Chapter 58 - 58: Chaos Across Japan

"Emergency news! Emergency news!"

"A Special Grade Cursed Spirit has appeared in Hokkaido. Its technique seems fire-related, and it has already burned down half the County Seat. Casualties cannot be counted!"

"A Special Grade Cursed Spirit has appeared on Shikoku Island, turning a small city into a forest!"

"The Kukuru Squad dispatched by the Zen'in Family has been completely wiped out!"

"A tsunami has appeared along the coast of Kyushu Island, likely caused by a Special Grade Cursed Spirit!"

"An ultra-large Tower of Human Heads has appeared in Okinawa… Is this provocation by the Cursed Spirits?!"

"Bastards!"

The Intelligence Department descended into chaos. The Higher-Ups convened urgently, and Tengen even made a rare appearance.

As images flashed on the big screen, the room fell silent. The final footage revealed Jogo's figure, stepping across charred corpses with a playful, disdainful smile at the camera.

Zen'in Naobito slammed his fist on the table. "Bastards! How dare mere Cursed Spirits provoke us like this! I'll go right now and—"

"That's enough, Zen'in Family Head!"

Gojo Shion interrupted firmly. "You cannot defeat this Cursed Spirit!"

"..."

He continued, "Satoru has fought this Cursed Spirit. By destructive power alone, it rivals a Special Grade Sorcerer! The other two Special Grade Cursed Spirits on Kyushu and Shikoku are at a comparable level!"

The room erupted in astonishment.

Naobito returned to his seat silently. Even a Special Grade Cursed Spirit is no match for a true Special Grade Sorcerer. If these three can rival one, the only ones capable of stopping them were the strongest trio of Jujutsu: Shion, Satoru, and Suguru.

Shion sighed. "The three of us will handle them."

He added thoughtfully, "I suspect their plan of scattering exactly three Calamity Cursed Spirits across Japan is meant to draw us away. Tokyo will likely descend into chaos the moment we leave."

At that, Tengen stood. "Gojo Family Head, I will set a comprehensive Barrier in Tokyo to contain the situation."

Shion only nodded, inwardly groaning. The moment Tengen spoke, the probability of disaster seemed to spike.

Sunny Coffee Shop.

"So, the three of you are leaving town?"

Amanai Riko asked, holding her coffee.

Shion smirked. "Yeah! Only a powerhouse like me can handle these Calamity Cursed Spirits!"

"Tch~"

Riko tapped Shion's coffee cup. The liquid froze instantly.

Shion flipped the cup over, dumping a chunk of ice out, his face twitching.

"You jerk…"

At the counter, Shinohara Haruko's red eyes glimmered.

Geto Suguru hesitated, then ruffled her hair. "Don't worry. I'll avenge them."

Haruko's uncle's family had died in Hokkaido the day before yesterday, attacked by Jogo.

"Shion warned me that Tokyo may descend into chaos once we leave," Suguru continued. "Haruko, take the staff and evacuate to Tokyo Jujutsu High."

Having known each other for years, Haruko nodded heavily. "Okay. I'll wait for your return. Please be careful."

The next day.

Shion, Satoru, and Suguru arrived at the airport.

"Are you heading to Hokkaido?"

Suguru nodded. "Haruko's relatives died there."

"Tch~"

Shion and Satoru rolled their eyes simultaneously.

Shion considered for a moment. "Then I'll go to Shikoku. That Cursed Spirit Hanami dared to rescue a captive in front of me last time. Time to settle the score."

Satoru frowned. Leaving Dagon, the weakest of the four, for him? But Dagon's body contained immense Cursed Energy; it might already be stronger. And a tsunami? On its home ground, Dagon's destructive capability could rival Jogo.

After finalizing their plan, each boarded a plane to their destination.

Meanwhile, in Tokyo, Kenjaku stirred immediately upon hearing news of the trio's departure.

Tengen activated his ultimate Barrier Technique, forming an Inescapable Net across Tokyo.

In a certain sewer, Mahito scratched his head. "This is so complicated!"

Kenjaku sneered. "Nothing special. These Cursed Barrier Techniques existed a thousand years ago. Modern barriers only have more energy and intensity; the principles haven't changed."

"Idiot Tengen, has your body aged over a thousand years, or your brain too?" Kenjaku muttered.

He pulled out strange Cursed Tools and Runes. "Uraume, place this over there. Mahito, hold that."

After preparation, Kenjaku faced the Barrier and formed hand seals.

"Anti-Curse: Disintegration!"

Black Runes spread across the Barrier, eroding it.

Inside the Tomb Chamber, Tengen's eyes shot open. "This is bad! The Barrier is showing anomalies…"

Bang—

Glass shattered. Jujutsu Sorcerers throughout Tokyo noticed immediately. The citywide Cursed Barrier dissolved rapidly.

"What's happening?"

"Did something happen to Lord Tengen?"

"Report immediately to the Higher-Ups!"

In the sewer, Kenjaku wiped sweat from his brow. "It's done! Tokyo is ours to do with as we please."

Mahito's perverse smile widened, ready to slaughter humans indiscriminately.

Kenjaku warned, "Don't get carried away. Our goal is panic; don't linger in one place."

"Got it!" Mahito dashed to a busy street.

Watching the humans, madness spread across his face. "Ahaha… There are too many prey; I can't even decide how to play with them all!"

"Abnormal situation on Ginza Street! Multiple Cursed Spirits appeared!"

"The three Advance Teams have lost contact!"

"Captain, check the footage!"

"Those Cursed Spirits used to be humans! Bastards!"

Kyushu Island.

Shion had just stepped off the plane when a message from the Intelligence Department arrived.

Opening it, he froze, then smashed his phone violently onto the ground, kicking it repeatedly.

"Tengen, you useless bastard!"

"I f***ing hate your guts!"
