Chapter 145
A New Battle
Arthur moved swiftly and stepped out of the training room, raising his gaze cautiously.
The moment he reached the courtyard, his eyes widened slightly.
Chaos filled the entire place.
The men of Black Wind Mountain were engaged in a fierce battle against Old Jiu's soldiers. Swords clashed, auras collided, and furious shouts filled the air.
Arthur lifted his gaze toward the sky.
There…
a violent collision shook the very space itself, terrifying energies intertwining with overwhelming force.
On the other side, the ground suddenly exploded, and four golden dragons burst forth, roaring loudly as they rushed toward one of the men, wrapping around him and tearing him apart in an instant.
Arthur frowned.
"Zhuo Fan's array… what is that idiot doing?"
He took a deep breath, then shot forward at incredible speed, his body turning into a blur.
He arrived at the center of the clash…
but Zhuo Fan was nowhere to be found.
The only person standing there was an old man standing firmly in place, his aura dense and powerful.
It was Li Yun Tian, the former leader of Black Wind Mountain.
"Old man, where is Zhuo Fan?"
Li Yun Tian answered in a deep voice:
"He rushed toward the forest."
"Damn…"
Arthur did not waste even a second.
He turned and shot toward the forest like an arrow.
A few moments later, a terrifying sound of collision echoed from deep within.
Arthur paused briefly, his eyes gleaming.
"He's there… but who is he fighting? What a monstrous aura."
He rushed inside and found the scene before him.
Zhuo Fan…
and Miss Li…
were facing an old man whose aura was cruel, whose energy was savage, and whose pressure suffocated the air itself.
'It's…
Old Jian… or something like that,
as Zhuo Fan told me.'
An excited smile spread across Arthur's face.
He raised the Weapon King Bracelet while Wrath remained hidden behind him within the shadows.
"Arthur! You stupid bastard! Where the hell were you?!"
Zhuo Fan shouted without taking his eyes off his opponent.
Arthur laughed.
"Zhuo Fan, you damned lunatic, didn't I tell you to inform me whenever there was an entertaining fight like this? Why didn't you tell me?"
The two smiled matching demonic smiles, a mixture of arrogance and confidence.
At that moment, Old Jian moved and waved his hand.
Dense violet magical energy burst from his palm directly toward Zhuo Fan's head.
Arthur moved.
He was not fast…
he was instantaneous.
He appeared before Zhuo Fan in a single moment, grabbing the old man's right arm with a steel-like grip, while at the same instant his left hand pierced through the old man's head with devastating force.
'If I hadn't used Wrath at the last moment…
this old bastard would have turned me into minced meat.'
At the very first contact, Wrath surged through Arthur's arm and pierced the old man's body.
His body suddenly froze.
He could no longer move.
Under Arthur's direct command, Wrath pressed down on the source of magic inside the old man's body and completely sealed it.
In a single instant, that terrifying entity became nothing more than an ordinary human body.
Then—
BOOM!
With Arthur's lethal strike, the old man's head shattered like a crushed melon.
The body collapsed motionless.
Arthur exhaled in relief.
"Ooooh man… that bastard was truly a troublesome opponent."
He stood beside Zhuo Fan while Miss Li remained to the side, completely stunned.
Zhuo Fan calmly divided the spoils;
he took two golden pieces from the old man's ring along with a spatial pouch, and gave the rest to Miss Li.
Arthur did not care much about the loot…
but something inside the spatial pouch caught his attention.
"Zhuo Fan, what's inside?"
Zhuo Fan smiled.
"Oh… it's Old Jiu's crow."
Arthur nodded before following Zhuo Fan.
The two headed toward Xian Long Hall,
and Arthur carried the exhausted Zhuo Fan over his shoulder as they returned to the Luo Family residence.
---
After some time…
"Oh? Where are Brother Zhuo Fan and Arthur? Why don't I see them?"
Old Jiu spoke calmly upon arriving at the residence.
Li Yun Tian stood at the entrance, a powerful aura surrounding his body.
"Servant Zhuo Fan suffered severe injuries during last night's attack and is still receiving treatment. As for Arthur… he's with him."
Old Jiu's eyes widened.
"Injured?! Did the men of that damned old bastard reach this place?"
Long Kui muttered mockingly:
"Hmm… he threatened to rise to the peak of the clans within ten years, yet now he's injured by a bunch of petty trash."
"Xiao Nui! Watch your tongue!"
Old Jiu shouted powerfully.
"Not every young master is like you, girl."
"What?!"
Arthur emerged from the back door, his expression calm, his gaze filled with disdain as he looked at Long Kui.
"Zhuo Fan was attacked by an old bastard called Elder Yun… or Xia.
And Zhuo Fan managed to kill him with Li Yun Tian's assistance."
Everyone gasped.
"What? Elder Yun Xing?! I never expected him to appear… and Brother Zhuo Fan actually defeated him? That's truly incredible!"
Arthur smiled calmly as he watched the shock and disbelief on their faces.
"Ah… why are you all so noisy?"
