Chapter 92

The Absolute Throne (2)

"Oy, Dokja, you bastard! What did you do to him this time?!"

Arthur's voice thundered with anger, piercing through the space like an arrow as he shouted fiercely at Kim Dokja.

In contrast, Kim Dokja showed not the slightest hint of regret. Instead, he wore an irritating, foolish grin, then turned and began running around the area, frantically gathering weapons and artifacts as if completely unconcerned with the chaos he had caused.

At that moment, another sharp cry rang out.

Yoo Joonghyuk shot forward like lightning toward Kim Dokja, his sword gleaming with lethal intent as it cut through the air to kill him. But just before it reached him, the attack stopped abruptly.

A beautiful black-cyan sword, radiating a majestic aura, intercepted Yoo Joonghyuk's blade with force. Arthur had intervened at the decisive moment.

The swords clashed, roaring like thunder. Violent auras exploded from the impact, and a terrifying pressure bore down on everyone nearby, as if the air itself were suffocating.

"Arthur, step aside! I have an old score to settle with that damned bastard!"

Yoo Joonghyuk growled, his rage threatening to burn everything around him.

But Arthur didn't move. Instead, he tightened his grip and forced Yoo Joonghyuk's sword back with strength.

"And why are you this angry, Yoo Joonghyuk?" he said in a sarcastic tone that barely concealed his tension, then continued,

"If you have a problem, tell me and I'll help you solve it. Just don't destroy this damned world with your even more damned anger."

At that moment, only five rulers remained in the arena.

Kim Dokja, Yoo Joonghyuk, Arthur, and two others.

The black dokkaebi appeared in the sky, a cold, formal smile on his face.

{Very well. The ruler conditions have been met. Only five rulers remain. The qualified rulers will now be transported to the final test location.}

A beautiful yellow light shone beneath the feet of the remaining rulers, growing brighter until they vanished from their places, leaving the others behind in heavy silence.

That was when Arthur noticed something strange.

Only he, Yoo Joonghyuk, and the other two rulers had been transported.

Kim Dokja… remained outside the yellow barrier.

Yoo Joonghyuk didn't hesitate. He dashed forward at insane speed toward the two remaining rulers, intent on killing them and ending this tedious matter as quickly as possible.

Meanwhile, Arthur remained standing in place, analyzing the situation with sharp eyes as messages appeared before him.

{From this point on, incarnations will no longer receive support from their sponsoring constellations.}

{From this point on, item power and defense will be limited.}

{All stats will be reset to:

10 / 10 / 10 / 10 / 10}

Arthur ignored the messages, thinking calmly.

'What did that idiot do to make Yoo Joonghyuk this angry?

And why hasn't he entered yet?'

As he thought, his gaze shifted toward Kim Dokja. He was standing with Jung Heewon, and beside them was a small girl.

Arthur's eyes froze for a moment as he stared at her.

She looked like Yoo Joonghyuk… disturbingly so.

'Don't tell me that idiot…'

In that instant, Arthur understood what had happened.

Seconds later, Kim Dokja finally entered the barrier, and its effects immediately took hold of him.

Yoo Joonghyuk was locked in a fierce battle against the Beauty Ruler Min Jieun and the Materia Ruler Cha Sangkyung.

Kim Dokja stood beside Arthur.

"You stupid bastard… you really did this, didn't you?" Arthur said through clenched teeth.

"No wonder Yoo Joonghyuk wants to kill you."

Kim Dokja sighed calmly.

"I didn't have another choice. And now… I have a request."

"Speak."

Kim Dokja stepped closer and whispered a strange, irrational plan into Arthur's ear. Arthur listened silently, his eyes narrowing with every word. When he finished, a calm smile appeared on Arthur's face.

"And what do I get in return?"

"I promise you something good… something that will help your Dragon Form."

Then Kim Dokja pulled something from his pocket and handed it to Arthur.

It was a small red gem.

Arthur immediately remembered seeing it before—on the head of the tyrant ruler. He hadn't had the chance to take it because of Yoo Joonghyuk's interference. After Arthur had turned the tyrant's body into a skeleton, the gem had fallen to the ground.

