Early morning.
The first rays of sunlight pierced the lingering sea mist, illuminating Water Seven's ship graveyard.
An uncanny stillness filled the air.
Franky — the iron-hearted shipwright who once stood against the Sea Train wearing nothing but briefs — knelt motionless in the sand.
Like a devout pilgrim before a sacred relic, his large hands trembled as they traced the smooth surface of the reborn hull.
"Something's wrong… something's wrong…"
He muttered hoarsely.
"This isn't wood… Iceburg, touch it! This isn't any Adam wood I've ever seen!"
"Iceburg… tell me I didn't fry my brain sniffing engine oil…"
Beside him, Iceburg had lost his usual composure.
He removed his top hat.
With his gloved hand, he tapped along the hull joints again and again. Each knock deepened the pallor in his face.
"No seams…"
"I checked the keel. I checked every deck beam."
He swallowed.
"Franky… this ship didn't get repaired."
"It grew."
"It was reborn… with the ship spirit intact."
A ship that grew?
Franky shuddered.
That phrase shattered thirty years of shipwright knowledge.
Slowly, he lifted his head toward the gleaming ram figurehead.
Under the rising sun, its eyes seemed alive — quietly gazing toward the sea.
"It's a miracle…" Franky whispered.
"The Klabautermann… Merry's spirit… answered our prayers?"
Iceburg turned, eyes drifting toward the human-shaped crater in the sand — and the sleeping figure within it.
"I don't think so," he murmured.
"I think… a god passed by."
Such a miracle could never remain hidden.
Within one morning, all of Water Seven erupted.
"Extra! Extra! A dead ship came back to life in the scrap yard!"
"I saw the light last night! Brighter than the sun! Then that wreck turned brand new!"
"My cousin works at Galley-La — he swears Iceburg and Franky were kneeling all morning saying it's divine craftsmanship!"
Rumors spread like wildfire.
And, as always, they grew wilder.
"Did you hear? The man who revived the ship is Mr. King! The same one from the newspaper who smashed Crocodile!"
"He's in Water Seven?!"
"Someone saw him sleeping at the ship graveyard! He fixed the ship because the arguing was too noisy and he threw a piece of wood at it!"
"What?! Casually?! I'm going to nap there tonight! My fishing boat leaks too!"
Citizens, pirates, and bounty hunters flooded toward the restricted zone near Shipyard No. 1 like sharks sensing blood.
When they saw the ship bathed in morning light — its hull radiating a warm glow like something from legend — gasps replaced disbelief.
Meanwhile, far away, Morgans of the World Economic News Agency exploded with manic delight upon receiving the report.
"Photographs! From every angle!"
"This is front page material!!"
Completely isolated from the outside frenzy…
In a suffocatingly quiet back-alley inn, grief hung thick in the air.
Usopp slumped over the table, shoulders shaking.
Tony Tony Chopper buried his face in his hooves.
Nami clutched her money pouch tightly, eyes red, feeling for once that wealth meant nothing.
Roronoa Zoro leaned against the wall, silent, sword resting at his side.
Sanji smoked wordlessly, grief clouding his gaze.
The verdict had been delivered.
The keel was broken.
The Going Merry could not sail.
Their companion from the East Blue was gone.
"It's my fault…" Usopp whispered. "If I'd noticed sooner…"
The door burst open.
Monkey D. Luffy stood there, face solemn beneath his straw hat.
"I've decided."
"We're going to say goodbye to Merry."
Before the words could settle—
"Luffy! Something crazy happened!"
A Franky Family member stumbled inside, eyes wide with disbelief.
"The Merry! Your Merry—!"
"It's alive!!"
"What?" Usopp snapped upright.
"Don't joke like that!" Nami shouted, voice trembling.
"It's true! The whole city's talking about an immortal ship! And someone named King… you just have to see it! It's glowing!"
"Immortal… ship?"
"King…?"
Their grief shattered.
Hope ignited.
"GO!"
Luffy bolted out first.
The others followed without hesitation.
They didn't understand.
But even the smallest chance was enough.
When they pushed through the crowd and reached the edge of the graveyard—
time stopped.
There she was.
Their ship.
No longer broken.
No longer scarred.
Her hull shone like polished ivory beneath the sun.
The mast stood proud.
The white sails carried their straw hat emblem brighter than ever.
The ram figurehead gleamed softly — its eyes alive with warmth.
She rested quietly.
Like a child waiting for family to return.
"Merry…?"
Usopp's voice broke.
Tears streamed freely.
Sanji's cigarette fell.
Zoro's grip loosened.
Luffy exploded forward.
He wrapped his arms around the ram's head and buried his face against it.
"MERRYYY!!!"
"Thank goodness! You're okay!! You got stronger too!!"
Laughter and sobbing mixed into a single sound of overwhelming joy.
Usopp, Chopper, Nami — all rushed forward, clinging to their reborn companion.
They cried without restraint.
Only Nico Robin remained still.
Her calm gaze drifted past the reunion…
past the miracle ship…
to the quiet beach beyond.
A hooded figure slept in a shallow sand pit.
King.
The man who ended Crocodile's conspiracy.
The man who revived a ship.
What had he truly done?
"So noisy…"
In the sand pit, KING rolled over irritably.
Why is it loud even here?

He never heard it.
At that same moment, newspapers scattered from news birds across the sky, drifting to every corner of the seas.
The front page showed Luffy embracing the shining ram's head, tears streaming down his face.
Beneath the photo, bold headlines roared:
"Want an immortal ship? Try your luck on the beach where Mr. KING napped!"
