Chapter 136 - 136: The War Devil’s Decision

Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo.

Family Restaurant.

Yoru and Fami sat side by side, watching battle footage on a tablet in silence.

The video streamed in real time from a low orbit satellite, capturing the Gun Devil's movements and the chaos it unleashed.

Yoru's expression was serious now, her earlier indifference completely gone.

Fami ordered another set meal. She dipped fries into ketchup and stuffed them into her mouth, speaking between bites with clear excitement.

"Look at that, Third Sister. Your daughter is really lively."

"In just a few breaths, she wiped out hundreds of thousands of people."

"If nobody stopped her, she could probably wipe out humanity in a few hours."

She smiled, amused.

"Honestly impressive. She's on a whole different level compared to a small fry like me."

"Too bad she picked the wrong enemies."

"Gun..." Yoru bit down hard on her lip.

Her eyes stayed locked on the screen, watching the Gun Devil, the dark red attack behind it, and the eerie halo forming above.

Then everything blurred.

Cael and Makima were moving too fast for the satellite to properly capture. The footage broke into distorted fragments before stabilizing again.

What remained was a crimson ocean.

And the scattered remains of the Gun Devil.

It was over.

Fami glanced at Yoru. "Third Sister, your precious daughter lost."

"She didn't lose," Yoru snapped immediately. "Cael and Makima are just abusing broken abilities. Gun is stronger than both of them."

Fami smiled faintly.

"You can make all the excuses you want, it won't change what happened."

She crunched another fry.

"Look at Cael's hand. That black hole, he's already about to clean up what's left of her."

"Even something as strong as the Gun Devil is about to be reduced to nothing."

"If that's not losing, what is?"

Yoru's breathing grew heavier.

Her chest rose and fell as tension built.

Bang.

She slammed her hand on the table.

"Shut the hell up, Fami!"

"I said she didn't lose!"

Fami remained calm. She gently patted Yoru's thigh, her tone soft.

"Relax. You don't want to stress yourself."

"You and Asa share a body, and you're carrying Cael's child."

Inside their shared mind, Asa spoke up quickly.

"She's right, Yoru. The Gun Devil killed so many people. Isn't it better that Cael stopped her?"

Yoru's expression twisted.

She bit her lip until it nearly bled.

"Asa, are you stupid or just pretending?"

"My daughter is a devil."

"Killing humans is what she does, same way you people eat and breathe."

"That's normal."

"What, you expect devils to live peacefully and fall in love with humans?"

She let out a bitter laugh.

"Or is it because it's not your child dying?"

"Of course you can sit there and talk like that."

"I..." Asa fell silent.

She knew the Gun Devil was a monster.

But she also understood something else now.

If it were her own child, she wouldn't be this calm either.

Fami licked ketchup from her finger, watching closely.

Then she spoke again, her voice light but deliberate.

"A woman might be weak, but a mother isn't."

"Yoru, are you really going to sit here and watch your child get crushed?"

Yoru froze.

A dangerous thought surfaced in her mind.

It went against everything she had planned.

Time stretched. Each second felt unbearably long.

Two seconds passed.

Yoru lowered her head, whispering to herself.

"The Gun Devil carries the name of War. She's my pride."

"I want humans to look at her and feel fear, to understand that behind her stands something even stronger."

"Me."

Her eyes slowly sharpened.

"So she can die."

"But only in battle."

"Not like this. Not like some useless failure."

Yoru lifted her head.

"She's my child. She does not lose."

Inside, Asa panicked.

Yoru had made her decision.

She tried to take control back.

It failed.

Yoru's resolve was overwhelming.

Fami smiled, satisfied.

"That's more like it. Power always comes with a price."

Yoru closed her eyes and raised her right hand toward the window.

"Gun, you've always made me proud."

"You fought well. You never truly lost."

Her voice softened.

"So come back to me."

"Come back to your mother."

Iwate Prefecture, Pacific Coast.

Cael held up the black hole in his hand, preparing to erase what remained of the Gun Devil.

Something felt off.

Killing something like that should have given him a huge reward. At least something noticeable.

But nothing came.

He frowned.

"The hell? Don't tell me you're still alive after all that..."

Then it happened.

The corpse moved.

The Gun Devil's remains twisted violently, compressing into a torrent of black energy.

It shot toward Tokyo at insane speed.

Cael's eyes narrowed.

"Well shit... called it."

The Gun Devil's consciousness flickered in confusion.

She couldn't understand.

Her own mother had just killed her.

Being turned into a weapon by the War Devil meant true death. No rebirth. No return from Hell.

"Roar! Mama... why?"

Her voice echoed across Japan.

And it didn't stop there.

Mount Elbrus, Soviet Union.

Boom.

The containment facility exploded.

Twenty eight percent of the Gun Devil's flesh surged into the sky, racing toward Tokyo.

"Roar! Mama, I'm coming back!"

Northwest China, Gobi Desert.

Another explosion tore through the ground.

Eleven percent broke free, blasting through underground defenses.

"Roar! Mama, who's messing with you?!"

Across the world, explosions erupted one after another.

Devils that had consumed pieces of the Gun Devil burst apart.

All of it converged.

All of it headed for Tokyo.

"Roar! Mama, what's going on?!"

Shinjuku, family restaurant.

Yoru's right arm began to change.

A thin layer of black material formed over her skin, shaping into a sleek, elegant gauntlet. It gleamed with a metallic sheen, radiating dense destructive power.

This was the result of her choice.

One hundred percent of the Gun Devil.

Gun's Right Gauntlet.

Yoru stared at her hand.

At first, guilt flickered across her face.

Then it faded.

Replaced by something else.

Power.

A smile slowly formed on her lips.

"This power..."

Her voice dropped.

"It's worth it."

The world shifted in that moment.

Yoru, the War Devil, now held the full strength of the Gun Devil.

No longer insignificant.

No longer overlooked.

She had become the most dangerous being on the planet.
