Chapter 83 - CHAPTER 83

"So dark…"

"So silent…"

"Where… is this place?"

An endless void stretched in every direction, vast and oppressive beyond comprehension. There was no light to guide her, no sound to anchor her thoughts, no presence to remind her that life still existed somewhere beyond the abyss. Only absolute nothingness remained.

Saint Roselith Seraphina felt as though she had been cast into a world painted entirely in black ink.

Even when she extended her Kenbunshoku Haki outward, searching with every fragment of concentration she possessed, nothing answered her call. No aura responded. No life stirred. No fluctuation disturbed the emptiness surrounding her.

There was only one answer.

Black.

An all-consuming darkness that swallowed everything.

She hated it.

Her Voice of All Things strained desperately, reaching farther and farther into the void in search of even the faintest whisper. Yet nothing came back to her.

Not even silence.

Only emptiness.

Just like before.

She couldn't see.

She couldn't understand.

She couldn't act.

A familiar helplessness clawed at the edges of her mind, dragging old fears back to the surface.

Was this a dream?

Or…

Was this death?

A memory slowly resurfaced.

A hospital room.

Cold. Sterile. Lifeless.

The rhythmic beeping of machines echoed faintly in her memory while the scent of disinfectant lingered like a ghost she could never escape.

Back then, she had been trapped.

No control.

No strength.

No future.

But now…

Even those sounds were gone.

Even that fragile connection to existence had disappeared completely.

Then

Clang! Clang! Clang!

A sharp metallic echo shattered the endless void.

Her body reacted instinctively.

Her arm moved.

A blade swept through the darkness.

For the first time since arriving in this place, realization struck her.

She could still move.

Which meant…

She was not dead.

"This place… what is it?"

Mary Geoise OutsideThe Holy Land trembled violently beneath the aftermath of the battle.

The surge of power erupting from the manor had already alerted the hidden guardians of Mary Geoise. Agents of CP0 rushed toward the epicenter at full speed, while others remained stationed across the Holy Land.

Their duty was absolute.

Protect the Celestial Dragons at all costs.

Within the shattered remains of Roselith Manor

"Adolf, report the situation."

The voice came from a man dressed in white, his face hidden behind a raccoon-like mask. His tone was calm and measured, yet every word carried sharp authority.

His presence alone radiated danger.

Controlled.

Disciplined.

Deadly.

He was one of CP0's elite commanders, a rival forged through the same brutal training that Adolf himself had survived.

Ever since the chaos caused by Fisher Tiger, the defenses of Mary Geoise had been strengthened to unprecedented levels. CP0 now stood at the forefront of that security.

"Do you not have eyes?" Adolf snapped back, his voice strained with effort. "Then stop talking and help!"

His body trembled violently.

Veins bulged across his arms as sweat poured down his face.

He was nearing his limit.

His Paramecia ability the Shield-Shield Fruit was being pushed far beyond its natural capacity.

The invisible barriers surrounding the battlefield flickered continuously, distorting under unbearable pressure.

Inside those barriers

Two monsters clashed.

One radiated blinding light.

The other devoured everything in darkness.

"Tch… still unpleasant as ever."

The masked man clicked his tongue, though he still stepped forward without hesitation. Placing a hand against Adolf's shoulder, he released a strange flow of energy directly into Adolf's body.

Steady.

Controlled.

Refined.

Adolf's breathing immediately stabilized.

The reinforcement allowed the barriers to harden once more, becoming denser and far more resilient than before.

"Don't collapse yet."

His ability was a rare Paramecia-type Devil Fruit:

The Stamina-Stamina Fruit.

The very foundation of combat itself

Endurance.

Vitality.

Sustained strength.

Inside the Barrier"Yasakani no Magatama."

Golden light erupted across the battlefield.

Countless photons condensed into destructive beams before raining down like a divine storm.

The attacker

Admiral Borsalino, better known as Kizaru.

Light itself.

Relentless.

Precise.

The beams tore through the confined battlefield before striking their target directly.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Explosions rippled endlessly throughout the barrier as smoke consumed the battlefield.

