, it's definitely cheating. Don't think you can just wing it."

"Exactly! If you don't have real skill, don't act like a big shot here."

"And if I do compose something, what will you say?" A hint of defiance flashed in Kenji's eyes.

"Then let this guy with the username 'Sushi Kojiro' stream himself eating shit. Do you dare?" Another netizen gave a bold and provocative suggestion.

"Fine, let's go with that," Kenji was amused by these guys, his lips curling up to reveal a row of white teeth. "Stream yourself eating shit. If you don't dare, then shut up!"

Holding his phone, 'Sushi Kojiro's' face immediately darkened, and then he replied directly.

"What's there to be afraid of?" He gritted his teeth, thinking to himself: "I don't believe you can actually compose something."

"But I'll set the topic, and you'll do the composing!"

'Sushi Kojiro' sneered as he sent the comment, looking as if victory was already in his hands.

Fighting him?

Just wait and see if he doesn't make things impossible for the other guy.

Even if the other person really had talent and could compose, could they really improvise a song based on a topic given by someone else?

Forget about a human, even a god couldn't do it.

"Holy crap, playing for such high stakes?"

"Just say if you dare or not! Stop dawdling."

"If you don't dare, shut down the stream. Stop wasting everyone's time."

The netizens, who loved to stir up trouble, started another wave of momentum, and the comments were full of excited shouting.

"Give me the topic!" Kenji said in the stream, his voice calm and firm.

"Whoa, so brave. I admire that courage."

"Then give us a song about the deconstruction and reconstruction of heroism, depicting self-reflection in adversity, moving forward in fear, and standing up after falling!"

After throwing out the theme, 'Sushi Kojiro' laughed, thinking to himself: "Let's see you compose now. This theme is enough to give you a run for your money."

The stream instantly exploded, and comments flew like crazy like snowflakes.

Even the Diva Kojima Miyuki, who had been silently watching the stream, was stunned. Her eyes widened, and she thought to herself: "What kind of mess is this? And how do you improvise on such a theme?"

"This is simply impossible!" Forget about improvising; even given a year or ten, some singers wouldn't be able to compose it!

The difficulty of this theme was beyond imagination.

"Handsome Onii-chan is still too young. Now you've fallen for it, haven't you?"

"How can anyone compose for such a tricky theme? This is clearly just making things difficult for him on purpose."

"Look at the topic you gave. Is that something a human would come up with? Aren't you just trying to embarrass him?"

"If you search the entire music industry, who could improvise on your topic? This is simply an impossible task."

The stream continued to explode. Even the department heads, along with Natsuka, Kanako, Reina, and Yoshida Saki, were watching the stream with worried faces, secretly breaking into a cold sweat for Kenji.

What should be done now?

This theme was like an insurmountable chasm.

But Kenji sat very calmly in front of a pile of musical instruments. His gaze was firm, as if telling everyone: "This is nothing."

Then he turned and gave the stream a confident look, as if to say, 'Is that it?'

"Come on, how long do you need? Will an hour do?"

"Handsome Onii-chan, you should just admit defeat. This is clearly a trap! Don't push yourself."

"I feel bad for this brother for a second!"

But in the next moment, the sound of an electric guitar rang out like a thunderclap! That stirring melody instantly shook everyone's soul.

The moment the intro started, everyone was a bit dazed because it sounded very powerful, as if there was an invisible force tightly attracting them.

"Kakkotsuketeru tsumori de tokui ni natte" (Getting all cocky over little things)

"Daiji na koto wa zenbu okizari ni shichatte" (Leaving all the important things behind)

"Jibun de jibun o kurushimeteiru shuujin" (Like a prisoner torturing yourself)

"Sanna boku ni sayonara sa Transformation" (Saying goodbye to that self, Transformation)

"Yami ga kowakute dou suru" (What will you do if you're afraid of the dark?)

"Aitsu ga kowakute dou suru" (What will you do if you're afraid of that guy?)

"Ashibumi shiteru dake ja" (If you just stay where you are)

"Susumanai" (You'll never move forward)

The stirring and passionate theme song of Ultraman Nexus, "Hero," suddenly rang out. Its powerful melody and inspiring lyrics were like a heavy hammer, smashing the pit of doubt carefully dug by the opponent.

The entire stream exploded at this moment. The viewers, who were originally somewhat doubtful and observant, were now ignited by this sudden shock.

The screen was filled with words like "Nani?" and "This is too intense!" as extremely shocked comments flew by crazily.

Even the Diva Kojima Miyuki, who had come specifically to listen to music and was a veteran of the music scene, was momentarily stunned. A hint of surprise flashed across her face, but soon, her lips curled into an appreciative smile. She then quieted down, immersing herself in the hot-blooded atmosphere created by the song, listening intently... "Otoko nara dareka no tame ni tsuyoku nare" (If you're a man, become strong for someone else's sake)

"Ha o kuishibatte omoikkiri mamorinuke" (Grit your teeth and protect to the very end)

"Korondemo ii yo mata tachiagareba ii" (It's okay to fall, just stand up again)

"Tada sore dake dekireba" (If you can just do that)

"Hero sa" (You're a Hero)

...When the last note fell, the previously noisy stream instantly became so quiet that a needle could be heard dropping.

Everyone was immersed in the shock and emotion brought by this song, unable to recover for a long time.

'Sushi Kojiro' held his phone, completely stunned. His eyes were wide like copper bells, and his mouth was wide open, but he couldn't make a sound.

His head was buzzing, as if countless bees were flying crazily around his ears.

How could this be possible?

He was full of disbelief. He thought his carefully planned trap of doubt would leave Kenji with no way to fight back, but he didn't expect the other party to resolve the crisis so easily and counterattack in such a shocking way.

Even the department heads, who had been closely watching the stream's dynamics and preparing for any emergencies, were standing there in a daze.

Their eyes were full of shock and confusion because they knew clearly that the President hadn't prepared anything in advance; it was completely improvised.

But this song was really, really too powerful.

That feeling of being full of motivation and having your courage instantly explode just by listening to it was fantastic, as if it could make one see the light of hope in the darkness.

Kenji finished singing, and the stream was still terrifyingly quiet.

However, this silence was only the brief calm before the storm.

Immediately after, a new round of comments erupted like a volcanic eruption, flooding out crazily!

"This is?"

"This song is called 'Hero'. Every one of you can be a Hero!" Kenji smiled, his gaze sweeping across the screen as he introduced it confidently.

"Is this cheating?"

"Holy crap! He really has something! These lyrics, this melody, it's perfect!"

"You're telling me this was improvised? I wouldn't believe it even if you killed me!"

"I know everyone might still have some doubts," Kenji smiled slightly, his smile conveying a sense of composure and confidence, and continued: "Then how about I do another one?"

"Oh my god! Another one?"

"Nani! Is there no end to this?"

Just as everyone's jaws were about to drop in surprise, the intro had already started ringing out like a gurgling stream... "Shizuka ni asayake ga daichi o tsutsundeku" (The morning glow gradually envelops the earth)

"Itsumo to kawaranu yoake" (A dawn no different from usual)

"Haruka ni tsuzuiteku kurikaeshi no naka de" (In the cycle that continues far into the distance)

"Bokura wa shunkan o ikiteru" (We are living in this moment)
