Chapter 47

Arthur's Return (5)

The words slipped away from Nami's mouth for a moment.

She hesitated, fidgeting with her fingers, and then—as if she had finally made up her mind—she lifted her head and spoke.

"Arthur… I know you have miraculous healing potions, or whatever they're called. I know they're rare… and perhaps very precious to you."

She paused for a moment, then continued in a less steady voice:

"But… can I ask for two?

Could you give me two of them?"

Arthur was surprised by her request.

The crew was not unaware of the miraculous healing potions, but Arthur had explained to them from the beginning that their ingredients were rare and difficult to obtain, and that the quantity he possessed was extremely limited.

He would never be stingy with them when his crew truly needed them, but he preferred to save them for extreme situations… when death was genuinely imminent.

He looked at her carefully.

"Who are the potions for?

Are you alright, Nami?"

Nami smiled faintly, touched by his concern.

"I'm completely fine.

But you might not know… these two giants are our friends, and they're only one step away from death."

She sighed, then continued with painful honesty:

"I know I have no right to ask for something like this. I know what I'm asking is a lot… and maybe I shouldn't even be asking you.

But… can you save them?"

Arthur's expression immediately changed as he listened to her words.

"Yes… it's not your place to ask for something like that, Nami."

He said it with a harsh face and a dry tone.

Nami was stunned.

She hadn't expected such firmness, nor this sudden coldness. But she did not object, nor did she say anything.

The potions belonged to Arthur alone, and his decision about them was unquestionable. If he chose to save someone, no one could stop him… and if he chose otherwise, no one could change his mind.

She lowered her head sadly.

And at that moment…

she felt a hand grasp her own.

She lifted her head in surprise and saw Arthur placing something in her palm.

"It's not your place to ask…

Just say it, and I'll give it to you."

He smiled calmly.

"You don't need to ask me in the first place, Nami."

In her hand… were two potions.

"Make sure they're still alive when you use them,"

he said in a serious tone.

"Otherwise their bodies will explode, and everyone around them might die with them."

Nami's eyes widened, then she smiled with overwhelming joy.

She squeezed Arthur's hand tightly with sincere gratitude before rushing toward the giants.

Previously, Arthur could only produce one potion per day, and then he would have to wait for some time.

Later, that number became two thanks to his tremendous growth.

Arthur could now produce two potions daily, but exceeding that limit meant a long wait.

He would have to wait an entire week before he could produce another potion.

Arthur smiled as he watched Nami hurry toward the fat giant, and afterward everyone moved together toward the location of the tall giant to save him.

A short while later, they arrived.

The tall giant's injury was extremely critical.

But he remained alive thanks to Luffy and Usopp, who were hurriedly bandaging his wounds while preparing to leave and rescue their companions.

Suddenly, however, they saw Arthur and the others approaching from the opposite direction… along with the fat giant.

Usopp's eyes widened in shock, and he nearly fainted.

Nami rushed forward quickly, confirmed that the tall giant was still breathing, and immediately placed the potion into his mouth.

And after a short time…

their bodies recovered completely, as if nothing had ever happened.

Everyone sat together talking and laughing, joy filling the air.

Vivi was laughing too, smiling with relief. She was no longer afraid of Arthur as she had been before; after he had saved her, her heart had opened to him a little.

Usopp was celebrating happily with the giants.

Luffy was talking to Nami with great excitement.

And Arthur and Zoro sat together drinking quietly, laughing from time to time.

Arthur glanced around and noticed the absence of one person.

"Where's Sanji?"

he asked calmly.

Zoro took a drink irritably before answering:

"We challenged each other… to see who could hunt the biggest monster on the island.

Each of us went in a different direction."

Arthur smiled lightly, then returned to his drink.

Suddenly…

he heard footsteps approaching from behind.

He turned and smiled calmly.

A familiar foolish voice shouted:

"Naaamiiii-saaaan!

Vivi-chaaaan!

Are you girls alright? Did you miss me?!"

The first thing Sanji's eyes landed on… was Nami and Vivi.

When he noticed they were wearing nothing but bras, his nose instantly burst into a nosebleed from sheer perversion.

Arthur raised his hand and smacked his forehead.

"It seems his foolish habits haven't changed."

Zoro sighed.

"Nothing's changed."

It took Sanji a moment to process everything around him.

After finishing his intense staring at Nami and Vivi, he finally opened his eyes fully and noticed the giants, leaving him shocked.

He began talking with everyone, explaining how he had obtained the Alabasta log pose.

Arthur was sitting beside Zoro, so Sanji had not noticed him yet.

But after a few minutes…

Sanji turned around—and suddenly froze.

His entire body went rigid as he stared at the person sitting beside Zoro.

The scene was so strange that even Arthur himself found it odd.

"What's with that shock, Sanji?

Did you miss me?"

Arthur said it with a light joke.

But even the joke did not pull Sanji out of his frozen state.

The crew laughed, and Luffy and Usopp began repeating Arthur's words just to tease him.

"Oooh… you missed Arthur!"

"Hmmm… were you really missing your crewmate? I'm touched."

The crew joked and laughed together.

Except for two people who did not laugh at all: Sanji and Arthur.

After a few minutes, Sanji adjusted his expression, gave Arthur a light smile, and returned to the celebration to continue talking and laughing with the others.

Arthur watched Sanji silently, wondering:

Why does he look so shocked? Why is he so surprised by my return?

Luffy, Zoro, and Nami—the people who love and respect me—didn't react like that.

Usopp nearly fainted from shock, and Sanji froze completely.

At first I didn't suspect anything… but the situation is getting stranger.

Arthur felt something very strange… a deep sense of unease tightening in his chest.

Someone like Arthur, who had lived a life filled with blood and killing, had learned to trust only his instincts in every situation.

In every experience or new encounter, he trusted them completely—and that was how he had survived until now.

His instincts were like a sixth sense, a seventh sense… even a hundredth sense.

Every time he had felt danger, danger had truly been there, and death had been approaching.

And every time he had felt this strange sensation, he had been betrayed by someone.

So why was he feeling this now? Why, how, and when?

Thoughts raced through his mind—warnings and countless analyses—but he shut them all down.

He decided to join the celebration with the crew, a small, gentle smile on his face, trying to forget that strange feeling and enjoy the moment.
