Chapter 137
The End and Nothingness (5)
End of Volume two
With a faint snap of Arthur's fingers, the space inside the Heavenly Room twisted as though it were a piece of cloth being wrung violently, and in the next moment, Kim Dokja appeared at the center of the place.
"You're here, Dokja."
Kim Dokja quickly raised his head, his eyes wandering across the endless white surrounding him.
"Arthur… where are we right now? What did you do? And where did you disappear to after killing the Dokkaebis?"
Arthur smiled calmly, without tension or haste.
"Well… well, I'll tell you."
He sighed quietly, then began recounting what had happened, shortening the passage of time, narrating the events one after another without emotion, as though what he had done had been nothing more than inevitable steps along a path already drawn long ago.
Kim Dokja fell silent for a moment after Arthur finished.
"So… you've already consumed three walls, and the final wall… is with me."
"Yes."
Arthur stepped forward.
"Can I—"
Kim Dokja interrupted him before he could finish.
"Yes, Arthur, you can take it… but are you sure? Are you certain there are no consequences? Or any harm that could affect you?"
Kim Dokja's tone was filled with concern, his eyes fixed on Arthur's body.
That body radiated power, but at the same time… it was cracked, fractured, as though something inside it were slowly devouring it.
What frightened Kim Dokja was not the power, but that overly calm tone, and that cold gaze devoid of hesitation.
As if he were not speaking to his friend… but to a dead man still walking.
What happened to you, Arthur?
Pain gathered in Kim Dokja's chest as he looked at him.
"Thank you, my friend… and don't worry. There's no danger."
Arthur said it calmly, then raised his hand and placed it on Kim Dokja's head.
'I have to be careful… or I'll kill him.'
Arthur's power began slipping slowly into Kim Dokja's body, with unusual gentleness.
This was not forced draining like what had happened with Metatron, the King of the Dokkaebis, or Azazel.
Back then, killing had been the objective, and there had been no reason for caution.
But now… the slightest mistake could erase Kim Dokja's existence entirely.
The power seeped deeper, searching, feeling, avoiding the essence of the soul.
Then—
"Found it."
The moment he spoke the words, a pure energy erupted from Kim Dokja's body.
His body shook violently, then collapsed unconscious onto the ground.
The Fourth Wall has been safely drained from Kim Dokja's body
Arthur breathed deeply, as though a heavy burden had finally been lifted from his chest.
"And finally…"
He looked at Kim Dokja lying on the ground, and a faint smile appeared on his face, sincere and rare.
"When you wake up, my friend… you'll forget everything about me."
Arthur then turned toward the many screens suspended throughout the void.
Screens showing humanity everywhere.
Some were fighting.
Some were resting for a few short seconds.
Some were suffering.
And some… were laughing.
"The world will forget who I am."
Are you certain about this decision, Arthur?
"Yes. As long as the world will be fine… then I'm fine too.
It's true that everyone will forget me, but that doesn't matter.
I still have you."
Very well… let's do it.
Arthur exhaled quietly, then pulled out the four walls from storage, one after another.
The moment they drew near, their powers merged violently and overwhelmingly into his body.
His eyes glowed with a sacred white light, pure and flawless.
His aura expanded, changed, magnified… until it engulfed the entire Heavenly Room.
{{So… this is what it feels like to be a complete ruler.}}
A body born within this world, carrying its laws, and with the power of the four walls… Arthur had become the absolute ruler of this existence.
Capable of doing anything.
His voice changed, becoming gentle and pure, as though it no longer belonged to conflict.
He looked upon time.
The past…
The present…
And the future.
He saw every possible timeline.
A timeline where he had never been summoned to this world, and his friend had become the founder, the beginning of the end.
A timeline where Kim Dokja sacrificed himself.
A timeline where Yoo Joonghyuk lived without ever knowing Kim Dokja.
