Chapter 67 - Ch 67

The morning sunlight pierced through the tall windows of Fin's bedroom in long, golden shafts, illuminating the wreckage of the night.

The room was unrecognizable. One curtain hung crookedly from its rod, half-torn. The bed was a disaster — sheets twisted and half-ripped from the mattress, pillows scattered across the floor, the duvet kicked into a tangled heap at the foot of the bed. A torn White lace nightdress lay crumpled near the window. The air was thick with the musky scent of sweat and sex.

On the ruined bed, Fin and Marianne lay deeply intertwined.

Fin's body was heavy over hers. His head rested between her full breasts, his face buried in the soft, marked flesh. Red bite marks and faint bruises bloomed across her pale skin. His arms were locked possessively around her waist, one hand splayed across the small of her back while the other rested just beneath the curve of her breast. His softened cock remained buried inside her, their combined release slowly leaking out around him and staining the sheets beneath her.

Marianne's silver-blonde hair was a wild mess across the pillow. One arm was draped over his shoulders, her lips unconsciously pressed against the top of his dark hair. Her thick thighs were still loosely wrapped around his hips.

She stirred slowly.

Her eyelids fluttered open with effort. A dull ache pulsed between her legs and across her chest. For a few disoriented seconds, she mumbled without truly waking.

"Alan… close the curtains…"

No reply came.

She frowned faintly and tried again, her voice thicker with sleep.

"Alan…"

Still nothing.

A cold prickle of unease ran down her spine. She forced her eyes open.

The first thing she saw was not her husband.

It was Fin's dark, messy hair resting against her bare skin. His face was nestled between her breasts, lips slightly parted in sleep. One of his hands was possessively cupping the side of her breast, thumb resting near a fresh bite mark he had left there hours earlier.

The memories returned in a rush — the desperate kiss against the wall, being carried to the window, the way she had moaned and begged, the things she had admitted, the way she had come apart in his arms.

Marianne's stomach dropped.

Her eyes flew wide. She turned sharply toward the antique clock on the far wall.

6:10 AM.

A shaky breath of relief escaped her. The household staff wouldn't be moving about yet. Alain was likely still asleep. No one had seen anything.

But the relief was short-lived.

She looked down at the young man still inside her and felt a wave of shame so strong it made her throat tighten.

What the hell is wrong with you? she thought, horrified. You moaned like a whore for your daughter's boyfriend. You let him fuck you against the window while the whole estate slept. You came so hard you cried. You're disgusting.

Her face burned.

She tried to shift away, carefully attempting to slide out from under him. Her hands pressed lightly against his shoulders as she tried to create distance.

Fin didn't wake, but his arms tightened around her waist in his sleep, pulling her closer. His softened cock shifted inside her with the movement, and a small, involuntary sound escaped her before she could stop it.

Marianne froze.

She tried again, more firmly this time, pushing at his chest and prying at his arm.

He still wouldn't let go.

A low, broken sound left Fin's lips. His brow furrowed in sleep, though his eyes remained closed.

"Clara…" he mumbled, voice thick and pained. "No… please… why are you doing this… Clara… why…"

Marianne went completely still.

The name hit her like a slap.

Fin's face twisted, his grip on her waist tightening painfully for a second before relaxing again. His voice dropped to a broken whisper.

"…why… why did you betray me…"

Marianne stared at the ceiling, her heart hammering against her ribs.

The man who had spent hours fucking her like he owned her body was dreaming of her daughter. Calling out for Clara in his sleep. Begging her not to betray him.

A bitter, ugly feeling twisted in her chest — guilt, jealousy, and self-loathing all tangled together.

Her face hardened with resolve.

Carefully but firmly, she began to peel his arms away from her body. Fin stirred in his sleep, his brow furrowing as he instinctively tried to pull her closer. Marianne gritted her teeth and used more force this time, prying his hand from her waist and shifting her hips until his softened cock slipped out of her with a wet, quiet sound. A small trickle of his cum followed, sliding down the inside of her thigh.

She moved quickly after that.

