Chapter 40

Clash of the Titans (3)

Two great entities stood

facing one another in the heart of the void.

Two beings beyond the limits of imagination,

before whose presence the very laws of existence bent.

The first—

a savage, ferocious entity,

surrounded by an aura devoid of mercy.

Its form was terrifying,

and its power…

unbelievable.

In its hand

it carried a solid green sword,

pulsing with a repulsive energy,

as if it had been extracted from the depths of chaos itself.

This was—

Cthulhu.

The second—

was a magnificent luminous entity,

surrounded by a sacred aura,

beautiful,

radiating both majesty and tranquility at once.

His shining silver hair

flowed behind him like strands of light,

and his powerful body gleamed,

encased in celestial armor

engraved with divine energy.

In his hand

was a magnificent radiant sword,

shining with pure white brilliance

as though forged from the very essence of the cosmos.

This was—

Arthur…

in the Sovereign state.

Both entities smiled.

Two smiles

filled with overwhelming dominance,

savagery,

and absolute confidence in their power.

Then—

the titans collided.

A battle without mercy.

Without pause.

Without retreat.

With every swing of their swords,

the universe itself was torn apart.

Space cracked,

time shattered,

and existence collapsed piece by piece.

Arthur struck with his sword with tremendous force,

opening a massive rift in space.

Cthulhu dodged the blow—

but not completely.

Two fingers

were severed

from his hand.

Cthulhu roared.

A scream of pain

unlike anything ever heard before.

His hand glowed,

trying to regenerate the severed fingers—

but it was useless.

The celestial substance that formed the sword

and coated the wound

did not disappear.

It remained,

preventing regeneration.

The two fingers drifted

through the shattered space.

With a single glance

from Arthur's celestial eye—

they vanished.

As though they had never existed.

Arthur smiled calmly.

Cthulhu grew furious.

His body turned

a dark crimson red,

as though his blood were boiling from within.

He raised his sword

and struck the space above him.

Time and space split apart.

He opened a rift

between worlds.

Cthulhu smiled

beneath his severed tentacles,

grabbed Arthur,

and hurled him inside—

then followed him.

---

Along the Cosmic Road,

filled with stars and galaxies,

the two fought.

A clash

that shook the void.

In the middle of the battle,

Arthur raised his right hand,

stabbed Cthulhu's shoulder,

then shoved him violently

toward the sky of the Cosmic Road.

A mysterious force swallowed them—

and they were transported

to a new world.

Cthulhu looked around.

A world filled with planets

and stars.

He smiled.

The smile of a starving beast

gazing upon its prey.

His gaze fixed

upon the beautiful planet Earth.

But that planet possessed an incredibly strange aura.

Arthur felt the terrifying power dormant within it.

And around him

he sensed several eyes watching carefully—

with attention and curiosity.

"Useless bastards,"

Arthur growled.

Meanwhile, Cthulhu extended his colossal hand toward the Earth.

He was about to swallow it,

to consume it,

to restore his strength

and become even stronger.

But—

before he could reach it—

two forces struck Cthulhu's body.

The first was Arthur,

who came from behind at a terrifying speed—

so fast he nearly shattered space entirely,

though he restrained his power and stopped himself.

This world had not suffered destruction like the previous one.

If Arthur shattered space here,

all forms of life would be destroyed.

While Arthur's strike came from behind—

a beam of pure celestial white light shot upward from Earth.

Not exactly from the Earth itself,

but from a person standing in the middle of space.

Pure shining white hair.

A terrifyingly well-proportioned muscular body.

Orange clothing.

Beside him stood another man

with purple hair

and blue clothing that resembled armor.

The two gathered their power

and unleashed it toward Cthulhu at the same moment.

But Cthulhu did not retreat.

Or rather—

he was not affected by it.

Then Arthur's strike came.

One strike.

Using all of his power.

Arthur tore open a rift

in time and space.

And with that blow—

he severed Cthulhu's right leg.

He grabbed Cthulhu's body

and shoved him violently

toward the rift—

then closed it.

Just before it sealed completely,

Arthur looked

at Cthulhu's leg—

which was

the size of five planets combined.

He raised his hand—

and closed the rift.

The two of them

returned

to the Cosmic Road.

Meanwhile, the two men stood in the middle of space, their eyes wide with shock, unable to understand what had just happened.

Only seconds ago

they had been training normally on Earth.

Then they felt death approaching them—

a feeling they had never experienced before.

This death was absolute.

A death with no return.

Their instincts screamed within their blood,

so they rushed toward space at incredible speed

to confront the danger.

But even after unleashing their strongest combined attack,

the two men understood that what had stood before them moments ago

was absolute horror—

not a battle they could ever hope to win.

---

Back on the Cosmic Road

Cthulhu's rage exploded.

One strike.

Two.

