Although Arata did not know how Aleister had come to identify him as the biblical number "111," it was undeniably advantageous for him.
Any existence associated with biblical numbers is extraordinary. For instance, Laura Stuart, the Supreme Bishop of the Church of England, represents the biblical number "333." On the surface, she is the Archbishop who stands at the summit of Anglicanism. In the deeper magical framework, she corresponds to the tenth angel among the thirty that obstruct the perfect union of the world's laws. Conversely, she also embodies the demonic aspect that spreads corruption and impurity.
Such beings hold the rank of "Secret Chief," entities that serve as sources of knowledge transmission. Aiwass, in particular, is the Secret Chief associated with the rank of physical law, and is regarded as a crucial key for humanity to escape the control of fate.
"Heh. That is a rather thought provoking answer. Then what are your intentions?" Aleister's electronically synthesized voice carried a faint trace of amusement.
There was no definitive response. Was it because the time had not yet arrived, or because "111" had not yet formed a concrete objective?
"For now, my position stands with Academy City, so long as Academy City does not drive me into despair. Let us temporarily set aside that topic. I have other matters to discuss with you, Chairman."
Arata shrugged. Conversing about epoch defining concepts with this unfathomable old monster truly gave him a headache.
"You are always cautious around me, Arata. From the beginning, I have had no intention of acting against you. Since our directions align, cooperation would be most agreeable." Aleister's gaze remained emotionless behind the transparent life support vessel.
Ten years ago, the global population had increased by one beyond the expected total. At that time, he had attempted to locate and analyze the anomaly. Yet no matter what methods he employed, he could not pinpoint it. He could not even detect its position. All information was sealed away.
Only two days ago, when that influence began to expand outward, did its true form finally reveal itself.
As expected, it was "111." The one who delineates a new era. That power was equivalent to an infinite universe, governed by laws that did not belong to the current age. Within it lay infinite wisdom, infinite possibility, infinite starlight, infinite strength.
In the face of a new era's authority, remnants of the old era would inevitably be suppressed. With the advent of such power, angels and demons alike would be forced into obscurity.
Aleister sought to raise the banner of rebellion against God. "111" sought to divide and inaugurate a new age. Their objectives did not conflict. In fact, they converged.
Its manifestation within Academy City, its identity as an esper, and the nature of its power all suggested that the coming era would be one in which humanity seized control of its own destiny. An era of science.
"Chairman, I wish to discuss the matter of the Misaka Sisters," Arata said, meeting the gaze of the inverted figure floating within the tube.
"What do you know?" Aleister asked softly, with a measured chuckle.
He was now fully convinced that the being known as Arata possessed future sight. His actions had proven as much.
"Everything." Arata's lips curved slightly. There was no point playing guessing games with someone like Aleister. He likely already knew and was merely confirming it again.
Since Aleister had already categorized him as "111," he might as well act the part. There was nothing to lose.
"Would you elaborate?"
"Of course. For example, there exists an angel named Aiwass, observing from a higher dimensional phase. A being of pure physical law, negating divine order, serving as a key for humanity to escape predestination."
Arata's gaze shifted behind Aleister. Without the Void star:Tai suu, he would not have sensed the faint, illusory presence there.
A spirit is the projection of an angel's consciousness into reality. To remain stable, it requires a living vessel as a medium.
"As expected. Omniscience and omnipresence represent the totality of a universe, the attributes once ascribed to God. You possess a universe within yourself. No, your very existence constitutes a universe. It is only natural that you perceive all phenomena."
A hazy mass of white light manifested behind Aleister. Its voice carried no discernible gender or age, yet it resonated with unmistakable delight and curiosity.
"However, from my observation, this universe remains in its infancy. It has only awakened the instinct that represents its core. Omniscience and omnipresence have yet to mature. So how do you perceive my existence?"
The tone held a peculiar fascination, like a child discovering a new amusement park.
"Must something be fully matured in order to be known? These are not the laws of this world. They are my laws. Is that not correct, Aiwass?"
Although he had anticipated this encounter, Arata was still inwardly startled by Aiwass's manifestation. Nevertheless, he maintained composure. If one is to act, one must act thoroughly.
It was unsurprising that Aiwass could glimpse the essence of the Void star:Tai suu.
Were Aiwass placed within a cosmology such as the Little Garden, she would qualify as a three digit omnipotent existence. If the system of that world recognized her spiritual status as "the key to humanity's liberation from fate," she could easily ascend even further.
"I understand. The laws governing different cosmic eras cannot be interchanged, much like the distinction between this age and the Age of Horus."
Aiwass's pure white radiance drifted gently before Arata.
"Now that you acknowledge my existence, and your omniscience has identified my nature, I find myself irrevocably intrigued by you. What path will you take next?"
"Uh…"
Arata hesitated. That was an enormous question.
Speaking frankly, his goals were simple. To gain power. To enjoy life freely.
Without power, he would never gamble recklessly. Survival would always come first. But once he possessed strength, he would pursue pleasure and satisfaction without restraint. That was simply who he was.
And now he was being asked to define a grand objective.
His true goal was to discover how to better enjoy happiness.
Aleister observed silently. Even he felt unsettled by the implications within Aiwass's words.
"Hm. If I were to ask an angel named Aiwass to become my guardian angel, what would you think of that proposal?" Arata raised an eyebrow, only half joking.
He understood that angelic cognition differed fundamentally from human thought. Aiwass had imparted knowledge to Aleister merely because he found Aleister interesting and wished to observe the consequences.
Like scattering crumbs before ants and watching how they respond.
"To request that I become your guardian angel, in human terms, would imply a servant acknowledging a master. Heh. Hehehehe…"
Aiwass's luminous form did not change, yet laughter echoed through the chamber.
T/N- The story is going multiverse scale and our protagonist will visit other world too but that is very far away, around 200 chapters I think. As if now, i have only translated 52 chaps on my p@ treo n.
