"Hm hm hm~"
Asa hummed a cheerful tune as she walked through the busy streets, her steps light and relaxed.
She still could not believe it.
This body, a body fused with a devil, was actually going to become a mother.
The biggest worry in her heart had finally disappeared.
She was an orphan, so she longed for family more than anything else. Because she had always felt broken, the idea of finally becoming whole meant even more to her.
Having a child with Cael had always been one of her deepest wishes.
She never liked noisy children, but if it was her own child, that was completely different.
A child born from her and Cael would be the best in the world.
"Hehehe…"
Asa giggled softly while rubbing her still flat stomach.
"Hey little one, say 'Mama' so I can hear it."
"Tch."
Inside her mind, Yoru finally lost her patience.
"Asa, it's just a pregnancy. That's enough already."
Asa ignored her completely.
"Baby, Mama has a split personality."
"The one with the scars on her face, the one who isn't as pretty or smart as Mama, that's your second mother, Yoru~"
"Don't be scared. She won't hurt you. Right, Yoru?"
"Huh?" Yoru's expression twisted in disbelief.
"I'm not as pretty as you?"
"My scars and eyes are full of character. I'm obviously prettier than you, okay?!"
"Really? Cael doesn't seem to think so."
Just then, Asa's stomach growled.
She had been out all morning.
And now she happened to be walking through a busy food street.
The smell of food filled the air and made her even hungrier.
For the sake of the baby, she had to be careful with what she ate. Nothing too heavy or too spicy.
She walked into a cartoon themed family restaurant and sat near the window.
"Excuse me," Asa said politely, "I'd like an Oyakodon. Please make sure it's well cooked."
"Of course, please wait a moment."
While waiting, Asa searched online for dietary advice for pregnant women. She planned to memorize everything carefully.
A few minutes later, a steaming bowl of Oyakodon was placed in front of her.
Chicken, eggs, and onions simmered together and poured over rice. It was soft, warm, and easy to digest.
When she was little, her mother had once brought her to eat this dish. That taste had stayed in her memory all this time.
Now, she was about to become a mother herself.
Asa had only taken a few bites when someone suddenly sat down across from her.
"I want five extra large kids' meals."
The waitress looked surprised but still nodded and wrote it down.
Asa wiped the corner of her mouth and looked up.
"Sister Fami?"
Fami tilted her head slightly after finishing her order.
"Third sister, are you really going to get full with just one bowl of Oyakodon?"
"I think so. I don't eat much."
Fami tapped her fingers lightly on the table.
"But you're not alone anymore. For the baby's sake, you should eat more."
Asa blushed slightly.
"So you already know…"
Fami nodded calmly and pointed at Asa's bowl.
"That piece of chicken looks good. Can I try it?"
"…Sure."
Asa felt that Fami was still just as strange as ever.
One moment she said Asa was not eating enough, and the next she was reaching into her bowl.
Without hesitation, Fami picked up several pieces of chicken and ate them.
Soon, the five kids' meals arrived and filled the entire table.
Fried chicken nuggets, corn soup, pasta, burgers, and fries.
All food children loved.
Of course, Fami loved them too.
Looking at the mountain of food, Fami hesitated for a moment, as if making a difficult decision. Then she took a burger and placed it in front of Asa.
"This is in exchange for earlier."
"…Okay."
Asa slowly unwrapped it and took a small bite.
Such a strange sister.
She could give away something extremely expensive without hesitation, but sharing food clearly felt painful to her.
Within a few minutes, more than half of the food was already gone.
After satisfying her hunger, Fami looked directly at Asa.
"Asa, can you let Yoru come out for a moment? I have something important to tell her."
Asa hesitated.
Ever since she fused with the War Devil, her own will had gradually become stronger. Most of the time, she was the one in control now.
And honestly, she did not want Yoru coming out too often.
She had her own reasons.
She needed time alone with Cael.
And more importantly, Yoru had become stronger recently. The fact that she could turn things into weapons without even touching them made Asa uneasy.
What if one day Yoru tried to turn Cael into a weapon?
That thought alone was enough to scare her.
Still…
Just for a moment should be fine.
If anything felt wrong, she would take control again immediately.
Asa's body trembled slightly. The black in her eyes faded and the crimson rings of War appeared. At the same time, faint scars spread across her face.
Yoru had taken control.
Without saying a word, she grabbed the corn soup in front of her, took one sip, then casually threw the rest out of the window.
She leaned back in the chair and put her feet on the table.
"So," Yoru said coldly, "what do you want?"
Fami stared silently at the spilled soup outside the window. Her expression was calm, but her fingers tightened slightly.
She forced herself to stay patient.
If she lost her temper now, the conversation would go nowhere.
After a few seconds, she spoke calmly.
"Asa is going to have a child. After seeing that, have you thought about your own child?"
Yoru frowned deeply.
"What are you trying to say?"
Fami smiled faintly.
"Very soon, your child will descend in Japan."
"She is one of the daughters you are most proud of. The one who inherits the name of War."
Yoru's eyes narrowed slightly.
"Who?"
Fami's smile widened.
"The Gun Devil."
