Chapter 7 - ### Chapter 7: Shadows in the Green

Eron woke before dawn.

The forest was still dark—only faint grey light filtering through the canopy. He lay on the simple mat inside his tree house, eyes open, listening.

No birds yet. No wind. Just silence.

He sat up slowly.

Body felt different today—lighter, steadier. The fruits, the meditation, the endless training had layered strength upon strength. No more trembling arms. No more breathlessness after push-ups. He could feel qi now—not just sense it, but hold it, move it through his meridians like slow water.

He stood.

Robes settled around him—blue and white, clean, untouched by the damp of the night. Sword at his hip—plain, reliable.

He stepped to the edge of the platform. Looked down.

Akt waited below—grey shadow, red eyes dim. Silent. Loyal.

Eron did not call it up. No need yet.

He climbed down.

Forest floor was cool under his bare feet. He walked to the stream nearby—water clear, bubbling over smooth stones. Knelt. Cupped his hands. Drank.

The water tasted alive—cold, pure, with a faint sweetness that lingered.

He sat on the bank. Crossed his legs. Closed his eyes.

Meditation came naturally now.

Breath in. Breath out.

Qi gathered in his core—slow, thick, heavy. It moved up his spine, down his arms, into his legs. The second seal in his stomach pulsed—fractured, weaker every day.

He pushed.

Qi flowed toward it—steady stream.

The seal resisted.

He pushed harder.

Crack.

Small fracture widened.

Pain flared—sharp, brief, deep in his gut.

Then warmth.

Strength returned—deeper. Clearer.

Screen appeared.

**Second seal (stomach) – Fractured further.**

**Lifespan extended: +1,200 years.**

Eron opened his eyes.

Sun rising now—golden light breaking through trees.

He stood.

No hunger. No exhaustion.

He trained.

Handstand push-ups—200 this time. Easy.

Squats—1,500. Legs burned, then steadied.

Sword forms—four stances repeated until blade sang.

Qi followed the steel—faint blue edge along the edge. Mortal Blade Realm – Peak. Close to Intent.

He ate one banana from storage—thick, sweet, grounding.

Qi sensation sharpened.

He meditated again.

One hour.

Two.

Qi flowed freer now. The seal cracked more.

He felt it—qi attacking on its own, eager, alive.

By noon he stopped.

Sat against a tree.

Looked up.

Leaves rustled.

Bird called—sharp, unfamiliar.

He thought of his parents.

Lira's quiet laugh. Harlan's rare nod.

The ache came—soft, familiar.

He did not cry.

He stood.

Continued walking—toward the mountains.

Days passed.

Routine unchanged.

Wake. Meditate. Train. Eat fruits. Collect souls when monsters appeared—mostly Akt variants, grey shadows adding to his silent army.

No tasks came.

No penalties.

The system stayed quiet.

He spoke to it sometimes. In his mind.

*Why no tasks?*

No answer.

*What is Star 0?*

Silence.

*What happens when I break the second seal fully?*

Nothing.

He did not mind.

The quiet gave him space.

To think. To feel. To grow.

One evening—month seven—he found a clearing.

Pond in the center—still water, reflecting stars.

He sat on the bank.

Drew the sword.

Practiced the four stances—slow, then fast.

Blade cut air. Qi followed—blue edge brighter now.

He stopped.

Looked at his reflection in the pond.

Face sharper. Eyes brighter. Body leaner, harder.

He sheathed the sword.

Sat again.

Meditated.

Qi gathered.

Second seal cracked fully.

Pain—deep, burning.

Then release.

Warmth flooded him.

Strength—deeper. Clearer. Qi moved like breath.

Screen appeared.

**Second seal (stomach) – Unlocked.**

**Lifespan extended: +2,000 years total.**

**Body – Star 0 (strong vitality, qi active).**

Eron opened his eyes.

Stars above.

He felt… whole.

Not invincible.

But closer.

He stood.

Looked toward the mountains.

Time to move on.

Forest had taught him much.

Answers lay beyond.

He walked.

No hurry.

No fear.

Only forward.
