Dante could not read after the events that he had just gone through.
That purple haired girl was the only thing in his mind, just thinking of her made his legs shake and a smile open up in his face.
Even so, he was here for a different reason. The grand Library of Athena, It's a familiar name to Dante but he decided it must have been a coincidence.
he discovered it's name when Ana told him about it earlier before they sat down.
Here the number of books were immeasurable, so was the amount of knowledge held within, Dante being faced with that many options earlier on he decided to go with the basics first, three history books, two geography books and one fairy tail collection.
He gazed upon them, he was unsure of what to read first and his agitated heart clearly wasn't helping,
But then he sighed deeply and decided to start with basic geography, he was currently in a tough spot, and overthinking something that should be simple would just put him in an even worse situation.
With that in mind he started to read and write down the most important information.
Here the planet earth is divided into 3 main continents and a few archipelagos. The continent to the south, the biggest and "strongest" one: Caragule, the continent Dante's currently in.
The continent to the most north, the smallest one but the one with the "strongest" army and people: Viltrum.
And finally the continent to the west, the merchant country: Calunica, it's combat power is the weakest but its financial power and support is what makes it what it is.
All of the continents and countries in its respective continents abide by a monarchy system and have a global law, coin and systems.
Reading that part Dante's eyes narrowed at his book, global system coin and laws? But then... Where would be their individuality? I guess I will discover it later on...
Upon realizing he really wouldn't be able to find answers to his questions he decided to just keep reading, what else could he do?
Calunica's is practically the capital of the world, having the richest kingdoms and most part of the mercenaries are held there because of their financial power, Also has alliances with all of the other continents.
Caragule's is a continente which is controlled by only one kingdom alongside the church.
Finally Viltrum, they are recluded from the rest of the world and their technology and general advancements are way behind the rest of the world, but they compensate it with their sheer strength.
After writing down all the information he found Dante decided to take a break, his fingers were starting to get sore and his focus was slipping off.
he wondered if he could take the books home for a while, so after some time pondering it he finally came to the conclusion that he could just ask the receptionist.
He quickly stood up and headed downstairs in a controlled pace, looking at his feet and remembering his earlier anxious state he couldn't help but grow a little proud smile in his face.
After finally going down the staircase he looked around and quickly spotted Elsa organizing some books on the shelf with her usual dead face from earlier.
Uhm... Hey Elsa
Dante called out from behind, he was still slightly insecure and his voice was shaking a little bit, but after talking with Ana he was surely better than before.
Elsa slowly turned to him, he could clearly notice a smile shift in her bored expression but he decided to overlook it
Dante right? Did you finish reading?
She spoke up to him with a slightly curious expression, her face still wasn't animated at all but it was much different from her usual dead self, curious maybe?
No I did not... It is a lot to finish just in the hour I was here...
He quickly responded to her words, the reason he was here was exactly because he hadn't finished the books.
And never that my brain rotted self could read all of that in one sitting
He quickly thought to himself and a small grin crossed his face with his own joke that only him could understand in this new world.
I see then... You look different from earlier... Something happened?
She asked him while slightly tilting her head to the side, her eyes were staring deeply at his and he couldn't help but notice just how adorable she is and blush a bit.
Well... I just... I made a friend... That was it... I made a friend
He was hesitant while responding, it was clear that his words had a deeper meaning, seeing that Elsa gave him a small nod and a small smile.
It was his first time seeing her smile and he was slightly startled by it...
Have I changed so much in just a small period of time?...
He asked himself while he touched his own chest...

Since the moment he came to this world he hadn't had a single moment of joy or clarity, so sensing that he could rely on someone took a lot of weight out of his chest.
Elsa thought for a second then she seemingly came to a realization.
A friend hm? Could it be lady ana?
She looked like she had just solved a puzzle and was excitedly waiting for his answer, he was really surprised by her shift of behavior but it isn't like it was unwelcome
So he smiled wryly and responded

Just by saying this the smile on his face grew a little larger, it was clear that it was a very welcome topic for him.
Elsa then nodded, clearly proud of herself for figuring it out
Isn't it expected it was her since we were the only two in the library?...
Hearing that Elsa's face grew a big smile and she poked his face

Dante grew a confused expression, the two of them were there, certainly it was only the two of them...
But why did he grow a sense of unease when she said that...

Suddenly an unknown voice spoke up from behind,
Dante instantly had chills running up his spine, who was this? He slowly turned around and spotted an old man.
His appearance was refined, he had a sharp white mustache, he was dressed all in white with a hat, a Rob and tailored trousers, his eyes seemed gentle at first and he had a cane to walk, but what stood out the most about him was the fact that he had a white rabbit mask on covering the upper half of his face, and his stature, the man was 5"3 at best.
Dante was scared but he with his voice shaking managed to get out a question
Uhm... Sir?
His voice was shaking and cold sweat started to form in his forehead.
Seeing his reaction the old man perked up and laughed lightly.
Are you scared boy?
He asked with an amused smile and while putting one hand in Dante's shoulder.
Dante did not feel any malice from the old man so it relieved his fear a lot, but still it was too unusual of a situation for him to be a hundred per cent calm.
But before he could answer the old man's question Elsa voice cut through with a "playful" tone
Joseph? Would you not scare him?
Joseph laughed once more at Elsa's words, Dante only watched the exchange, unable to keep up and with shivers running down his spine.
I'm not scaring him on purpose
Elsa sighed deeply and glared at him, although it did not carry much heat
Anyways, Dante? This is Joseph... Well to understand things fully you need to know two things first
Dante's Expression lit up upon hearing he would get an explanation on why suddenly this man appeared behind him.

When she started listing the things that Tyson did she got a little bit annoyed but then she stopped, sighed then went right back into it, it looked like she had deep emotions in that sigh, but Dante did not know what it was and wasn't close enough to her to ask.
He created this library 300 years ago... And... Its books aren't its main focus...

Dante asked with a little hesitant voice, what could possibly be the reason for a Library if not for its books?
Elsa waited for a second, the tension was killing Dante, but then finally she started speaking again
