"Kisaragi, Mokuba, are you all right?!" Kaiba asked worriedly.
"We're fine. With me here, one Duel Computer can't trap us," Kisaragi said.
"Kaiba, you're only showing up now? That lousy computer you made nearly got us killed!" Joey accused.
"Stop barking, mediocrity! That wasn't my mistake. Someone hacked into my company's system," Kaiba said.
"Seto. Everything's all right now, isn't it?" Kisaragi asked.
"Kisaragi, don't worry. I've already removed the intruder from the system." Kaiba's tone softened.
"It was probably the work of some bored fool who couldn't stand the idea of KaibaCorp restoring its reputation through the KC Grand Prix."
"I'll make them regret challenging me!"
After saying that, Kaiba looked toward Isono.
"To be safe, inspect Kaiba Land again immediately. Make absolutely certain nothing goes wrong. If those rats come and cause trouble again, I'll be very displeased. The KC Grand Prix must proceed smoothly!"
"Yes, sir. I'll handle it at once!"
"As for you people, do whatever you want here for now. Mokuba, I'll leave the rest to you."
"Yes, big brother!"
"Kisaragi, come with me. There's a banquet tonight. Come prepare with me."
After saying that, Kaiba took Kisaragi by the hand and left.

"A dress? It isn't one of those huge fluffy gowns, is it?" Kisaragi asked.
"I know you don't like wearing that kind of thing, so I specifically had a famous designer create a dress for you. Go try it on," Kaiba said.
"Fine."
Kisaragi went to the changing room to put on the dress. Naturally, the store clerks helped her change, while Kaiba sat outside, bored, casually flipping through a magazine.
Kisaragi came out wearing an off-shoulder blue evening gown. The diamonds embedded in the dress looked like stars adorning the night sky. The hem was just right, without the slightest exaggeration. Combined with Kisaragi's tall, slender figure and long white hair, she looked as though she had stepped out of a painting.
When Kaiba saw her like that, his eyes froze. It took him a long while before he finally came back to himself.
"Seto? Seto! What's wrong?"
Kisaragi called out to him while waving a hand in front of his eyes.
"Ahem!"
Kaiba coughed deliberately.
"Nothing. Nothing at all. This dress suits you very well. What do you think?"
"I'm not used to wearing this. It's so hard to walk in! If I fall over during the banquet, it'll be humiliating!" Kisaragi said.
"Then hold on to me when the time comes. I won't let you fall," Kaiba said.
"Okay."
"Pack this dress and send it to the banquet hall at the Kaiba Hotel," Kaiba told the manager.
"Yes. We will make sure everything is handled properly."
That evening, at the banquet hall of the Kaiba Hotel, many famous figures and contestants had already arrived. Even Yugi's group was there. The only people missing were Kaiba and Kisaragi.
"Yugi, where did that Kaiba guy run off to? He's the organizer of this tournament," Joey said.
"He's probably preparing something," Yugi said.
The moment Yugi finished speaking, a woman in a yellow qipao with her hair tied into two buns rushed over and tightly clasped Yugi's hands.
"You're Yugi Muto, right? Even though you only came second in Battle City, I watched all your matches!" the woman said.

Meanwhile, Joey and Tristan stared at Kisaragi without moving their eyes. They were practically one step away from drooling.
"Hey, Joey. This place is being broadcast worldwide. If Mai saw you looking like that, I wonder what she'd think," Mokuba teased.
Joey suddenly imagined Mai's furious expression, shuddered, and quickly looked away.
"Isono, are all the contestants here?" Kaiba asked.
"I am terribly sorry, sir. We are still missing one person, and we have not been able to contact him," Isono said.
"Then count him as forfeiting. Start already!" Kaiba said.
"But—"
Before Isono could continue, a voice sounded from behind Kaiba.
"How terribly rude of me. I am Zigfried Lloyd. It seems I arrived slightly late. Thank you for your hospitality, Mr. Kaiba."
Zigfried held a white rose in his hand as he spoke.
"And the lady beside you is your companion? What a beautiful woman."
"Thank you. Tonight's eve festival and the KC Grand Prix are both the result of Seto's hard work. If only there were fewer people here causing trouble or making a mess, everything would be so much better. Wouldn't you agree, Mr. Zigfried?" Kisaragi said with a smile.
At her words, Zigfried's expression changed slightly, but he quickly returned to normal.
"Heh heh heh. Indeed. If someone were to disturb such a splendid event, it would ruin the beauty of the competition."
Kaiba glanced sharply at Zigfried but did not respond to him.
"Then all the championship contestants are now present. Isono!"
