Chapter 337 - An Xin's Past

An Xin also quieted down, her face darkening as she lectured Annie.

Not long after entering the amusement park, before they could even start experiencing anything, two people who looked like a high-value couple were seen with dark faces, lecturing a little kid.

The family of three's incredible looks caused passersby to frequently turn their heads to look.

Seeing Jiang Cheng and An Xin were angry, Annie immediately acted spoiled and said, "Papa Jiang, Mama, don't be angry anymore. I won't run around anymore. Take me to ride the roller coaster, okay? I haven't played on it in a long time."

As she spoke, her watery eyes even blinked with aggrieved tears.

Seeing this, Jiang Cheng and An Xin sighed helplessly at the same time.

Jiang Cheng put Annie down: "Don't run around again, and I'll take you to ride the roller coaster."

Hearing Jiang Cheng say this, Annie immediately jumped up on the spot.

Holding Jiang Cheng and An Xin's hands, she couldn't wait to run toward the roller coaster.

Looking at Annie's lively personality, Jiang Cheng couldn't help but sigh again; for a naughty child like Annie to grow up safely, her luck must be quite good.

Arriving at the roller coaster area in the children's section, the line was noticeably shorter.

After all, compared to the bumper cars and the carousel, the roller coaster was clearly a bit more thrilling.

Although it was a children's roller coaster with less height and impact, it was still quite scary for many kids.

But Annie was different from the other children; after finishing the line, she quickly jogged over and sat in the front row with an expectant look.

And she obediently buckled her seatbelt with the help of the staff.

Her smiling face indeed showed no sign of fear at all.

While other little friends clamored that they would never play again after getting off, Annie played three times in a row, until finally, Jiang Cheng's face darkened and she reluctantly moved on to other attractions.

Looking at the unusually brave Annie, An Xin said helplessly to Jiang Cheng, "This child has probably been spoiled by me since she was little. Now her courage is growing, and she's becoming harder to teach."

Jiang Cheng nodded in agreement and said, "I can see that. This child's personality is nothing like yours."

Seeing Jiang Cheng being so direct, An Xin covered her mouth and laughed, then said softly.

"Actually, Annie isn't my..." Halfway through, An Xin seemed to realize she had let something slip.

"Annie isn't your child, is she?" Jiang Cheng asked, following An Xin's lead.

Looking at Jiang Cheng's handsome face, An Xin's heart wavered a bit.

Having been single for so many years, this was the first time she had some feelings for a man.

After a few seconds, An Xin began to talk about her past.

"I've never told anyone about this. Back then, I was studying finance at a school abroad. I had a very good friend. A boy in our class kept pursuing her, but she didn't agree. Once, our school held a dance, and they drank together. Later, I don't know what happened, but after one glass, she was drunk..."

After saying that, An Xin added, "She usually has a very high tolerance for alcohol."

Hearing this, Jiang Cheng naturally understood the hidden implications.

Seeing the look in Jiang Cheng's eyes turn dark, An Xin said again, "Later, she committed suicide after giving birth to Annie, and then I raised Annie."

Jiang Cheng looked in Annie's direction: "No wonder Annie doesn't look like you at all."

From the beginning, Jiang Cheng had doubts about the resemblance between Annie and An Xin.

Because Annie's eyes were clearly brown.

The key point was that An Xin's privacy value was 0.

An Xin paused, then continued.

"Yes, her mother and father are both Foreigners. Actually, I didn't want to adopt Annie at first, but I'm the only girl in my family. Growing up, there were many people around me who wanted a marriage alliance. Plus, her father wasn't a good person, so I just went with the flow and raised her."

After saying this, An Xin didn't continue, clearly because these unpleasant memories stirred up the hatred in her heart.

"So that's the reason. I'm just a bit curious, what about Annie's father? How is he now?"

An Xin knew what Jiang Cheng meant; she had already witnessed Jiang Cheng's strength back in Tyrande.

An Xin restrained the ruthlessness on her face and said slowly, "His luck was very bad. After Annie's mother committed suicide, he suddenly got into a car accident the next day."

A car accident? Jiang Cheng found this move very familiar.

But it was also a good result.

Jiang Cheng felt that a man could be a scumbag, but he couldn't be evil.

It was obvious that this was intentional; passing out drunk after just one glass of wine?

It was very clear that the other party had been drugged.

Jiang Cheng didn't express any opinion on the course of events, only saying lightly, "He's dead? That's letting that scum off too easily."

After speaking about this, An Xin felt much better.

"Although Annie isn't my biological child, I've doted on her all these years. Even though she's a bit naughty, she's usually very obedient." An Xin sounded a bit lacking in confidence.

Then she added, "Especially when she's with you, she's even more well-behaved and obedient."

After hearing An Xin's experience, Jiang Cheng felt a bit sorry for the woman in front of him.

Instead of continuing the heavy topic, Jiang Cheng smiled and couldn't help but pinch An Xin's cheek. "You, you're just too indulgent with her. Even though she's not your child, for her own good in the future, you still need to be a bit stricter."