Arthur smiled faintly and took the dragon gem without hesitation. He consumed it quickly, merging it directly with the dragon core inside him.

[Dragon Form has evolved from Level 1 to Level 3]

[Duration increased to 1 minute]

| Dragon Form

Transforms your entire body into a human-dragon hybrid

Solid defense – powerful offense – high focus

Level: 3

Duration: 1 minute |

Arthur smiled as he looked at the system window, then raised his head toward Yoo Joonghyuk, who had just finished off the two rulers and now turned his killing gaze toward Kim Dokja before charging at him at terrifying speed.

At that moment, immense power erupted within Arthur's body, and the area filled with thick, hot dust.

Arthur transformed into Dragon Form and shot forward like an arrow toward Yoo Joonghyuk.

Yoo Joonghyuk's eyes widened in shock at the strange transformation, but he didn't retreat. Instead, he met the attack with unbelievable force.

Arthur's claws clashed violently with Yoo Joonghyuk's sword. The battle lasted nearly forty seconds, dust scattering in all directions as their powers collided with savage speed, making it impossible for those outside to follow their movements.

They were no longer mere fighters.

They were monsters.

Arthur smiled madly, raised his head to the sky, and roared with all his might.

"Great King's Roar!"

It was a technique he had created himself—combining the sharp roar of a dragon with his magical energy to produce a terrifying sonic attack.

The ground trembled beneath everyone's feet. Even those outside the barrier began bleeding from their ears due to the sheer force of the roar.

Kim Dokja barely held himself together as he watched the two monsters fight helplessly.

But the one most affected by the terrifying technique was Yoo Joonghyuk.

His eyes began to bleed, and his body shook violently.

At that moment, Arthur leapt high into the sky, suspended there as he clenched his right hand tightly.

He struck the air behind him, then shot forward with overwhelming speed and power, swinging his arm in a direct blow toward Yoo Joonghyuk's face.

Yoo Joonghyuk's body was sent flying outside the barrier.

At the same instant, Arthur collapsed to the ground and reverted to his human form. He panted heavily, his body screaming under the strain.

'Damn it… my body hasn't even adapted to Level 1 Dragon Form—let alone Level 3…

It almost killed me…'

Arthur gritted his teeth.

'I really should have strengthened my body before entering this scenario.'

Even if he had, the scenario conditions would have forced all stats down anyway.

He could have temporarily enhanced his body with coins… but that enhancement wouldn't have been permanent.

And yet, Arthur hadn't used that method.

He hadn't relied on tricks or shortcuts. He had faced Yoo Joonghyuk head-on with pure strength, using only his Dragon Form—no deception, no retreat.

Slowly, Arthur lifted his gaze and saw Yoo Joonghyuk lying outside the barrier, motionless, completely unconscious from the final blow.

A heavy silence fell.

Only two people remained inside the barrier.

Arthur… and Kim Dokja.

The black dokkaebi turned to them, a faint meaningful smile on his lips.

{Now… fight, and decide which of you will become the king.}

Arthur's expression didn't change.

No tension.

No hesitation.

Not even excitement.

He smiled calmly—a faint smile devoid of ambition—then raised his hand and said clearly:

"I… withdraw."

The moment those words left his lips—

Time itself seemed to stop.

Movement ceased.

The air froze.

Even the constellations were stunned.

From all appearances…

Arthur could have defeated Kim Dokja easily.

He could have claimed the throne.

He could have become the undisputed king.

But…

There was something no one knew.

Arthur had never cared about becoming a king.

He had walked the hidden scenario—The Path of the King—for only two reasons:

First: the King Attribute.

Second: failure meant death.

Now…

He had obtained the King Attribute.

That was all that mattered to him.

He had no interest in the Absolute Throne.

No desire to become the Absolute King.

No attachment to the title others fought for.

And so…

Arthur took a step back,

and left everything to Kim Dokja.

He gave him the chance.

A chance for the one with the strange plan…

The plan no one yet understood.