And another timeline where Yoo Joonghyuk had taken the constellation Demon King of Salvation as his sponsor.
All the timelines passed, folded, vanished…
Until only one remained.
{{So… everything began when Kim Dokja was just a little boy.}}
Arthur raised his hand and calmly moved his finger, tearing reality itself apart.
Existence trembled with indescribable majesty.
Then…
A heavenly gate opened inside the Heavenly Room.
Arthur looked at the unconscious Kim Dokja and smiled.
{{Goodbye, my friend.}}
And with a small, warm smile, he stepped through the gate… and vanished.
---
"You bastard! Didn't I tell you to bring me a bottle of alcohol?!"
A rough, drunken voice screamed, filled with brutality.
A man with red cheeks from excessive drinking stood there, while before him was a beaten woman and a little boy crying in pain.
The man approached the child and began beating him mercilessly.
At that moment, the woman burst into tears.
"I'm sorry, my son…"
She said it in a low, broken voice as she looked at her child.
Then she stood up, holding a small knife in her hand.
"Oooh? Do you want to kill me, you little whore?"
The man laughed with mockery and delight.
But before the woman could do anything—
A great heavenly light exploded forth, pure and brilliant, piercing through the man's body and tearing him apart completely.
His body disintegrated within the light, leaving behind nothing… not even a speck of dust.
The woman and the child collapsed unconscious from the sheer aura.
And from within the light…
A human silhouette moved, surrounded by an unimaginable power and an absolutely pure aura.
{{So… this is Dokja when he was little.}}
Arthur looked at the small boy lying before him and smiled with genuine kindness.
{{Well then… let me leave you with another gift.}}
Arthur's hand moved with absolute calm toward the woman and the small child, Kim Dokja, and the moment he touched them, a pure, beautiful, warm aura enveloped them, like the merciful light of dawn.
The energy flowed gently, healing wounds, sealing scars, and restoring peace to their bodies.
Then the power slowly slipped into their minds, without pain, without shock…
And erased every painful memory, every fear, every dark night,
replacing them with warm, simple, beautiful memories… memories of an ordinary life.
Arthur looked around him, and his eyes stopped on a small laptop carelessly placed near the bed.
A faint smile appeared on his face.
"Everything started when you were little… you loved reading novels on your computer, Arthur."
He remembered Kim Dokja's words from when they had been together, and a quiet, sincere smile full of longing appeared on his face.
Arthur moved his hand, and his power intertwined with the laws of the world itself.
The computer lit up, and the soft startup sound echoed.
Then simple words were written across the small screen:
[Shadows Before the ∆∆∆]
In the next moment, Arthur faded away with the air, a small smile still lingering on his face.
---
He moved once again.
This time… to the moment Kim Dokja boarded the subway.
To the future created without scenarios, without Dokkaebis, without bloodshed.
Arthur stood watching silently, unnoticed by anyone.
He saw Kim Dokja sitting there, smiling, happy, reading a novel on his phone.
"Damn… this protagonist really is strong, but…"
Kim Dokja sighed, closed the phone, and slipped it into his pocket.
"Why do I feel like I know him? And why do I feel sadness and pain whenever I read this novel?
Well… maybe because I've been reading it since I was young."
He smiled softly, then looked to his right.
A beautiful woman was gently holding his arm.
"Yoo Sangah, dear… we've arrived."
Yoo Sangah lazily opened her eyes and smiled.
The subway stopped, and the two got off together, walking side by side toward their destination.
Arthur quietly followed them, unnoticed.
Kim Dokja and Yoo Sangah walked until they reached a beautiful building, slightly large, elegant, illuminated by warm lights.
Standing before the building was a man with a well-built muscular body and sharp, steady eyes.
"Mr. Kim Dokja, you're finally here!"
Lee Hyunsung said with obvious joy.
"How many times have I told you, Lee Hyunsung? Don't call me sir… we're companions."
Lee Hyunsung smiled awkwardly.
