After leaving the dojo's doctor, Daki and I both walked back to the main dojo area. "So, Namo-Kun, how was the checkup? Did she get all touchy~?" That question made me slightly flustered as I looked away from her teasing gaze.
"N-No… she mainly asked me a bunch of questions and did a few tests." Daki huffs in amusement, "I know a lie when I see one, Namo-Kun!" I rolled my eyes and began walking slightly faster to the main area.
When we get back, I see Ms. Asami writing something down on what looks to be a notepad, and she looks up at me. "Hmm, you guys are back from the doctors, I see. Shiro ran out to get some medical supplies. In the meantime, why don't you show him a few things about yourself, Daki?" Ms. Asami said in a soft voice.
That's when Daki stretched and grabbed her bow and her quiver, "You got it, chief! Let's get down to business," She suddenly grabs my arm and rushes us to the arching field.
"Alright, Namo-Kun, I'm gonna show you something that'll blow you away!" She says with a little bit too much excitement. Suddenly, her pupils turned into… arrows?
This made me gasp and jump back slightly, "What the hell!? What kind of magic sorcery is this!?!?" Daki giggles, and she takes a bow out of her quiver, "Relax, it's my 'ability,' even Chief and Shiro have one too. You will get one soon enough, so don't worry about it."
An ability? This looks like something straight out of a folktale. I must be dreaming or something.
That's when Daki starts "Hassetsu," which basically means the 8 stages of kyūdō, and each direction she points her arrow is the direction her arrow pupils point.
After getting a clear lock-on, she mutters these soft words...
Shakaromi no nanioite, kono ya wa kanarazu hyōteki o inukudarou!

A high-speed arrow goes soaring through the air and shoots directly into the bullseye.
Daki sighs before blinking, her arrow pupils going back to normal, and she turns to me with a huge smirk on her face.
"How was that Namo-Kun? Was that cool enough for ya~?" All I could do was look at the arrow with my mouth wide agape.
"What… on earth… WAS THAAAAT!?!?!?" Daki couldn't help but laugh out loud at my reaction. She put her bow away and made her way towards me.
"Projectile Control. I can control the direction of any projectile I eject. That's the main reason why I'm the archer of the league."
Projectile… Control? I've never heard anything like that before, and I guess that makes Daki the deadeye of the league.
"Wait, so what are Ms. Asami and Shiro's abilities? And also, what kind of ability will I have?" Daki taps her chin as if she's in thought.
"Well, Chief Asami's ability is something called 'Sonic Slash,' and it allows her to deliver fast and devastating strikes with her sword, creating sonic booms." She paused before looking quite perplexed.
"Shiro's ability is still a mystery. There's no known name for it yet, but I like to call it 'Instinctive Maneuvering.' It pretty much allows Shiro to automatically dodge/evade any incoming threats that are humanly possible. He cannot dodge things like large area-of-effect (AOE) attacks, multiple attacks at once, or my arrows, since my ability negates his."
These abilities are definitely no joke; no wonder these three are elite samurai. Given how strong Ms. Asami's ability is, there's no doubt that she's the striker. And hearing how evasive and how put out Shiro sounds, he is definitely the evader. That only leaves one more… the recon.
"Does that mean… I'm going to have to use a supportive ability?" I say with a bit of excitement. Daki smirks again and nudges my arm,
"Look at you Mr. Smartypants, you got it right. The way this works is simple: You train on making an ability that goes with your class. Since you're reconnaissance, you're gonna work on making an ability that focuses more on scoping out the most amount of targets and giving intel to the rest of the team."
I take a moment to process her words, and that's when Shiro finally arrives back at the dojo with a… goofy grin on his face.
"What's uuup guys? What did I-" Daki cuts him off as she throws a pebble at his forehead.
"Get out of here, you moron, I'm teaching Namo about abilities!"
