Watching Kanda Rokuro walk away, Danzo thought quietly for a moment, then said to the Root ninja beside him, "When keeping an eye on him from now on, stay further away. Give him enough freedom. However, report his training progress to me every half a month!"
"Yes!"
The Root ninja complied.
A glint appeared in Danzo's eyes as he muttered to himself, "A five-year-old Chūnin... and his Ninjutsu talent isn't bad either. It seems I've acquired a good tool. Kuro can't be allowed to die too early now; I'll have him guide the boy more and show him the darkness of the ninja world!"
After muttering for a bit, Danzo's gaze turned back to the Root ninja. "Send someone to the orphanage where Kanda Rokuro was stationed. Investigate if there is anyone there he is familiar with. If you find anyone, have that branch send them to headquarters to be properly trained for a while!"
"Yes!"
The Root ninja agreed once more.
Danzo had no further instructions this time. He waved his hand and said, "Go. Tomorrow, deliver a copy of the C-Rank Earth Style Ninjutsu scrolls to Kanda Rokuro, and let him train well!"
The Root ninja retreated.
Danzo also put the matter of Kanda Rokuro aside for now and went to attend to other business.
Although Kanda Rokuro was a genius, in this world, a genius who died young was no genius at all. He was only providing a bit more assistance to try and prevent Kanda Rokuro from dying too early. Whether Kanda Rokuro could truly grow up and reach his potential would still depend on himself.

The next day.
Several people arrived at Kanda Rokuro's residence.
They installed an air conditioning unit inside the training room and also assigned a woman specifically to prepare three meals a day for Kanda Rokuro in Kuro's home.

They left a copy of an Earth Style Ninjutsu scroll for Kanda Rokuro.
Inside the scroll, there were five C-Rank Earth Style Ninjutsu.
Earth Swamp Jutsu: Softens the ground to trap enemies inside.
Earth Spear Jutsu: Condenses dirt into a spear to be thrown from a distance to attack enemies.
Earth Hiding Jutsu: A ninjutsu to merge and hide within the earth.
Earth Wall Jutsu: Forms an earthen wall to block enemy attacks.
Earth Armor Jutsu: Forms an earthen armor on the surface of the body, providing both camouflage and defense.
Obtaining these five ninjutsu, Kanda Rokuro was quite excited.
However! He temporarily didn't have excess EXP to upgrade them.
Besides! He couldn't learn them too fast, lest Danzo grow suspicious of him.
He could just wait half a year before properly training in these ninjutsu.
For now, he would just learn the basics and leave them be. If he ever encountered danger one day and needed to use them, he would just tap into his hoarded EXP to upgrade them and use these ninjutsu to save his life or attack.
For the five ninjutsu, upgrading each to Level 2 required 2,000 EXP points.
This wasn't a lot for Kanda Rokuro; the EXP points he had saved up were far more than that.
Spending half a day, he added the five new ninjutsu into his System.

Earth Armor Jutsu Level 1: 0 / 2,000 EXP
Earth Spear Jutsu Level 1: 0 / 2,000 EXP
Earth Swamp Jutsu Level 1: 0 / 2,000 EXP
Earth Wall Jutsu Level 1: 0 / 2,000 EXP
Looking at the EXP required to upgrade these five ninjutsu, he finally understood some of the System's basic rules.
Based on the current situation:
D-Rank Ninjutsu, like the Three Basic Jutsu: Level 1 to Level 2 requires 1,000 EXP.
C-Rank Ninjutsu, like the Earth Hiding Jutsu: Level 1 to Level 2 requires 2,000 EXP.
B-Rank Ninjutsu, like the Tyrant Step: Level 1 to Level 2 requires 4,000 EXP.
A-Rank Ninjutsu, like the Tyrant Body Style: Level 1 to Level 2 requires 10,000 EXP.
Regardless of the ninjutsu's rank, the EXP required to upgrade to the next level would simply double.
That was roughly how it worked.
Kanda Rokuro hadn't encountered any special ninjutsu yet, so he didn't know what the requirements for those would be.
He didn't worry about it. He would naturally find out when he encountered them later.
For the next period, he planned to use his saved EXP to upgrade the Tyrant Body Style to Level 3, and additionally stack the levels of the Three Basic Jutsu even higher.
Having settled the five ninjutsu, Kanda Rokuro trained peacefully in the underground base.
Every seven or eight days, he would go out and stroll around Konoha to kill some boring time.
With Danzo covering for him, he didn't run into any trouble in the village. He managed to become a familiar face, letting the people of Konoha know that a kid named Kanda Rokuro existed in the village.
After nearly twenty days of training.
During his third time strolling through Konoha, Kanda Rokuro heard some news that piqued his interest.
The Hidden Cloud Village (Kumogakure) of the Land of Lightning was preparing to send envoys to sign a peace treaty with Konoha. This would put an end to the small-scale skirmishes that persisted after the Third Great Ninja War, allowing both sides to rest and recover.
The people of Konoha were rejoicing over this.
No war meant no deaths. Naturally, the common folk were thrilled. Most of the villagers were discussing this matter, and Kanda Rokuro easily found out the specifics just by asking around casually.
The Hokage had already made a village-wide announcement.
It was announced that on May 4th, the envoys from the Hidden Cloud would arrive in Konoha to sign the treaty.
Right now, it was April 19th. That meant there was exactly half a month until the Cloud envoys arrived.
Upon hearing this news, Kanda Rokuro lost his mood for strolling.
He returned to the underground base, pondering how he could show off his abilities during this upcoming event and make the top brass of Konoha know his name.