The door opened, and Zhuo Fan walked out looking annoyed.
"Brother Zhuo Fan! Are you alright?"
Old Jiu asked with genuine concern.
Zhuo Fan exhaled, then moved the golden ring in his hand.
Jian Fan's corpse fell before everyone.
Silence descended.
"Elder… Jian Fan?!"
"Who killed this bastard?!"
Zhuo Fan smiled.
"Arthur and I… killed him easily."
Everyone was shaken.
In their eyes, Arthur and Zhuo Fan were weak…
yet they had defeated someone whom even Old Jiu himself could not overcome.
Old Jiu cupped his hands in a formal salute.
"From this moment onward, you are my brothers.
Anything you desire… shall be yours."
But anger and pride boiled within Long Kui.
"Hmph! Arrogant fools! You killed an injured man and now you want all the credit?!
Do you even know how much we suffered just to injure him? You merely found him wounded!"
Arthur smiled coldly and looked at her with contempt.
"Oh, that's true.
If Old Jian Fan hadn't been injured, I wouldn't have been able to kill him."
He paused briefly before continuing mockingly.
"But that's still better than fighting while surrounded by guards…
Even on the battlefield, they never leave my side to protect me.
Oh, look at me… I'm a genius disciple."
Silence filled the place.
Arthur's cold smile remained as his voice emerged steady and sharp:
"I fought with my life on the line…
not like certain people who always walk around surrounded by guards.
Whether they win or lose, their lives are guaranteed."
Zhuo Fan chuckled softly while looking at Arthur, then cast a mocking glance toward Long Kui without speaking, as though his laughter alone was enough to ridicule her.
One of the three elders stepped forward and cupped his hands respectfully.
"We shall take our leave now.
Brother Jiu, take care of Brothers Zhuo Fan and Arthur."
The moment he finished speaking, he and another elder departed, leaving only Old Jiu behind.
Arthur said nothing, merely smiling faintly before turning and returning to his room to continue training, while Zhuo Fan remained speaking calmly with Old Jiu.
---
Arthur entered his room and closed the door behind him before sitting down quietly.
'My body is stronger now… but not strong enough.
I still cannot use Necromancy or Dragon Form.
And my injured eye… I still haven't found a cure for it.'
He sighed deeply, feeling a hidden heaviness within his chest.
'I need to find a cure for my eye as soon as possible.'
He did not allow the thoughts to distract him any further.
Closing his eyes, he resumed training once again, pushing both his body and soul to their utmost limits.
---
One month later…
The door to the training room finally opened.
Arthur stepped out, and something about his presence had changed.
His aura had become steadier, his gaze deeper, and his body pulsed with pure, refined energy.
He smiled as he clenched his fist.
"Man… I really trained hard.
My body's stats are far better than before."
He opened his personal window.

As he walked down the corridor, he heard a familiar voice:
"Ooooh! Arthur! You're here!"
"Pang Tong, how have you been?"
But before he could finish speaking, Pang Tong suddenly fled and disappeared at top speed.
Arthur stopped and raised an eyebrow in confusion.
"What's going on? Why did he run away like that?"
He calmly shook his head and continued walking.
---
After a short while, Pang Tong returned…
but this time, he was not alone.
Young Lady Li Yun Xing stood beside him.
In her hand was a small wooden box.
A faint smile rested on her lips, but the sadness had still not left her eyes.
"My Lady… are you alright?"
Arthur spoke in a calm and gentle voice as he noticed the exhaustion hidden behind her features.
Li Yun Xing smiled lightly, then extended her hands and offered him the box.
"This… is for you. Please take it."
At that moment, cold sweat began pouring down Pang Tong's forehead as he stared at the box as though it contained deadly poison.
Arthur noticed the small injuries and bruises on Li Yun Xing's hands.
He smiled gently and accepted the box from her without hesitation.
He placed it on the table and opened it.
Inside was black-colored food with a strange and unpleasant smell.
"Alright, thank you for the meal."
He said it calmly before beginning to eat without hesitation.
The smile never disappeared from his face despite the disgusting taste.
He continued eating without stopping, as though he felt nothing at all.
Until he finished every last bite.
Then he cupped his hands respectfully and said with a sincere smile:
"Thank you, My Lady, for this delicious meal."
Li Yun Xing's eyes widened, and pure, unbelievable happiness appeared on her face.
She bowed lightly before leaving with steps far lighter than when she arrived.
Pang Tong stared at Arthur in disbelief.
"Man! How did you manage to eat that?
Brother Zhuo Fan tried tasting it once and nearly died from how awful it was!"
'So that's why she was sad…
What a small, adorable girl.'
Arthur smiled quietly before leaving the place.
---
While wandering around, he suddenly stopped.
A suffocating pressure…
a cold killing aura seeped in from outside the gate, from the direction of the forest.
Arthur's expression changed.
"What is happening this time?
This… isn't a warrior's aura."
He narrowed his eyes and felt a faint chill spread through his body.
"It's… an assassin's aura."
