Chapter 64
Time of Judgment (2)
"It's time for judgment."
Arthur tightened his grip on his sword and pressed down on it violently. Anger flowed through his veins, and he made no attempt to hide it.
One of the men laughed mockingly and said loudly,
"Oooh, look at this little boy… he thinks he's a big man defending the girl."
Another laughed and added,
"What, do you think you're in an anime or something?"
"He thinks he'll beat all of us, and then the girl will fall in love with him!"
Laughter erupted, mixed with provocation and contempt.
{Constellation: Demon-like Judge of Fire is watching}
Before the humans—or even the constellations—could finish their comments, Arthur suddenly moved.
He raised his sword… then calmly threw it toward Kim Dokja.
Everyone froze for a moment.
The men burst out laughing.
"Hahahahaha!"
"Don't tell me you're going to beg for your life!"
Beneath the mask, a calm smile appeared…
a cold, demonic smile devoid of any mercy.
Arthur took a single step forward.
He walked past the big man without paying him any attention and stopped in front of one of his followers.
The follower opened his mouth, trying to throw another joke like his leader—
But before any sound could come out…
Something pierced through his chest.
At that moment, time seemed to stop in his eyes.
He slowly lowered his gaze…
and saw Arthur's hand buried inside his chest, holding a small bone dagger.
Arthur spoke in a low, emotionless voice:
"I won't stain my sword with your filthy blood."
The dagger was withdrawn.
The body fell.
Arthur moved immediately, without hesitation, toward the next man.
One after another…
He stabbed them all within a few minutes, with clean, swift movements that were not fatal, until only the big man remained.
Fear was clear on his face.
His legs trembled, and his voice was stuck in his throat.
Arthur did not kill him.
He merely struck him lightly, knocking him to the ground.
Then he picked up a rope from the floor, tied him firmly to a stone pillar, and left him there.
"Are you done, Arthur?"
Kim Dokja asked cautiously.
Arthur turned to him, his tone carrying genuine surprise.
"Done? Are you joking with me?"
Then he smiled.
"I… have only just begun."
"Dokja, do you know the best way to torture a leader?"
Dokja hesitated.
"No… I don't."
"Well."
Arthur said it with terrifying calm.
"Let me teach you."
{Some constellations are excited about what you will do}
{Constellation: Demon-like Judge of Fire encourages you to end the injustice}
{Constellation: Prisoner of the Golden Headband grabs popcorn and watches you}
Arthur raised his head slightly, as if addressing the sky.
"Dear constellations… allow this little one to give another lesson."
He smiled beneath the mask.
"In the previous lesson, I taught you how to make a dagger from the fang of an Ichthyosaur monster.
Now… I'll tell you the best way to torture a leader."
What the hell is he talking about?
Kim Dokja thought anxiously.
Why this absolute brutality? He could have killed them and ended it…
{Some constellations listen carefully}
When the notification appeared before his eyes, Dokja froze.
The constellations… were actually listening?
Arthur gathered the ten men in front of their tied-up leader.
They were bleeding, their breaths ragged, death only a step away.
Arthur stood before the first man—a deep stab wound in his abdomen.
He smiled calmly.
No one saw the gentle smile behind the mask.
He reached out… and plunged his hand deep into the wound.
The wound widened until it was the size of his fist.
The man screamed in hysterical pain.
Arthur raised his hand and struck his neck forcefully.
His breathing stopped.
The man died quickly.
Arthur sighed with feigned regret.
"I'm sorry, constellations… this bastard died too quickly."
Then he smiled again.
"But don't worry… we still have nine more rats."
The big man was trembling, crying, collapsing in on himself as Arthur moved among them.
He tore off one man's head.
He struck another with the body of his companion.
He disfigured a third man's face without hesitation.
He took the big man's iron knuckles and shoved them into another's stomach.
Filthy… disgusting torture continued without pause.
Twenty-nine full minutes.
When Arthur finished with the ten men, he stood straight.
He took a deep breath.
"Perhaps some of you are wondering…"
he said calmly.
"There's only one minute left. How will I give it to the great leader?"
He turned toward him.
"It's very simple."
Silence fell.
Even the constellations did not comment.
The big man had lost all his hair.
He had urinated on himself in fear.
He was smashing his head against the wall violently, like a madman.
Arthur spoke in a cold voice:
"And now… everyone has learned."
Then he added,
"The best way to torture a leader…
is to torture his subordinates in front of him."
Arthur covered his fist with Hardening Haki.
A black fist… heavy… final.
He swung his arm.
And struck.
The big man's head shattered at the exact moment the scenario ended.
Arthur raised his head and pointed upward.
"Ooooi… don't forget to donate."
He smiled.
"Watching and learning isn't free, you know."
His eyes were looking higher than the ceiling.
