after reaching the limits of his energy Dave proceeded to meditate to try and build up his magic reserves while he waited for his yellow energy reserves to recover naturally
as he did so he found that by meditating he could actually feel his blue energy recovering, finding that his blue energy had refilled completely after 20 minutes whereas his yellow energy had only recovered 2 energy naturally
"energy cheat discovered" he smiled "Gen, generate yellow energy using blue energy again"
"understood, energy generated 10 blue energy used to create 5 yellow energy" she stated
feeling the energy rush back into him Dave couldn't help but celebrate
"I can speed up my blue energy recovery by meditating at 1 energy every 2 minutes and this is only the lowest tier of magic training skills" he said with fire burining in his eyes "imagine what I could do with better ones, I could generate all day none stop and never run out of energy" he thought, wanting to get into the magic school now more than ever
"if getting into a good school is based on magic amount then if I build up my yellow energy by exercising then meditate to fill up my blue energy which will in turn slowly increase my max amount then when it comes to the test I essentially will have way more magic than normal people as I can turn my yellow energy into blue energy" he imagined, thinking of how he could have massive energy stores by the time the test came round and pass with flying colors
"No time to be sitting around, time to run again" he said getting up and running again until his yellow energy was back at one
at that moment her heard "Dave, you've been running for a long time now, you must be getting hungry" called Sapphire's voice as she came out with some sandwiches and a glass of water
"thanks mom" he replied walking over to her
"it warms my heart to see how active you are, it seems you weren't lying when you told me you felt better than ever" she said sitting down on the chairs next to the table that was outside and placing the food and drink in front of the seat in front of her
"looks delicious mom" complimented Dave, digging into the food and taking big gulps of water
"slow down dear" she says with a giggle, wiping his mouth with a hanky "the foods not going anywhere"
"sorry mom, I guess I was hungrier than I thought" he said blushing slightly
"it's fine honey, like I said it's good to see you so energetic, at this rate I'll be confident enough in you to let you run around out her without keeping an eye on you through the window" she smiled
Having finished his food Dave had a rest to let his food digest and went into thought about what other things he could do in order to get more achievements, navigating to the achievements page to stare at it as if it would give him any ideas before noticing something, he had gained another achievement
'food = fuel' requirements: eat nutritional food while only at 1 yellow energy, reward: food now gives yellow energy based on nutritional value and amount
"another new way to get more energy" gleamed Dave checking his yellow energy reserves and noticing that even though he had only been resting for 10 minutes that he had restored 3 yellow energy, meaning that he had recovered 2 energy from the water and sandwhiches that his mother had brought out
"mom?" asked Dave
"yes honey" she replied
"the book that dad gave me the other day taught me how to increase my magic reserves but is it ok for me to do it after having just eaten" he asked sheepishly
"it's fine to meditate after you have eaten dear" she answered "and if you want to now is the best time to do it as you're not allowed to exercise anymore until at least half an hour from now, I don't want you being sick because you've got to much energy and over do it"
"ok mom" Dave said as he went back to meditating, wanting to only wait for another 20 minutes as that is when his blue energy would have recovered and he would be able to turn it back into yellow energy and start exercising again but he understood that his mom was looking out for him and that he had technically just recovered from being hit by a lightning bolt only 2 days ago so he understood her worry, instead just focusing on trying to increase his blue enrgy reserves even though he knew increasing his blue energy was going to be a much slower process until he unlocked enough achievements
and so the garden went quiet, with mother and son sitting out in nature silently, one watching over the other in the nice weather.
