Chapter 273 - Lin Qingxues Troubles

If only she and Lin Qingxue were left right now, Jiang Cheng would probably lose control.

He'd pin her straight to the bed and grind hard against her, letting her taste society's wickedness.

After all, Jiang Cheng was a good man; forcing himself on a girl fit his persona perfectly—only the location was wrong.

Lin Qingxue's initiative left Wang Jian and the others feeling sour inside.

They hadn't expected their new roommate to be so awesome that such a pretty senior would wait on him hand and foot.

Nowadays the gender ratio in society was out of balance.

An average guy who found a decent girl would hold her carefully in the palm of his hand.

Who would act like Jiang Cheng, making her run around while he showed no tender care for the fairer sex?

All three were silently griping in their hearts.

When everything was done, Lin Qingxue told Jiang Cheng to bring up the pillowcase.

Suddenly she spotted a line of tiny print beside the pillow.

It read "3 w's dot…" Lin Qingxue stared at it, puzzled.

"Jiang Cheng, there's something right above where you sleep; the mark looks old—probably left by a senior."

With that she slipped her phone strap off and typed the URL.

She muttered as she keyed it in.

"Looks like a website. Could it be a thesis link left by a senior? Pass me my phone, let me see."

Jiang Cheng's face changed at her mention of it.

"Senior, I'd advise you not to…"

Before he could finish, Lin Qingxue's cheeks flushed visibly red.

With a squeak she slammed the screen shut and buried her face in Jiang Cheng's quilt.

Curiosity killed the cat, indeed.

After glimpsing the site's content, Lin Qingxue couldn't face Jiang Cheng at all.

On the bed she pressed her head deep into his quilt.

Who could guess it was a "learn foreign languages" site?

One glance at those covers and poses and she could already picture a flood of "yamete" scenes.

No wonder Jiang Cheng had tried to stop her.

But did that mean Jiang Cheng had watched it too? He stood by the bunk, watching her with a half-smile.

He said nothing, just looked at her quietly.

Anything spoken now would be awkward.

Explaining or comforting could easily seem sleazy.

Besides, they were still in that ambiguous stage where the window-paper hadn't been pierced.

Hidden under the quilt, Lin Qingxue listened intently.

After ages she still heard nothing from Jiang Cheng.

Recalling the image she'd glimpsed, smelling his quilt and remembering his eight-pack, her heart thumped wildly.

She didn't know what to do; should she just play dead and slip away from this mortifying scene?

Seconds ticked by; still no sound from Jiang Cheng, so she finally lifted her head in resignation.

With others in the dorm she couldn't stay in his quilt much longer.

Slowly she raised her head and sneaked a peek at him.

Seeing his half-smiling gaze made her even shyer; what did his silence mean?

Yet Jiang Cheng was so handsome—just a few seconds of eye contact set her heart racing.

She clutched her pounding heart and gave him a coy glare.

Shamefaced, she asked, "Stinky junior, have you already seen it?"

Jiang Cheng didn't answer directly: "Let's just say last year's senior was a very 'considerate' senior."

Some auras are built invisibly.

The old Jiang Cheng would have been just as shy.

Being caught browsing such things by a goddess was bound to be awkward.

Since he didn't deny it, Lin Qingxue's cheeks blazed scarlet again.

She quickly neatened her hair and climbed down from his bed.

"Enough—I'm heading back. Once you finish that form let me know; I'll stamp it and take it to the Counselor."

After stepping down she kept her head lowered, unable to meet his eyes.

After a hurried goodbye to Wang Jian and the others, she left the boys' dorm.

She'd swooped in today to deliver the form precisely so Jiang Cheng couldn't refuse her.

Though strapped for cash, she'd still splurged on four milk teas to butter up his roommates.

She'd meant to boost her goodwill in his eyes.

Who knew she'd run into this?

She fretted over what Jiang Cheng must think of her now.

If her mother hadn't fallen ill, Lin Qingxue wouldn't have rushed to find a boyfriend.

Half a year ago her mother had developed severe kidney disease—uremia.

uremia is a costly illness.

Though emergency care saved her mother's life,

months of hospital bills and treatments had drained the family's savings.
