The second session begun few hours later. While Lucian was attending to a personal matter somewhere the technicians approached Adrian.
Now, Adrian sat in the reinforced chair, the biometric sensors cold against his skin, watching the Council technicians through the glass. They were whispering, pointing at the monitors where his vitals were a mountain range of instability.
The air was thin. The vacuum was still active, a localized static that made the bond feel like a frayed wire sparking in the dark.
The heavy, pressurized doors hissed open.
Lucian walked in. The atmosphere in the room changed instantly, the temperature dropping as his presence overwhelmed the sterile environment. He didn't acknowledge the Council observer standing in the corner with a clipboard.
Lucian stepped up to the chair. His expression neutral.