But

No damage.

The black-armored figure crashed into the ground below, unmoving yet completely unbroken.

Kizaru narrowed his eyes slightly.

"That's troublesome~"

By now, he understood the nature of the problem.

It was not merely durability.

A thin, nearly imperceptible layer covered her body a defensive coating resembling Busoshoku Haki fused together with an unknown power.

His light could not pierce it.

At the same time, her attacks could not touch him either.

A perfect stalemate.

He could disperse into light itself.

She could endure everything he unleashed.

Neither side possessed a decisive advantage.

"Finally some space~"

Kizaru rolled his neck slightly as golden particles drifted around him. The confined battlefield had limited his movements considerably.

Now there was room to maneuver.

Even so…

"This won't end easily~"

High Above The Room of FlowersDeep within the most secret chamber of Mary Geoise

A shadow sat upon the Empty Throne.

Watching.

Silent.

Ancient.

Imu slowly raised a hand.

A Den Den Mushi activated instantly as a surveillance feed flickered to life before the throne.

"Locate it."

The command was simple.

Absolute.

The screen shifted immediately before locking onto the battlefield below.

There

A streak of golden light.

And opposite it

Darkness incarnate.

Seraphina moved wildly across the battlefield, her black blade cutting through the air with terrifying force. Yet there was no structure to her attacks.

No discipline.

No refined swordsmanship.

Only instinct.

Only destruction.

Each strike shattered the earth beneath her.

Each missed attack carved through walls and structures alike.

Roselith Manor continued collapsing around them.

Walls crumbled.

The ground split apart.

Even Mary Geoise itself trembled under the violence of the clash.

Outer PerimeterAdolf quickly adjusted his strategy.

Instead of attempting to seal the entire battlefield completely, he began deploying layered barriers with precise positioning.

Selective.

Controlled.

Efficient.

The barriers focused only on protecting what truly mattered.

Victor.

Kuina.

The servants.

The guards.

Everyone else had already retreated from the area.

"Teacher…!"

Kuina's fists trembled violently at her sides as she stared toward the battlefield.

Her voice shook.

She could do nothing.

Absolutely nothing.

That realization cut deeper than any blade she had ever faced.

Bruce stood beside her silently, observing the battle with sharp eyes and a calculating expression.

He understood the truth immediately.

At this level of combat, interference meant instant death.

Still, his gaze never left Seraphina.

Waiting.

Searching.

Hoping for even the smallest opening.

Inside the DarknessSeraphina stood alone within the endless void.

Still trapped.

Still surrounded by darkness.

But now

A voice echoed through the abyss.

Not from outside.

From within.

"Didn't you want strength?"

"Didn't you want to change the world?"

"Didn't you swear to protect what matters?"

The darkness pressed inward, attempting to crush her existence beneath its overwhelming weight.

To consume her completely.

"Will you stop here?"

"Because you cannot see?"

"Because you are afraid?"

Her grip tightened around her blade.

Even within the void, she slowly raised it.

"You are not weak."

"Not anymore."

Even blind

She had fought.

Even alone

She had endured.

Even abandoned

She had risen.

"Darkness does not define you."

"Fear does not bind you."

Her voice sharpened.

Her will ignited.

"Even if the path ahead is swallowed in darkness…"

"Even if the world itself stands against me…"

Her Haki began to stir.

Faint at first.

Then stronger.

Then

Unyielding.

"I will move forward."

"Even if it costs everything."

"I will not stop."

"I will not break."

"I will not fall."

Even in death, she would continue advancing.

Not retreat.

Not surrender.

But move forward

Toward her ideals.

Toward change.

Toward the world she would carve apart with her own hands.

RealityThe black armor trembled.

Then

It changed.

The wild movements slowed noticeably, becoming sharper and more refined with every passing second.

Controlled.

Focused.

Deliberate.

Kizaru's eyes narrowed slightly.

"Oh?"

Something had shifted.

The storm had not ended.

But for the very first time

It had direction.
