"The Falcone family has supported my father for a long time."
Czar's voice was calm but carried a certain weight as he shut the office door behind him, sealing them off from the other assistants outside.
He strode across the room in a few steps and settled beside Roseanne, who sat perched on the sofa, still trying to compose herself after the storm that was Florence Falcone.
He held a cold ice pack in his hand and without a word, he pressed it gently to her cheek. The cold stung at first and Roseanne winced, the pain from Florence's slap still pulsing beneath her skin.
"Does it still hurt?" he asked, his tone softening.
"A little. Why is she so strong?" Roseanne muttered, more of a complaint than a genuine question as she pressed her lips together.
Czar's lips curled into a wry smile.
"Florence is strong and skilled. She does taekwondo and fencing, she's actually won a few championships."