Three.

Ten.

Forty-nine.

A hundred strikes

in only five seconds.

Arthur's celestial body

was almost completely destroyed.

Nothing remained

except one foot

and one hand.

His body

was filled with cracks,

fractures,

and tears—

as though it were about to

shatter

at any moment.

Arthur bled

golden celestial blood.

His body

began to collapse.

He could no longer endure.

He had fought madly

against an entity

with the power of a permanent Sovereign.

While he—

was only

a temporary Sovereign.

Cthulhu

was a great entity,

his power truly surpassing that of a Sovereign.

A veteran monster

who had lived for millions of years—

far longer.

Arthur, on the other hand,

was merely a human

who had borrowed the power of a Sovereign

for a short time.

And yet—

he had delivered

an astonishing performance.

He fought.

He struck.

He wounded.

He severed Cthulhu's leg,

two fingers from his hand,

stabbed his shoulder,

and caused him

numerous wounds.

But—

reality remained reality.

The reservoir

of Sovereign power

was exhausted.

Cthulhu grabbed Arthur

by the neck

and hurled his body

toward the sky of the Cosmic Road.

He pierced through it.

And they returned—

to the universe

where everything had begun.

But—

it was no longer a universe.

It was merely

a black sheet

torn

into a million fragments.

The cracks

they had created

still remained.

This universe

could no longer produce any energy.

All the planets

had vanished—

except the Sun,

half of which had been destroyed

during the battle.

This universe—

was shattered

beyond return.

Arthur smiled

as he looked around.

Cthulhu tightened his grip

around Arthur's neck.

[[You insignificant creature…

know your place.]]

His voice echoed everywhere,

filled with unimaginable

rage and domination.

Arthur said with a mocking smile:

"Then you can speak the language of humans,

you disgusting monster."

[[A worthless wretch like you

trying to fight

and stop a great Sovereign like me?

Did you truly

believe you would win?]]

Cthulhu finished speaking—

then he felt

something strange.

Something

he had never felt before.

His energy

began to decrease

slowly.

He looked around.

There was no one

in the galaxy

except the two of them.

Then he looked at Arthur.

And saw—

that arrogant smile

on his face.

[[What did you do,

you insignificant creature?]]

Cthulhu spread

his dragon-like wings,

lifted Arthur—

and hurled him

toward the Sun

with unimaginable force.

Arthur's body pierced through the Sun—

and shattered it.

Just before the impact—

Cthulhu looked down.

He saw

Arthur's right hand

gripping his body,

releasing a strange aura.

The Sun shattered

against Arthur's completely ruined body.

Cthulhu smiled.

[[A lowly creature like you…

possesses an absorption technique

that even I, the great one,

did not notice.]]

Cthulhu understood what had happened.

When he grabbed Arthur by the neck and flew with him from the Cosmic Road back to this world,

Arthur had activated the Blood Demon Technique at that exact moment.

He began absorbing Cthulhu's energy.

But his power—even with his sacred celestial body—could not withstand and fully merge it.

So instead, he transferred Cthulhu's energy directly into the power potions that the system had prepared beforehand in the storage.

The system had left nothing to chance.

It had placed nearly fifty empty potions,

and created a direct channel between Arthur's right hand and the storage.

With Arthur's current strength—the strength of a Celestial Sovereign—he was capable of doing this.

But it required understanding the system,

its method of operation,

or opening its gates to him completely.

Arthur still did not know whether the system was merely an electronic entity,

or a celestial being

that possessed true emotion and wisdom.

Throughout the battle between him and Cthulhu,

the system had continued warning him, encouraging him,

and offering strategic advice and ideas for combat.

And now,

it had placed fifty power bottles in the storage

without taking a single point from Arthur.

All of this—

simply to give him a chance to win.

From the first moment Arthur's right hand touched Cthulhu's body,

the energy began to crawl—slowly at first, then at incredible speed—

from Cthulhu's body into the storage,

then into the bottles, one after another.

The bottles filled at an unbelievable rate,

as even a small portion of Cthulhu's power was enough to fill one vial easily.

Arthur smiled calmly,

continuing his work without stopping,

feeling the essence of a true celestial entity in every moment.

Within only a few minutes,

nearly 25% of Cthulhu's energy had been absorbed.

But the price

was immense.

Arthur lost everything.

His body—his entire celestial body—had shattered.

Only his chest and head remained,

filled with golden blood.

Arthur had not died yet.

The Sovereign potion still flowed within his body,

keeping him balanced on the edge of death.

He knew with absolute certainty that he would die at any moment,

and that every second now might be his last.

Cthulhu stood over Arthur's shattered body,

his smile filled with arrogance and absolute pride.

[[You fought well, insignificant creature. Now die. And do not worry…

I will return to your original world,

and I will drain everything within it.]]
