_______________
The Shadow Clone Jutsu was incredibly useful.
However.
In Kanda Rokuro's current state, he could only create two Shadow Clones for training purposes.
If he made more, his daily income of Experience Points wouldn't be enough to recover his stamina.
Besides.
He still needed to save EXP to upgrade other Ninjutsu.
Creating two Shadow Clones and having them train for ten hours a day would consume 400 EXP. In return, the increase in Taijutsu or Chakra EXP would only be around 50 points.
Adding his own training to the mix, relying solely on physical practice would yield about 100 EXP per day.
Meanwhile, his total daily EXP income maxed out at around 700 points.
It's tough!
The sources of EXP were still too few; it was practically torture.
If only he could get 2,000 EXP a day, that would be perfect.
A pity!
That was just a pipe dream.
Even if he went out and taught a Chūnin a lesson every single day, that would only amount to 1,000 points. If he really went all out with Shadow Clone training, even 1,000 EXP wouldn't be enough to cover the costs.
After lamenting his situation, Rokuro decided not to use Shadow Clones for training for now.
He needed to hoard EXP to level up his Ninjutsu.
Instead, he planned to use the Shadow Clones to complete his quests. Those boring tasks were a waste of his time; letting a clone handle them was much more efficient.
As for himself?
He would focus on bitter cultivation, completing the daily training quest and saving up EXP.
Testing the capabilities of the Shadow Clone took Rokuro a full day.
Once he understood its uses, he returned to his room to rest.
The next day.
Rokuro was still asleep when Hanata came running over in a hurry, knocking on the door.
"Rokuro, get up! Lord Danzo is looking for you!"
Rokuro scrambled out of bed.
After opening the door, he looked at Hanata and asked,
"It's this late? What does Lord Danzo want with me?"
Hanata shook his head and whispered a warning,
"Lord Danzo's mood doesn't look too good. He just smashed some things in a rage. You'd better be careful!"
Holy crap!
Is Danzo trying to get back at me?
This doesn't feel right!
With some trepidation, Rokuro followed Hanata to the entrance of Danzo's office.
At the door, Hanata refused to go any further.
Rokuro had no choice but to walk in alone.
Upon entering.
He saw Danzo's gloomy expression.
That look...
He was indeed very angry.
Rokuro walked over cautiously and asked,
"Lord Danzo, you were looking for me?"
Danzo looked up at Rokuro, and his complexion improved slightly.
Seeing this, Rokuro breathed a sigh of relief.
It seemed Danzo's anger wasn't directed at him.
His little life was safe for now.
Danzo didn't know what Rokuro was thinking. He gestured for Rokuro to sit opposite him and said,
"Rokuro, I am very disappointed in the Hokage right now. He is truly too weak!"
Uh!
Why are you telling me this?
What does this have to do with me?
Rokuro looked speechless.
Seeing Rokuro's indifference, Danzo shook his head and said,
"Hiashi Hyūga might be about to die!"
Rokuro's expression instantly turned serious, and he asked curiously,
"Isn't Hiashi Hyūga the leader of the Hyūga Clan? He's so strong, how could he die? That's impossible, right?"
Danzo looked at Rokuro, his eyes filled with anger.
"But the Hokage wants him dead!"
Rokuro understood.
The damn plot is starting.
Hizashi Hyūga was probably about to take Hiashi's place and die.
What a pity.
But it had nothing to do with him.
However.
He couldn't show his indifference in front of Danzo. He said with some dissatisfaction,
"Clan Leader Hyūga is such a good person; he even sent me a gift. Why does Lord Hokage want him dead?"
Danzo was furious, slamming his fist onto the table.
"It's all because of that dead Cloud ninja! Hiruzen Sarutobi, that bastard! Just for some so-called peace treaty, he actually agreed to the Cloud Village's outrageous demands to have Hiashi Hyūga pay with his life for that Cloud ninja!"
As expected!
It seemed his presence hadn't changed the plot.
After thinking for a moment.
Rokuro pretended to be furious.
"How could Lord Hokage do this? He's too weak! Those Cloud ninjas are bullying us so much; why not just kill them all?!"
Danzo nodded internally as he listened.
This was exactly what he wanted: to make Rokuro dissatisfied with Hiruzen Sarutobi.
Looking at the furious Rokuro, Danzo sighed.
"My thoughts are the same as yours. Unfortunately, I am not the Hokage. Otherwise, I definitely wouldn't let those Cloud ninjas leave here alive!"
Rokuro nodded repeatedly.
"That's exactly how it should be! I think you are more suitable to be the Hokage, Lord Danzo. The Third Hokage is too weak; how can he be the leader of the powerful Konoha?!"
Danzo was very satisfied internally.
Outwardly, he sighed.
"He is the Hokage now; there is nothing I can do. I called you over to tell you to prepare yourself. If Clan Leader Hyūga really dies, you should go and pay your respects!"
Rokuro looked even more upset and said to Danzo,
"My Lord, can't you persuade the Hokage? Clan Leader Hyūga is such a good person; it would be such a pity if he died..."
Danzo pointed at himself.
"If I could persuade him, would I be sitting here angry? That old fool is simply stubborn beyond belief. I almost got into a physical fight with him!"
Hearing this, Rokuro stood up furiously.
"The more I hear, the angrier I get! I'm going to go scold him! My Lord, you follow me to protect me!"
Damn it.
This brat is actually so afraid of death.
I'm not your bodyguard, yet you want me to tag along?
