"Alright, registration is complete. From now on, you can use this app to accept all kinds of missions," Damian said, smiling at Rosa as he finished setting up her account.
"I've upgraded you to a Senior VIP employee. With this level of access, you'll also be able to take on high-difficulty missions."
"High-difficulty missions? Like what?" Rosa asked, curiosity lighting her eyes.
"For example," Damian said right away, "missions involving wild Pokémon with hostile temperaments and immense strength. That's especially true for those at the 'Alpha' level. These wild Pokémon don't just stay in wilderness zones—they also attack ordinary people and Trainers who pass through."
Rosa nodded. That made sense. One of the most famous and dangerous wild Pokémon in the Unova region was Hydreigon!
Her own Hydreigon had once been the boss of a mountain. It was infamous for its ferocity in that area. Because of its overwhelming strength, Officer Jenny and her teams had tried to surround and capture it several times, but they always failed.
Not all Pokémon were naturally friendly toward humans. Many had fierce temperaments. Having grown up in the harsh environment of the wild, their instincts were difficult to tame. It was normal for them to attack humans.
That was especially true for "Alpha"-level wild Pokémon. The term "Alpha" actually came from the Totem Pokémon of the Alola region.
An "Alpha Pokémon" wasn't just stronger than others of its kind—its body was also much larger. They were incredibly powerful because they were covered in an Ultra Aura. Later, the word "Alpha" gradually spread to other regions, and it came to describe any Pokémon that was naturally bigger and stronger than others of its species.
"Next are the combat missions," Damian continued. "For instance, destroying the bases of Pokémon Hunter organizations, raiding the hideouts of evil teams, or capturing members of those evil teams who are still in hiding."
Rosa blinked. "Eh?"
She was stunned, unsure if she'd heard him correctly.
"These missions come with real danger," Damian warned. "So you must always act within your limits, okay?"
"I understand that. But about these combat missions…" Rosa said, still shocked. "Damian, what kind of company are you running?"
She couldn't figure out what Damian's company really was. Hunter organizations and evil teams were supposed to be handled by the official League. She didn't understand why Damian's company would have missions like that.
Was Damian's company actually affiliated with the Pokémon League?
"I'll tell you when there's a chance in the future. For now…" Damian gave her a mysterious smile.
"You just need to know this: we're enemies of evil forces like those teams and hunter organizations."
"I like that!" Rosa said.
She beamed. She really liked what Damian was saying!
To her, evil organizations were simply awful. During her journey so far, Rosa had run into Team Plasma many times. Sometimes, she wondered if the people in that organization were even human.
They even stole Pokémon from children. It was completely unacceptable.
"Then you'll need to work hard. As long as you complete missions, you'll earn merits. Once you have enough merits, you can exchange them for plenty of rewards," Damian said.
He opened the exchange page in the app and handed it to Rosa so she could take a look.
"Wow!!! Is this for real?" Rosa asked.
After only a few moments, she was already overwhelmed.
The exchange page was split into several categories: Poké Balls, Items, Pokémon, and others.
Rosa clicked the Poké Ball page first. Row after row of rare Poké Balls made her feel dizzy.
She didn't even bother looking at the basic Poké Balls, Great Balls, and Ultra Balls sold in shops.
Special Poké Balls like Dive Balls, Love Balls, Moon Balls, and Dusk Balls were all listed there.
There were even extremely rare ones like Dream Balls, Cherish Balls, and even Beast Balls—something she'd never even heard of before.
Rosa practically started drooling at the sight of the Dream Balls and Beast Balls. She loved pretty things.
The Dream Ball's pink, charming design was exactly her style. She wanted to give Serperior and the others a beautiful home to live in, too!
The Beast Ball was even better. At a glance, it looked sophisticated and intricately designed.
Next, Rosa tapped into the item section. There were all kinds of items—like a massive trove of treasures. The Technical Machine (TM) list was full and complete.
Rosa frowned in confusion. "Eh? Damian, what is this 'Small Sacred Ash'?"
She asked hesitantly. She spotted "Small Sacred Ash" in the first row and first column of the recovery section.
She'd heard of things like Max Potions and Full Heals, but she'd never heard of Small Sacred Ash.
"Oh—that's a new recovery medicine developed by our company," Damian said. He took out a bottle of Small Sacred Ash and smiled at her. "One small bottle can fully restore the health and status of four Pokémon—even if they've already fainted."
"Is that real?" Rosa asked.
She was shocked all over again.
Right now, the strongest healing item on the market was the Max Potion. It could fully restore a Pokémon's HP and cure status conditions.
But compared to Small Sacred Ash, a Max Potion felt outright inferior.
"Of course. After all, this Small Sacred Ash is made from feathers plucked from Ho-Oh himself," Damian said.
He grinned. The reason it was called "Small" Sacred Ash was mostly because its effect clearly wasn't as strong as the one in the games.