Sliding out from under him, she stood on unsteady legs and retrieved her crumpled white lace nightdress from the floor near the window. The delicate fabric was torn at one strap and stained in places. She pulled it over her head anyway, wincing as the material brushed against the bite marks on her breasts and the soreness between her legs. Her fingers worked quickly through her silver-blonde hair, trying to tame the wild mess into something less incriminating.

As she smoothed the dress down over her hips, her eyes drifted back to the bed.

Fin lay on his stomach now, one arm stretched across the space she had just vacated. Even in sleep, his face looked younger — almost peaceful. The same young man who had fucked her so roughly against the window hours earlier now looked almost innocent.

A heavy, painful truth settled over her.

We broke him.

Clara had betrayed him. And she — his future mother-in-law — had taken advantage of that brokenness. They had both played a part in turning this once gentle, passive young man into someone capable of what he had done to her last night.

Marianne's throat tightened.

She walked back to the bed and looked down at him for a long moment. Then, slowly, she leaned over and pressed a soft, lingering kiss to his lips.

"I'm sorry," she whispered against his mouth. "For everything."

She slipped out of the room.

It was 6:17 AM.

The hallway was quiet and empty, bathed in the pale morning light filtering through the tall windows. Marianne moved quickly toward her own room at the far end of the corridor, barefoot and trying to look as composed as possible.

She was only a few steps from her door when she heard the soft creak of movement.

A young maid, carrying a stack of folded linens, had just turned the corner from the staff staircase. Their eyes met.

The maid froze.

Marianne's hair was messy, her nightdress torn at the shoulder strap, and there were faint red marks visible along her collarbone. The scent of sex still clung faintly to her skin. There was no mistaking where she had come from.

The maid's eyes widened in shock. She quickly stepped back around the corner, pressing herself against the wall and covering her mouth with one hand to stifle her gasp.

Marianne didn't look back. She slipped into her room and closed the door, her heart pounding.

The maid stayed frozen in the hallway for nearly a full minute, her mind racing. She had only been working at the Main House for three months. She knew better than to get involved in the family's private matters — especially anything involving Master Fin.

She decided to stay silent.

For now.

Two hours later

Eleanor's private dressing room was filled with soft morning light. Three maids moved quietly around her as she stood before a tall mirror. She wore a deep emerald silk robe tied loosely at the waist, beneath which was a cream lace bra and matching high-waisted panties that accentuated her mature, voluptuous figure. Her rich brown hair had already been brushed into an elegant low chignon.

The same young maid who had seen Marianne earlier was among them. She had been nervous and distracted all morning, nearly dropping a brush twice. The other two maids eventually finished their tasks and prepared to leave.

Just as they were about to exit, the young maid spoke up, her voice slightly strained.

"Madam… may I speak with you privately for a moment?"

Eleanor's cold blue eyes met hers in the mirror's reflection.

The other two maids immediately understood and bowed before quietly leaving the room, closing the door behind them.

Once they were alone, the young maid clasped her hands tightly in front of her, visibly struggling.

"I… I saw something this morning, Madam. Very early. Around quarter past six. I was bringing linens to the east wing when I saw Miss Marianne coming out of Master Fin's room."

She swallowed hard before continuing.

"Her nightdress was torn. Her hair was messy. She looked… like she had spent the night there. She went straight back to her own room afterward."

The maid braced herself, expecting anger, shouting, or immediate consequences.

Instead, Eleanor remained perfectly still. Her expression didn't change. She simply continued looking at her own reflection, her face as cold and unreadable as ever.

After a long silence, she finally spoke.

"Go to Marcus," she said calmly. "Tell him I sent you. Take whatever amount of money you require and leave. Disappear. If I ever hear even a whisper of this from anyone else… you will not live long enough to regret it."

The maid's entire body trembled. She had expected many reactions — but not this cold, clinical efficiency.

"Yes, Madam," she whispered.

She turned and left the room as quickly as her shaking legs would allow.

Once the door clicked shut, Eleanor remained standing in front of the mirror for a long moment. Then she slowly walked over to the tall window overlooking the estate grounds. She pulled the emerald silk robe a little tighter around her body.

Her voice was barely above a murmur as she gazed outside.

"Does my son like aged women now…?"

