Chapter 158 - Competition prizes

After the staff arrived, Qi Yuan stood up and greeted everyone.

"The track is ready. Everyone, get ready and head over there to familiarize yourselves with it first."

After Qi Yuan finished speaking, the group began to gather and walk toward the track.

As they walked, Qi Yuan asked Jiang Cheng and Wang Congcong, "What do you think we should set as the stakes for today's race?"

Wang Congcong shook his head and said with little interest, "Don't ask me questions like that. I'm just here for the fun, I'm not interested."

Qi Yuan rolled his eyes and then looked at Jiang Cheng, asking, "Brother Jiang, do you have any good suggestions?"

"What do you guys usually bet?" Jiang Cheng asked back.

Jiang Cheng knew that racing usually involved bets, which were the'stakes' Qi Yuan mentioned.

Although it wasn't underground gambling, racing was all about the atmosphere.

Having some stakes made it more exciting, which Jiang Cheng understood quite well.

"Betting is usually just about money. Before each race, everyone puts in ten thousand yuan as the prize for the winner. Otherwise, the last-place person treats everyone to dinner tonight or something like that," Qi Yuan replied.

As Jiang Cheng listened to Qi Yuan, a sudden flash of inspiration struck him.

He thought of the scene where he had donated money to A Hao earlier that afternoon.

Jiang Cheng suggested, "How about adding another condition to your bets? Let's take the ten thousand yuan each person puts up as chips and donate it to a nearby Orphanage in the winner's name, or set up a private charity to donate to people in need in society. What do you think?"

After Jiang Cheng said this, Wang Congcong and Qiao Yinyin couldn't help but turn their heads to look at him.

"Not bad, Jiang Cheng. I didn't expect you to have such a philanthropic spirit. Hearing you say that, I suddenly feel like this race has become interesting. I wasn't planning on joining such a boring race, but now that you've said this, I'd feel bad if I didn't go for a lap," Wang Congcong said to Jiang Cheng.

Seeing Jiang Cheng propose such a constructive idea, Qi Yuan immediately gave him a thumbs up.

"Brother Jiang, your idea is truly brilliant. I also feel my blood starting to boil. Usually, people say activities like ours, which burn through money, are just us being idle. But with you packaging it like this, it suddenly feels high-end. This way, we can not only enjoy the racing we love but also contribute to society. It's indeed excellent."

"Jiang Cheng, that's a fantastic idea." Qiao Yinyin also looked at Jiang Cheng and expressed her sincere admiration.

"What do you mean 'packaging'? I'm making a sincere suggestion, okay?" Jiang Cheng said, speechless.

Realizing he had misspoken, Qi Yuan immediately laughed and smoothed things over, saying, "Right, right, you're right. My mistake. Regardless, being able to do charity and help people in need makes it a meaningful race."

After reaching the track, Qi Yuan shared Jiang Cheng's proposal, and naturally, no one had any objections.

An entry fee of ten thousand yuan per race was just pocket change to these Second-generation rich, but if that money was pooled for charity, it could truly help many people.

Now was the actual track familiarization time. Everyone could freely choose the car they wanted to drive to get used to the track first.

Jiang Cheng chose a Porsche 911 GT3 (992), ran two laps to familiarize himself with the path, and then came back down.

Wang Congcong chose a 918, the car he was most familiar with.

Qi Yuan chose a Porsche 963.

Qiao Yinyin chose the standard 911 that Jiang Cheng had mentioned.

After everyone had been running for about twenty minutes, the race officially began.

"Today's race will still use the prize system. The registration fee for each person per round is ten thousand yuan. In the end, it will be donated to the Shanghai Orphanage in the winner's name. The first round begins now; those who want to participate can sign up."

As the first round was a warm-up race, most people signed up to participate.

The track could accommodate over a dozen cars starting at once, and the starting times and calculations were very fair. Different cars had different start times; after all, the 0-100 km/h times for a 911 and a 918 are different.

This way, the overall race remained fair after running a lap.

Since the first lap was just for fun, Jiang Cheng didn't push himself. He finished a lap very casually and then got out...