Even so, its healing power was far beyond any medicine currently available.
It truly lived up to being made from Ho-Oh's feathers. It was simply too powerful.
Rosa let out a breath in awe. "Amazing!"
She was extremely curious about who "that adult" was, the way Damian said it. Since he mentioned feathers, she assumed it had to be a Pokémon.
Then Rosa opened the last category: the Pokémon section. Her eyes instantly went wide.
Legendary Pokémon: Zapdos – Ability: Pressure – Exchange Merits: 120,000
Legendary Pokémon: Therian Forme Tornadus – Ability: Regenerator – Exchange Merits: 120,000
Mythical Pokémon: Meltan – Ability: Magnet Pull – Exchange Merits: 100,000
Pseudo-Legendary: Bagon – Ability: Rock Head – Exchange Merits: 50,000
Pseudo-Legendary: Dratini…
Ultra Beast: Nihilego…
"Holy crap!!!" Rosa shouted.
Her eyes were huge as she stared at the absurdly lavish exchange list, half-convinced he had to be messing with her.
She was so shocked she nearly swore again. She was genuinely stunned—this exchange list was unbelievable.
And it was obvious Damian had just added that Therian Forme Tornadus.
This time, Rosa didn't even ask whether it was real. Asking again would be rude—and besides, she trusted Damian.
Her gaze turned blazing with excitement!
"Damian! Starting today, I'm a member of the Arceus Company! Please—make sure you give me missions!!" Rosa said.
She was bursting with energy now, talking like she couldn't wait even a second longer.
She wanted merits! She wanted work!
She wanted Zapdos! She wanted Dream Balls! She wanted Small Sacred Ash!
"Don't rush. Check the mission board and see if there's something suitable. Also, you can visit the forum section—sometimes employees there look for teammates," Damian said.
"Some missions aren't easy to complete alone. Teaming up will make them much easier."
"And some missions are extremely difficult and time-limited. For example, look at this one in the Alola region: Guzzlord Containment Mission," Damian said.
Damian showed the mission to Rosa.
"Guzzlord is an Ultra Beast. If it's a strong individual, even an Elite Four-level Trainer might not be able to handle it. There's a real risk to your life. This is the kind of mission you need to think about carefully—it's best to go with teammates who are truly strong."
Rosa nodded quickly. "Oh, oh, oh."
She thought about it. Ultra Beasts from Alola? She wasn't very familiar with them.
But she understood what Damian meant. Basically, she probably couldn't handle that kind of mission on her own.
In that case… would it be fine if she brought someone along?
"Damian, can I bring Hilda into this too?" Rosa asked. Her mind immediately went to her best friend.
"Sure. I can send you the electronic contract—you just need to have her sign it," Damian said with a smile.
In truth, that was exactly what he wanted. He'd guided the conversation in that direction on purpose.
Now that Rosa was involved, he wasn't going to let Hilda slip away.
"Great!" Rosa said.
She was thrilled.
After that, the rest of the time was mostly Rosa firing off questions excitedly.
She asked how to complete specific missions, how merits were divided, and the exact steps for turning missions in.
Damian answered every question calmly and patiently.
The meal lasted a full two hours. When they left the restaurant, Rosa felt satisfied and happy. She said goodbye to Damian with boundless energy.
But the moment she turned around, Rosa pulled out her phone. She couldn't wait to call her friend.
"Hilda!! Great news!!" Rosa shouted.
Her excited voice carried even from far away. Damian chuckled.
Still, it was true—he had to admit the Team Rocket app was impressively well-made now. The exchange rewards were richer than anyone could imagine.
Where else could someone exchange points for a legendary Pokémon?
Of course, Damian had added a special note. Legendary Pokémon didn't just cost merits—after you received one, you still had to win a battle and catch it yourself.
If you failed to catch it, you could return it, and the merits would be refunded to the applicant.
Damian thought that having these temporary workers hunt down Team Plasma's remaining members was the perfect arrangement.
At this point, Team Plasma had already fallen apart.
Ghetsis was being held by the Unova League. Both N and Colress had joined Team Rocket. Although there were still plenty of leftovers and a few Sages leading them, they couldn't do anything significant anymore.
They were essentially just waiting for the end.
The Pokémon Hunter organizations couldn't cause any major trouble either. Still, it would take time to wipe them out completely.
But that was fine. Team Rocket in Unova had plenty of people now.
Especially the student workers from Blueberry Academy—their enthusiasm for work was sky-high.
"Damian, Damian! Look over there," Jirachi said.
All of a sudden, Jirachi, perched on Damian's shoulder, grabbed his hair and pointed into the distance.
Damian frowned in confusion. "Hmm?"
He followed its gaze. Far away, on a tree, a small yellow-and-red mouse Pokémon was hiding behind a branch, peeking at Damian with curious eyes.
Damian sighed with a smile. "Oh, I found you, Victini."
