Chapter 161: News
"A Pokémon from a breeding house? It seems Ash, you've stumbled upon quite a find."
Oak knew that Ash's trip must have been quite fruitful.
"It's alright. I did catch a few good Pokémon this trip. Oh, by the way, Professor, did that Drowzee cause any trouble?"
Ash had only simply trained the Drowzee he got from the Team Rockets duo for a few days before sending it back to Professor Oak's Laboratory, asking Professor Oak to help train it, as Oak was more familiar with such tasks than him.
"It's quite well-behaved. It even helped quell the commotions caused by your other Pokémon."
"That's good. Professor, this is the GS Ball. I originally wanted to hand it over to you on Shamouti Island, but then I saw you surrounded by a bunch of reporters, so I didn't want to bother you, and then I forgot." Ash took out the GS Ball.
"Is this the GS Ball? It certainly looks different from a regular Poké Ball." Professor Oak toyed with it for a bit, then looked at Ash, "Ash, you've had it for so long, have you noticed anything different about it?"
"Professor, the material of this Ball is different from ordinary Poké Balls. I sensed the aura of Ho-Oh and Lugia on this Ball. I estimate that the person who made this Ball must have obtained the Rainbow Feather and the silver wing."
Ash revealed some of what he knew.
He vaguely guessed that this Ball was created by someone in the future and then brought back to the past by Celebi.
"Ho-Oh and Lugia, you say? Then I probably know which direction to research in." Professor Oak said thoughtfully.
Seeing several people following behind Ash, Professor Oak quickly said, "Don't just stand there, come in and sit down."
"Professor Oak, I am your super fan! These are my observation manuscripts as a Pokémon observer. I would like to ask you to take a look, please!" Tracy nervously bowed to Professor Oak and presented his written materials.
"Oh, you're Tracy! Young man, your spirit is excellent, let me see."
Professor Oak was very willing to give guidance and Helping Hand to younger generations who had a high passion for Pokémon.
"Hmm, good. You observe very carefully, and your sketching skills and data records are very detailed. It's clear that you, Tracy, have a deep understanding of Pokémon. Are you interested in staying and becoming my student to research Pokémon together?"
Professor Oak was quite satisfied with Tracy's foundation, and Ash had also told him a lot about Tracy, so he was happy to have another Helping Hand.
"Can I really stay?"
The happiness came so suddenly that Tracy couldn't believe his ears.
"Since the Professor said so, then it's fine." Ash said with a smile.
It would be good for Tracy to stay. Hopefully, he could help Professor Oak break his habit of eating instant noodles.
"Professor, has Gary returned?"
Ash still remembered Gary's retreating figure after he caught Lugia earlier.
"Him? He's already back, and he even caught an incredible Pokémon. He was probably stimulated by you, Ash. But this kid seems to be leaving soon. It looks like he's going to the Johto region to participate in the Silver Conference. Ash, you should want to go too, right?"
Professor Oak knew that Ash would definitely not want to miss out on regional League events.
Ash nodded, "Yes. I already agreed with Gary to participate in the Silver Conference when I was in Vermilion City."
He wasn't too interested in the big Pokémon Gary caught. Even if Gary really caught a Legendary Pokémon, it wouldn't be his opponent. He had Mewtwo that could Mega Evolution, and an Ancient Dragonite with an incredibly high HP bar.
He also had three Ancient Species at the Secondary God level. With Dragonite riding his face, how could he lose? Even if Tobias came, he would have to obediently kneel and sing surrender!
"That's good. When you get to the Johto region, remember to catch a few more Pokémon."
"Don't worry, I'll remember. Oh, by the way, Professor, I'll leave this with you to examine when you have time."
Ash took off the Master Ball containing Articuno.
"This is…"
Seeing the Master Ball, Professor Oak's eyes were filled with fanaticism.
"Articuno, caught on Twin Islands. Professor, its temper might not be very good, so be careful when you research it~" Ash reminded him.
Of course, even if Ash hadn't reminded him, Professor Oak wouldn't rashly release the Pokémon inside.
"Don't worry, I understand. Come on, I'll give you a good tour of the Laboratory."
Professor Oak mainly led Tracy, as Tracy had chosen to stay now.
As for the others, they were actually not unfamiliar with Professor Oak's Laboratory. Serena had been brought there many times by Ash during the Summer Camp activities.
"Wow! As expected of Professor Oak, there are so many Pokémon stored here." Tracy looked at a room filled with Poké Balls.
"These are all Pokémon from Trainers who came from Pallet Town and are temporarily boarded here. They are also important research subjects for me. Normally, the Pokémon in these Poké Balls are released to roam freely in the backyard."
"So Ash's Pokémon are here too?" Serena curiously searched for Ash's Poké Balls.
"My Pokémon should not be in their Balls at this time."
Ash's Pokémon all had their own training plans and would usually only return for meal times. The rest of the time, they were training themselves.
"That's right, Ash's Pokémon are indeed very diligent. Ash, let me tell you some good news: your Bulbasaur has become the administrator of the backyard."
After the Overlord Venusaur wore the evolution stone, it transformed into its initial Bulbasaur form, so Professor Oak did not call it Venusaur.
