"Uh…"
Aoi nearly choked. Activating all three techniques at once made him overwhelmingly powerful — enough to strike fear even into a tailed beast — but it also burned through chakra at a terrifying rate.
Without those potions, his reserves, which were only at the level of a high‑ranked Jōnin, would give out in just five seconds of full‑power use.
"Finish this quickly!"
Aoi drew the Kusanagi Sword and wrapped it in raging lightning.
His chakra, now far more refined and versatile, made his strength surge by more than just a fraction — even without the Lightning‑Attracting Meteorite, he had grown immensely.
Gurgle!
No matter how afraid it was, the Six‑Tails would not simply stand there and wait to be defeated.
It opened its wide, flower‑like mouth and spewed forth a stream of searing green acid.
Unlike Tsunade's gentle healing slug, this six‑tailed monstrosity's saliva had nothing to do with medicine. Every drop of that acid could eat through an entire forest.
To be hit by it meant not even a god would leave behind a whole corpse. But…
"Acid means nothing against my lightning!"
Aoi swung his blade, and the surging current instantly vaporized the stream of acid into thin wispy smoke, dissolving it completely.
Gurgle?
The entire slug froze in shock. Before it could react further, a bolt of thunder crashed down from above, wrapping its whole body in crackling electricity.
Gurgle…!
The Six‑Tails shrieked in agony, and a thick cloud of burnt smoke rose into the air.
"Hmm… looks like it's about medium‑well done!"
Still, Aoi never intended to kill it. Though tailed beasts were often treated like giant summons, in truth they were living embodiments of the world's chakra itself — the primal source of all energy in this realm.
Even if he exhausted himself to the point of death, he could never truly destroy one; knocking it unconscious was the absolute limit of what was possible.
When the lightning faded, Utakata lay there charred and limp amid the rubble.
No matter how Aoi prodded him, there was no sudden burst of hidden power, no last‑ditch counterattack dousing him in acid…
"He actually passed out!"
Aoi felt so relieved he almost wanted to cry. I'm basically a stranger with no official standing in this world, yet I managed to knock out a jinchūriki in a straight fight without triggering any catastrophic consequences.
Did that mean that once he grew strong enough, wearing the Akatsuki cloak, he could even defeat Naruto in fair combat and extract the power of Asura's bloodline openly?
If so, he would no longer need to travel back to the events of Naruto's birth or the Nine‑Tails' attack on Konoha.
As long as he could overpower the beast, he could take its power whenever he wished.
But right now, he was still not quite there…
"Perhaps after I break through that zone of black lightning, I'll have enough strength."
As he thought this over, a small figure caught his attention.
"Master Utakata, I'll get you out of here!"
Hotaru — beautiful and determined — had crept close while no one was looking. She hoisted Utakata onto her back and began to run.
ZAP!
A bolt of lightning flashed right in front of her, scorching a deep mark across the ground.
"Little girl, you aren't going anywhere."
Aoi stepped in her path, smiling and holding out his hand. "Hand over the Six‑Tails."
"Little girl?" Hotaru frowned in irritation. "You're the one who looks like a little boy!"
"Hmph!"
Aoi grumbled inwardly. "I may look like a kid now, but one day I'll grow into a man so impressive you'll be left speechless!"
"I'll give you the forbidden technique," Hotaru said, realizing she could not escape. She unrolled a scroll from her pack and held it out.
"But you must promise to spare Master Utakata."
ZAP!
Aoi destroyed the scroll with a flick of lightning and grinned. Nice try — do you think I haven't seen the show?
Your scene with the half‑exposed seal has been viewed over a hundred million times online…
He remembered how that fool Shiranami had once kidnapped her — out in the wild, late at night, alone with a beautiful girl, and even stripped her clothes.
In any normal story, things would have turned into something far more adult‑oriented.
Yet after all that build‑up, that scoundrel, worse than any beast, had only wanted to use her to conquer the world…
Shiranami truly lived up to his name — he let such a golden opportunity go completely to waste!
