"Caw!" (I summoned you here not because I have tasks for you, but to bestow upon you the abilities befitting the Rainbow Hero.)

Ho-Oh emitted a beam of colorful light toward Ash.

"Ding! Congratulations to the host for receiving a portion of Ho-Oh's divine authority and gaining Regenerator."

[Regenerator: Can cause fainted Pokémon to be reborn. When used on humans, it can heal all injuries and illnesses. Note: After being revived by this ability, the Pokémon's level, experience, etc., will all reset to zero, and the revived Pokémon's memories will also be temporarily sealed.]

Ash glanced at the system notification and was startled. Ho-Oh was making quite a heavy investment, even bestowing a portion of its divine authority upon him.

So, what on earth did that rascal Mew say to Ho-Oh?

It was one thing to have Raikou come to pass on a message, but now it was blatantly giving out benefits.

With these benefits given, he didn't even know if he should still challenge Ho-Oh.

Taking the benefits and then beating the giver up—wouldn't that be a bit too much?

After some deliberation, Ash decided not to challenge Ho-Oh. He would just catch Goh later after giving it a good thrashing; that would be enough.

"Ho-Oh, thank you! I will fulfill the duties of the Rainbow Hero." Ash pledged his loyalty to Ho-Oh.

Ho-Oh nodded, seemingly very satisfied.

Before leaving, Ho-Oh used its divine power to bestow a massive blessing upon Seiko, Sorrel, and the wild Pokémon present.

Under the radiance of the divinity of Life, everyone felt their bodies relax and their spirits lifted, while the wild Pokémon were restored to their peak state.

Ash even saw a few visibly aged Pokémon whose signs of old age vanished, rejuvenating them after being bathed in the colorful light from Ho-Oh.

Watching Ho-Oh fly away, Ash turned his gaze back to Goh, who was sulking in the corner.

He walked over and asked: "Marshadow, have you thought it through? Do you want to continue sleeping in Tianshan Mountain waiting for the next Rainbow Hero, or come with me to see the world outside?"

"Marsha~" (Hero, I can go with you, but you need to defeat me first!)

Marshadow flashed and moved to an open area, taking a battle stance.

Seeing this, Ash silently took out a Master Ball. "I choose you, Mewtwo!"

It wasn't that he didn't want Pikachu to fight, but he was determined to catch Goh!

Mewtwo stared at Marshadow, intense fighting spirit burning in its eyes.

"Marsha~"

Marshadow used Shadow Punch on Mewtwo, swinging its fists several times, sending dark purple Energy Balls flying toward Mewtwo.

"Mewtwo, use Psychic." Ash commanded.

Mewtwo raised its right hand, using its telekinesis to deflect all of Marshadow's attacks back at it.

Seeing its own moves reflected, Marshadow didn't panic. With a Shadow Sneak, it darted behind Mewtwo and raised its hand to punch it.

Mewtwo was at ease even in such close-quarters combat; while blocking with one hand, it kicked Marshadow.

Marshadow was kicked several meters away, looking at Mewtwo with a bewildered expression. If it wasn't mistaken, Mewtwo was just a Psychic-type, so how could its combat skills be so superb?

Frustrated, Marshadow roared, unleashing its full aura like a Saiyan transformation. Finally, an absurd scene occurred: it, which was originally Goh, turned itself green.

"Hei-duo-duo..."

Marshadow launched seven consecutive attacks, with seven blue Energy Balls flying toward Mewtwo.

Seeing this attack, Mewtwo's eyes grew more serious.

Ash shouted: "Mewtwo, MEGA Evolution!"

Mewtwo instantly completed the evolution, switching to its Mega Mewtwo Y form.

"Mewtwo, use Psystrike."

Mega Mewtwo Y converted its telekinesis into tangible waves, destroying six of the seven Energy Balls Marshadow had launched, while the last one was kicked back by Mega Mewtwo Y.

"Marsha!"

Unconvinced, Marshadow stomped its heel and charged toward Mega Mewtwo Y.

It gathered all its energy into its right foot, attempting a flying kick at Mewtwo.

However, after the Mega Evolution, Mewtwo's telekinesis was maxed out. With a single Psychic, it locked Marshadow in mid-air, and immediately followed up with a Psybeam.

BOOM!

With an explosion, when the dust settled, Marshadow had already exited its full-power "turning itself green" form.

It supported itself with one hand, panting heavily.

Mewtwo, on the other hand, was completely unscathed, staring intently at Marshadow.

Sensing Mewtwo's gaze, Marshadow said to Ash: "Marsha." (Hero, I surrender.)

"That's good!"

Ash took out an empty Master Ball and handed it to Marshadow.

Marshadow didn't hesitate anymore, tapping the button on the Poké Ball with one hand, allowing Ash to complete the final step of capturing it.

However, after the Poké Ball indicated the capture was complete, Marshadow popped back out on its own and voluntarily entered Ash's shadow.

"Ding, detected that the host has captured Marshadow. Rewards obtained: Z-Power Ring 1; 18-type Z-Crystal set 1; Pikachu Z-Crystal 1; Eevee Z-Crystal 1."

After handing Cross over to Officer Jenny, Ash's group checked into the Pokémon Center.

The next day, the three of them arrived at a classic fork in the road with three different directions.

"Mr. Ash, let's part ways here. I plan to go investigate the legends of Moltres, Zapdos, and Articuno next!" Sorrel said.

Seiko also spoke up: "I suddenly miss my mother, so I want to go home. What about you, Mr. Ash?"

"Me? I'm going to find my friends first, then go home to rest for a few days, and then start my journey in the Hoenn region." Ash replied.