"Well… everyone is waiting for us."
The three entered together.
Inside, the hall was spacious, beautiful, filled with laughter and warmth.
People wore elegant clothes, faces were bright, and the atmosphere… peaceful.
Yi Shun, Lee Gilyoung, and Shin Yooseung were running and playing together, laughing without a care.
Lee Jihye and Jung Heewon approached, speaking with sincere smiles.
And in another corner, Han Sooyoung sat with Asuka Ren, passionately arguing about their novels, story developments, and how each claimed superiority over the other.
Meanwhile, in a slightly distant corner…
Stood people surrounded by pure, calm auras.
The Great Sage, Equal of Heaven.
Uriel.
Hades and Persephone.
The First Sword of Goryeo.
And many constellations… who had now become human, thanks to Arthur.
Kim Dokja looked around him, a small smile never leaving his face.
"So… you've arrived, my son."
A calm, low voice spoke.
Kim Dokja turned around, his eyes widening.
"Mother… you're here?"
He smiled and embraced her.
Everyone sat together, talking, laughing, enjoying the moment.
"You bastard, have you finished reading that ridiculous novel or what?"
Han Sooyoung said mockingly as she looked at Kim Dokja.
"It's a beautiful novel… unbelievably wonderful. And no, it hasn't ended yet."
"I told you a hundred times, stop reading that novel!
What's the point of a story about a protagonist traveling through multiple worlds?
He should stay in one world… fight, grow stronger, save people, kill people!"
"And that exactly… is what makes the novel beautiful."
Everyone around the table sighed as they watched their usual childish argument.
"They've finally arrived."
Lee Jihye said while looking toward the door.
A man with a well-built muscular body, sharp eyes, and shining black hair entered.
It was Yoo Joonghyuk, dressed in an elegant formal suit.
And beside him… Lee Seolhwa, wearing a beautiful white dress.
Today was their wedding day.
Arthur smiled quietly as he looked down at everyone from above.
No one sensed him… and no one could see him.
Arthur
'Yes…'
Tell me, is this the ending you always dreamed of?
'Yes… this is the ending I wished for, on that night atop the theater rooftop, beneath the falling meteors.'
Arthur looked at everyone… alive, happy, living ordinary lives.
But he… was not among them.
He felt a trace of sadness.
A quiet, deep sadness.
The companions he fought beside, laughed beside, suffered beside…
were happy now, without him.
And he could not change that.
For he had now become a being that transcended this world.
If he revealed himself… reality, time, and space would collapse.
For the first time in his life… Arthur felt sorrow because of his own power.
He sighed quietly.
No Dokkaebis.
No Star Stream.
No wars.
No monsters.
This… was the story he had wanted to create from the very beginning.
Night fell.
And suddenly… a great sound thundered across the sky, the sound of a massive rupture.
Everyone hurried outside and raised their heads.
And in the sky, words written from pure heavenly light appeared:
[Happy marriage and a beautiful life to everyone]
[Arthur Narin]
The words carved themselves into the sky.
Everyone smiled, and felt something strange…
sadness, longing, warmth.
Kim Dokja looked at the words and tried to read the name beneath them…
but he could not.
He and Yoo Joonghyuk both felt something strange, pain without reason, longing without memory.
"So…"
Kim Dokja said.
Yoo Joonghyuk smiled faintly.
"I'm happy, Dokja."
They smiled together and looked toward the sky.
The energy has begun leaving your body by force
Activating Energy Preservation – Storage Complete
Beginning spiritual transfer to another world
{{The Miracle Narrator smiles and applauds this wonderful ending.
Well done, Transmigrator…
and now, let us see which story will choose you next.}}
The voice appeared within Arthur's consciousness as he drifted through a cosmic path filled with stars.
"What… who are you?"
Those were… Arthur's final words,
before he lost consciousness, as usual.
And moved on…
to a journey no one knew.