As if he could see the constellations themselves.
As if he were threatening them.
Messages poured in like madness—
Praise, insults, admiration, disgust.
But one name made Kim Dokja freeze.
Asmodeus…
What the hell is he doing here?
{Constellation: Prisoner of the Golden Headband is pleased with your judgment}
{Constellation: The Secretive Plotter looks at you}
{Constellation: Demon-like Judge of Fire is delighted by the bloodshed}
{Constellation: The Miracle Narrator smiles at you}
{Many constellations are pleased with the way you ended the scenario}
{You have fulfilled the conditions of the scenario}
{You received 500 coins}
{2,000 coins have been donated by the constellations}
Arthur finally sighed, as if a heavy burden had been lifted from his chest.
"Man…"
he said with a smile.
"Bottling up your anger inside… makes you go crazy, doesn't it, Dokja?"
Kim Dokja swallowed.
"I… don't even know what to say."
Arthur laughed.
He took some water, washed his hands, then his body and mask from the blood.
After that…
he stepped forward and picked up the girl.
"So… where to now?"
Kim Dokja carried the supplies over his shoulder and began walking forward with steady steps. They walked for some time in relative silence, until the surroundings gradually began to change.
After a short while, the three of them reached a large gathering area of survivors. Quiet voices, tense whispers, and pale faces exhausted by fear and hunger filled the place.
Arthur began searching among the crowd for the little boy.
Before he could find him, both of them heard someone call out:
"Dokja!"
Arthur and Kim Dokja turned at the same time.
The girl who had previously accompanied Dokja was standing there. She looked calmer than before, though exhaustion was still clear on her face.
They all reunited again. As they exchanged glances, a small boy rushed out from the crowd and hugged Arthur tightly.
It was Yi Sun.
Arthur smiled and gently patted his head—a rare tenderness from him.
"I'm glad you're safe."
"What Yoo Joonghyuk said… was true."
The girl turned to him and asked in surprise:
"Dokja… who is Yoo Joonghyuk?"
Arthur also looked at Kim Dokja.
In truth, he did not know the name Yoo Joonghyuk until this moment. So when he heard the name, he could not immediately connect it to that person.
Surprise appeared on Dokja's face.
"Arthur, didn't you meet him in the subway earlier?
You were the one who told me he was still there… when we were on the bridge."
Arthur paused for a moment… then understood.
"Oooh…"
he said slowly.
"You mean that bastard who shattered my bones."
He smiled calmly beneath the mask as the memory of the fight passed through his mind.
That confrontation… had not been ordinary.
"He shattered your bones?"
Dokja asked with concern.
"What do you mean? What happened after he threw me?"
Arthur opened his mouth to speak, then hesitated.
He cut off my feet… broke my hands… almost killed me.
But if he said that, the next question would be inevitable:
How are you still alive?
No one in this world knew about the miraculous healing potions.
And Arthur had no intention of being the first to reveal that.
So he avoided the truth.
"Nothing important,"
he said calmly.
"I fought him… and lost."
Kim Dokja's expression immediately changed.
Arthur fought Yoo Joonghyuk in regression… the protagonist of the story?
Then how is he still alive?
Dokja's thoughts began to tangle and collide violently in his head.
That thick-headed guy… usually never left anyone alive.
"Ahem… ahem."
The light cough broke his thoughts.
The girl had cleared her throat politely, bringing him back to reality.
She asked courteously,
"Dokja… who is this young man?"
Arthur smiled calmly behind the mask, then spoke in a lightly formal tone:
"Narin.
My name is Arthur Narin.
I survived with Yi Sun when we were in the subway carriage."
Kim Dokja smiled and began introducing everyone:
"The lady in front of you is Yoo Sangah.
This is Lee Hyunsung.
And this boy is Lee Gilyoung."
Arthur raised his right hand to his chest and bowed slightly in respect.
"A pleasure to meet you all.
As I said before, I am Arthur Narin."
Then he looked at the small boy beside him and said gently,
"And this is Yi Sun. Greet them, Yi Sun."
Yi Sun bowed politely and respectfully, which made Yoo Sangah and Lee Hyunsung smile instinctively at his kindness.
Everyone began talking a little, exchanging words and reassurance, until Kim Dokja suddenly remembered something important.
"What did Yoo Joonghyuk say to you guys?"
Yoo Sangah answered in a calm but clear voice:
"He said that Kim Dokja… might still be alive."
Then she added, after a brief moment of silence:
"But the other boy… the one with the mask… said he died."
At the moment those words were spoken,
everyone's gazes slowly turned…
toward Arthur.
A heavy silence filled the air.
Beneath the mask, Arthur raised an eyebrow and said in a calm tone not without sarcasm:
"I'm not dead yet."
Then he added:
"Why is everyone looking at me like they've seen a ghost?"
