"Tell me, who is it?"
Roseanne sat in the passenger seat as Soren drove her and Kaden away from his preschool. She had insisted on coming along for pickup, still worried over what had happened the last time. The memory of the kidnapping lingered in her mind and she couldn't help but worry it might happen again.
And for some reason, Czar hadn't gone to Cyntara at all today. She assumed he must be busy with his own company; after all, compared to his sprawling enterprise, Cyntara was barely a speck of dust. There was nothing urgent in the office that could possibly require his attention.
With nothing pressing left to do, she decided to join Soren for Kaden's pickup.
"I simply can't talk about it, Ms. Leclair," Soren said quietly, careful to keep his tone gentle. Kaden, exhausted from his day at preschool, slept soundly on Roseanne's lap, his small head nestled against her chest and his mouth slightly open.
