Chapter 42 - CHAPTER 42

The assessment results of the women were all very good, greatly lifting Black's mood.

They continued their journey at sea, playing and enjoying themselves.

The sanctuary gradually approached the waters near Flevance.

At this moment, Black finally focused on the sea chart.

"Huh? So Flevance is the name of a city?"

He was genuinely surprised.

He only knew that Law's birthplace was Flevance, famously called the "White Town."

Oh! Thinking of it that way, it really is a city.

What astonished him even more was that Spider Miles lay on the same island as Flevance.

Hearing Black's surprise, Robin rolled her eyes:

"Indeed. The Celestial Dragons' pitiful brain cells are all used on abusing Slaves."

Black reached out, grabbing Robin:

"Alright, then I'll properly abuse you, my little Slave."

"Oh my, have the Celestial Dragons become so cruel that they demote their retainers to Slaves?"

Robin smiled, dodged him, and changed the subject:

"Pionbino Island is a super-large island with no unified government, but rather four kingdoms arranged like a fan."

"The Flevance you are heading to is in the Luminosa Kingdom, and Spider Miles is a port city in the Trequillia Kingdom."

Black listened blankly, his mind reminded of tales about princesses, dragons, warriors, and Wang Haoran.

What was all this?

After a moment of processing, Black finally understood.

It was a super-large island, like Sandy Island in Alabasta, divided into four kingdoms.

The city of Law's birth and Doflamingo's residence were both on this island, but belonged to different nations.

This explained how, in the original story, ten-year-old Law quickly found Doflamingo after escaping Flevance.

Robin continued to clarify:

"A few years ago, a large-scale infectious disease broke out in the Luminosa Kingdom. The other countries jointly blockaded the borders entry allowed, exit forbidden."

"Of course, that's not a problem for you if you're not afraid of infectious diseases."

Black tapped the fishbowls (helmets) on his head:

"This is the advantage of being a Celestial Dragon! No disease can penetrate my spacesuit and helmets!"

"I'll put them on you all later; we'll enter and have a look."

After a pause, Black commanded:

"Since that's settled, we can dock directly at Spider Miles port."

"I'm very curious about this kinsman, cast out of the Holy Land since childhood."

The sanctuary slowly sailed into Spider Miles port.

Even the North Blue allied kings knew Black's whereabouts, so the powerful Donquixote Family had already learned of the Celestial Dragon's arrival.

Doflamingo narrowed his eyes at the sight of the extremely luxurious sanctuary, expression unreadable.

"Doffy, the Celestial Dragon is here. Could he be trying to take you back?" Trebol asked cautiously.

His tone contained reluctance to part with Doflamingo, yet also hope for him to have a better life.

Doflamingo scoffed:

"Fufufufufu… I have no intention of returning to that suffocating birdcage."

The sanctuary docked steadily. Black, seated atop a Slave, led Stella and the others off the ship.

Doflamingo stood at the port, flanked by Donquixote Family executives and Trequillia Kingdom citizens kneeling in a line.

To Black's surprise, young Doflamingo was not as flamboyant as his adult self.

His height was nearly that of his adult figure, posture tall and straight with untamed arrogance.

Golden hair stood upright in sharp strands, rebellious in appearance.

His eyes were long and sharp; his lips slightly upturned with a faint, almost imperceptible evil smile.

He seemed constantly plotting or perhaps challenging the world's rules.

This was clearly a character not to be trusted.

Black noticed few people around Doflamingo, and Rosinante was absent.

He realized Sengoku had not yet sent Rosinante to Doflamingo's side as an undercover agent.

Sending a younger brother to spy on the older was somewhat despicable, but both Sengoku and Rosinante dared one to send, one to accept.

Black urged the Slave to approach Doflamingo, looking down at him:

"I've heard much about your family and wanted to see it myself. Only now do I have the chance."

"Fufufu… To be remembered by Saint Black, I am truly honored."

Doflamingo offered a false smile, gesturing:

"Saint Black, please come in. I'll host a welcoming banquet."

Black nodded:

"Then I'll trouble you."

Doflamingo paused, then let out another burst of "Fufufu" laughter.

Led by Doflamingo, Black and the others entered the Donquixote Family headquarters.

A banquet awaited. Black and Doflamingo sat opposite each other, while the other Family members stood quietly aside.

Black ate casually, Stella serving him, then began:

"I remember seeing you in the Holy Land when I was little."

"You stole Saint Mark's crown to exchange for meat pies."

"I thought you were a restless fellow even then."

Doflamingo recalled the memory:

"Fufufu… That worthless junk was exchanged for three tons of Sea Kings' meat."

"Do you know what I hated most then?"

He answered himself:

"Those foolish merchants actually believed the crown was fake."

"Fufufufufu…"

Black smiled, feeding a piece of cod fillet to Stella.

A glint flashed in Doflamingo's eyes:

"Is this how Celestial Dragons act now? No wonder the World Government is turning into expired champagne."

Clearly, he was probing, testing Black's personality and reaction.

Even if Black showed displeasure, Doflamingo could brush it off.

Black paused mid-bite, then resumed eating.

He wiped his mouth with a handkerchief, handing it to Stella.

Half-smiling, he looked at Doflamingo:

"Doffy, you now look like a child whose cotton candy has been snatched away."

Doflamingo's smile froze.

After a moment, he shrugged:

"No choice. While you were having afternoon tea in the garden with your bubble helmets, I was fighting for food with wild dogs in the North Blue and at sea."

"Indeed, Hogback's decision back then was a bit ill-considered."

Black nodded, ignoring Doflamingo's grim expression, and continued:

"In my opinion, your family's tragedy was all caused by Hogback."

"He was an idealistic man who didn't understand the world."

"Yet, he could have died, but shouldn't have by your hand."
