*Bael's POV*
The police station takes two hours.
Two hours of careful, measured answers delivered through legal counsel while three investigators sit across a table and try to find a crack in something that has no cracks. They are professional about it. Bael is more professional. By the time the session concludes, the lead investigator's expression carries the particular flatness of a man who came into the room expecting to find something and is leaving without it.
Shen Rui is waiting in the corridor.
"Jun Holdings," Bael says, without stopping.
Shen Rui falls into step beside him. "The building is twelve minutes from here."
"Then we have twelve minutes."
In the car, Bael reads through the file one more time, not because he needs to but because he prefers to arrive at things having just looked at them. The documents are clean and thorough. He and Shen Rui have been building this since yesterday, working through everything simultaneously, and the result shows.
