Caesar had decided to park his car a distance away so she would not hear or see him pull up into the driveway and start running again. He treaded the woody path until the villa came into view. It had one lit room that he was sure was the room she occupied.
Caesar walked up to the villa's backdoor and managed to get it open by busting up the lock, then he let himself in. He walked in from the kitchen and made his way to the living room where he found Lenette seated on a couch her eyes glued to the screen before, it was a laptop screen, she looked like she was focused on her work so much so that she did not notice him.
He stood at the entrance of the wide frame that opened to the living from the kitchen, he watched her for a while, waiting for her to finally notice. And as if he willed it into existence, she paused then turned her head to the side as though in slow motion, and her eyes met his. He watched her face flash through a number of reactions, then settle on fear and alert.
