The days following Heaven's proclamation did not bring immediate war.
Instead, something far more dangerous began to unfold.
Silence.
Across the realms, kingdoms, sanctuaries, covens, and hidden territories watched carefully, weighing the announcement from Heaven against the growing rumors surrounding the heir of Balance. No armies marched yet. No great battles erupted.
But alliances began shifting quietly.
And that kind of movement could reshape the world long before the first sword was drawn.
Within Lucien's palace, the tension was no longer hidden beneath strategy or careful planning. It lingered openly in the corridors, in the quiet conversations of guards, in the uneasy whispers of visiting envoys.
Everyone understood the truth.
Soon, every realm would be forced to choose a side.
Celestia stood in the library chamber that overlooked the inner gardens. The vast room was filled with ancient tomes and celestial relics collected across centuries, but her attention rested on none of them.
Her hand moved slowly across the curve of her stomach.
The child growing within her was still too small to show itself clearly, yet she could feel his presence now more strongly than before. The energy within her had changed—subtle, powerful, and ancient.
The heir of Balance was awakening.
Behind her, Lucien entered the chamber quietly.
"You've been here all morning."
Celestia did not turn immediately.
"I needed to think."
Lucien walked closer until he stood beside her near the tall window.
Outside, the palace gardens stretched into the distance, peaceful despite the storm gathering beyond their borders.
"About Heaven's declaration?"
Celestia nodded.
"They forced the realms to react."
Lucien folded his arms.
"That was their intention."
Celestia finally looked at him.
"And now every ruler, every ancient being, every hidden power will start calculating their advantage."
Lucien's expression darkened slightly.
"Yes."
Naamah's voice suddenly echoed from the doorway.
"They already have."
Both of them turned.
Naamah stepped inside, tossing a sealed parchment onto the table.
"First response from the neutral territories."
Lucien opened it quickly, scanning the message.
His brow lifted slightly.
"Well."
Celestia studied his expression.
"That bad?"
Lucien handed her the letter.
"Not exactly."
She read it carefully.
The message came from one of the oldest neutral sanctuaries—an ancient order that had avoided both Heaven and Hell for centuries.
Their response was cautious but clear.
They would not recognize Heaven's declaration until Celestia had the opportunity to present her defense before the realms.
Naamah shrugged.
"They're basically saying they want proof before choosing sides."
Celestia exhaled softly.
"That buys us time."
Lucien nodded.
"Yes. But not much."
Naamah leaned back against the wall.
"Other realms will start sending responses soon."
Celestia placed the letter down.
"And some of them will support Heaven immediately."
Lucien's gaze remained steady.
"Yes."
Before the conversation could continue, the air in the chamber shifted.
A familiar ripple of infernal power moved through the room.
Naamah smirked.
"Well. That was fast."
A dark portal opened near the far wall.
From it stepped Lucifer.
As usual, the King of Hell appeared completely relaxed, dressed in elegant black attire as though he had arrived for a casual visit rather than a political crisis.
Behind him followed Beelzebub.
Lucien sighed faintly.
"I was wondering how long it would take you."
Lucifer smiled warmly.
"My dear nephew."
He glanced around the room.
"You look tense."
Naamah folded her arms.
"Heaven just declared war on half the realms."
Lucifer shrugged lightly.
"Technically they declared war on one person."
He looked toward Celestia.
"And her impressive collection of allies."
Celestia met his gaze calmly.
"You came for a reason."
Lucifer nodded.
"Yes."
He walked slowly toward the table.
"Word of Heaven's proclamation has reached every corner of Hell."
Beelzebub added quietly,
"And the demon lords are… interested."
Lucien raised an eyebrow.
"Interested how?"
Lucifer smiled slightly.
"They want to see what you do next."
Celestia frowned.
"They expect us to react."
Lucifer nodded.
"Of course."
He leaned casually against the table.
"The moment you reveal the Petition Scroll, Heaven loses its moral authority."
Lucien studied him carefully.
"And you want that."
Lucifer's golden eyes gleamed.
"Oh, very much."
Celestia shook her head.
"That would ignite open war."
Lucifer spread his hands.
"Yes."
The room fell silent for a moment.
Finally Celestia spoke.
"And you think that outcome benefits Hell."
Lucifer tilted his head.
"My dear Celestia… conflict always benefits someone."
Naamah muttered,
"That was not reassuring."
Lucifer laughed softly.
"But I didn't come to pressure you."
He glanced at Celestia's stomach briefly.
"Not today."
Celestia caught the look.
"You know."
Lucifer's smile returned.
"Of course I do."
Lucien stepped slightly closer to Celestia.
Lucifer raised his hands in mock surrender.
"Relax. I have no intention of harming the heir of Balance."
Beelzebub added calmly,
"Quite the opposite."
Celestia frowned slightly.
"What do you mean?"
Lucifer's expression turned thoughtful.
"Because if Heaven truly intends to eliminate you…"
His golden eyes gleamed again.
"…then the child becomes the most important being in existence."
Silence filled the chamber.
Lucien's voice lowered.
"Explain."
Lucifer looked toward the window where the distant sky still carried faint traces of Heaven's proclamation.
"The moment your son is born…"
He turned back toward them.
"…every realm will understand that Balance has returned to the world."
Celestia felt a strange chill move through her.
"And that will frighten them."
Lucifer smiled slowly.
"Yes."
Naamah shook her head.
"So basically our future nephew is about to become the most controversial baby in history."
Lucien sighed.
"That's one way to describe it."
Celestia placed her hand over her stomach again.
Outside, the wind began to rise across the palace grounds.
The realms were shifting.
Heaven had made its declaration.
Soon the rest of creation would respond.
And when that moment arrived—
the fate of Balance, Heaven, and Hell would begin to collide in ways none of them could fully control.