A small, cold smile touched the corner of her lips. But the smile didn't reach her eyes. If Fin had been standing there, he would have recognized it immediately — not amusement, but a quiet, dangerous anger.

Eleanor Harrington rarely allowed her emotions to surface. But those who knew her well understood that the colder her expression became, the more lethal her intentions were.

Later That Morning – Private Helipad

Marcus stood waiting beside the helicopter, his posture straight and respectful. Yet when Eleanor approached, his eyes lingered on her for a fraction of a second longer than necessary — the same quiet, restrained desire he had carried for over twenty years.

"Madam," he greeted.

Eleanor didn't slow her stride.

"Where are they?"

Marcus's expression hardened.

"In one of our warehouses on the outskirts. Surrounded. No one gets in or out."

Eleanor nodded once. Without another word, she stepped into the helicopter. Marcus followed, closing the door behind them. As the aircraft lifted into the sky, Eleanor gazed out the window at the shrinking manor below.

"Do they have families?" she asked quietly.

Marcus answered without hesitation.

"The guard has a girlfriend. The head butler has a son."

Eleanor's voice remained calm, almost detached.

"Send teams to both locations. Now."

Marcus didn't question her. He simply pulled out his phone and began issuing orders in a low, efficient tone.

The Warehouse – Outskirts of the City

The helicopter landed on the wide concrete lot outside a massive Harrington warehouse. Eleanor stepped out, her black heels clicking sharply against the ground as she walked inside without slowing.

In the center of the vast, empty space, two men knelt.

One was a young guard, his face battered and swollen, breathing heavily through broken ribs. The other was Raynold, the head butler who had served the Harrington family for decades. Unlike the guard, Raynold made no attempt to struggle. He simply knelt with his head bowed, as if he had already accepted his fate.

Eleanor walked past the guard without sparing him a glance. Her cold blue eyes fixed solely on Raynold.

She stopped a few feet away.

"Why?" she asked, her voice quiet yet cutting. "You have served this family long before I was even married into it. And still, you chose to betray us?"

Raynold's shoulders trembled. He couldn't bring himself to meet her gaze.

"Just get on with it," he whispered hoarsely. "Kill me. Please. I can't even breathe properly anymore."

Eleanor studied him for a long moment. Then she turned her head slightly toward Marcus.

Marcus stepped forward and held up his phone. A live video feed played on the screen — Raynold's son moving around his apartment kitchen, completely unaware he was being watched.

Raynold's eyes widened in horror.

"Madam… please," he begged, his voice cracking. "My son didn't know anything. He's innocent. Kill me. Just kill me. Please."

Eleanor took a step closer, her expression unchanging.

"You think I would let anyone walk away after they became the cause of my son's pain?" Her voice dropped, colder than before. "Don't you know me at all, Raynold?"

Tears streamed down the old butler's face.

"They threatened me…" he choked out. "I didn't want to do this. But they had a video of my son… with another man. They said if I didn't help them, they would release it. Eleanor, please… if you have even an ounce of respect for everything I've done for this family, spare my son. He's all I have left."

Eleanor closed her eyes for a brief second.

When she opened them again, they were utterly empty.

"No one lives after hurting my son, Raynold," she said softly. "No one."

She turned her back on him.

"Kill him," she ordered. "And kill his son."

Raynold's desperate scream tore through the warehouse.

"NOOOOO—!"

At that exact moment, a sniper's bullet pierced his son's skull on the live feed. A split second later, one of the guards standing behind Raynold fired a single shot into the back of his head.

The sound echoed sharply through the empty space before fading into silence.

Eleanor stood outside the warehouse a few minutes later, staring at the distant skyline. Her nails dug into her palms, drawing thin lines of blood, but her face remained perfectly composed.

Marcus walked up behind her quietly.

"Shall I deal with the guard?"

Eleanor shook her head.

"No," she said. "Fin will deal with him."

She turned to face Marcus, her eyes sharp and decisive.

"Call the Echo team here. I want every single guard and maid at the Main House replaced by the end of the day. Since my enemy believes he can use the people around me…" Her voice dropped into something colder, more dangerous. "I will flip the entire board."

She began walking back toward the helicopter, her voice calm but laced with quiet, merciless intent.

"Let's see how long he can hide from me."
