Chapter 343 - A Hint of Jealousy

"A Media Company? Which area are you planning to enter?" Chen Xueer asked curiously.

"An Internet-Celebrity Media Company."

Chen Xueer nodded. "Not bad—that's worth investing in. Domestic influencer economics is still murky and unregulated, but while everything else is sluggish, the Influencer Economy keeps growing…"

Listening to her, Jiang Cheng's eyes flickered with admiration.

Jiang Cheng's optimism about the Influencer Economy came from memories of his reborn life; Chen Xueer had reached the same conclusion through her own sharp insight.

If the two were compared, Chen Xueer's analytical edge was clearly superior.

"We're on the same page." Jiang Cheng looked at her appreciatively.

"By the way, you also own Xingchen Entertainment, right?"

Jiang Cheng nodded.

Chen Xueer continued, "Actually, as the Influencer Economy expands, celebrities gain an extra path. Their advantage is high public recognition, so breaking into the influencer circle is easier for them than for ordinary people. The downside is that it chips away at their mystique…"

Jiang Cheng agreed. "Once Xiaoxiao has some free time in a while, I'll have her move Xingchen Entertainment over. When the Media Company is up and running they can interact—no rush for now."

The lease Yu Xiaoxiao signed for Xingchen Entertainment's offices ran three years, and with several new rookies recently signed the firm was in a busy growth phase, so Jiang Cheng wasn't pressing her to relocate.

Hearing him call another woman so intimately, Chen Xueer tasted A Hint of Jealousy. "Xiaoxiao? Looks like I have quite a few sisters…"

Jiang Cheng chuckled. "So you'd like to be sisters with them?"

Used to his teasing, Chen Xueer gave a deliberately charming glance. "I don't mind. Chairman Jiang is so busy; having a few sisters to chat and complain about our boss together would be nice. I just wonder if they're willing to accept me…"

"Don't worry—Xiaoxiao is very generous. You'll see."

Chen Xueer didn't know who Xiaoxiao was, but when Jiang Cheng spoke her name his lips curved in a smile.

That tiny detail stirred an odd feeling inside her.

She didn't realize the feeling was called jealousy.

Unwilling to dwell on it, she simply knew she wanted to drop the topic.

So she shifted gears. "By the way, how are you handling Luo Jia? The funds you requested have been approved, the Distillery's being set up, and this morning I checked her progress report—nothing looked off…"

Jiang Cheng nodded. "I'll have someone keep an eye on her. You keep pretending you know nothing."

Chen Xueer nodded. "Understood."

After a few more words Jiang Cheng left the office without lingering.

He took the elevator down to the 26th Floor.

The doors opened onto a spacious office where two young men sat holding briefcases.

They seemed deep in discussion.

Seeing Jiang Cheng enter, they immediately stood and greeted him respectfully.

"Chairman Jiang!"

Jiang Cheng nodded at them. "Sit."

Their names were Xie Bing and Shen Zheng.

They would head Xingchen Media as its top management.

Assigned by the system, they were thoroughly professional in media operations.

Jiang Cheng left all company matters in their hands.

Like Chen Xueer and Zhao Linger, they had proved capable, so Jiang Cheng trusted them completely.

He scanned them with the Character Scanning System: both showed a loyalty of 120 points without question.

The three sat on chairs near the Reception Desk.

As the boss, Jiang Cheng opened. "You two have introduced yourselves?"

Xie Bing and Shen Zheng nodded. "Yes, Chairman Jiang—we gave each other a quick rundown just now."

Jiang Cheng nodded approvingly. "Good. You've toured the Office Floor; this level will serve as Xingchen Media's headquarters."

"I've already purchased this entire office building. This floor has 1,500 square meters of interior space. Aside from the private offices, this main hall can accommodate nearly a hundred people. From now on, the day-to-day management will be in your hands."

Jiang Cheng continued, "Upstairs there's also Xingchen Investment Company, which is also my business. Later, an entertainment company will move in as well. All three companies belong to Xingchen. If anything comes up, you can communicate with each other."

The two of them immediately nodded in agreement when they heard Jiang Cheng say this.

Jiang Cheng had looked over their résumés; the résumés were naturally impressive.

But today was their first meeting, and Jiang Cheng still wanted to hear their current thoughts.

"Right now the company's basic framework consists of only the two of you. I'd like to hear what you plan to do next?" Jiang Cheng tossed the question directly to them.

Seeing Jiang Cheng looking at them, Xie Bing spoke first. "First is the company registration issue, followed by office renovation. We just took a look—the layout here is good and doesn't need major changes. The overall color scheme works, and the hardware is comprehensive. For now we just need to buy some office furniture and we can move in."

Shen Zheng nodded in agreement. "Xie Bing is right. The office location is the first priority. Once the furniture is purchased, we can start recruiting and interviewing staff."

"The second issue after registration is manpower. Right now it's just Xie Bing and me; we can't operate at all."

"Although influencer media looks simple, it actually requires a basic company structure—at minimum seven departments: HR, Operations, PR, Finance, Legal, Planning, and Tech. Recruiting and screening relevant personnel is the top priority."

"Only after we have the right people can we start promoting our influencers."

Jiang Cheng said, "In China we have no shortage of people. As a vast country, so long as the pay is right, this isn't hard—just time-consuming. If you're overwhelmed with renovation and hiring, I'll send HR from Xingchen Investment to help."

When they heard this, Xie Bing and Shen Zheng breathed a sigh of relief.

After all, handling procurement and interviews at the same time would be too much for just two people.

"Thank you, Chairman Jiang."

Jiang Cheng simply waved his hand.

Xingchen Investment was already running smoothly, and HR didn't have much work at the moment, so they could fill the gap at the Media Company. It was just one floor up—very convenient.

"I'll reserve the space on both the upper and lower floors. If we expand later, we can incorporate them."

Hearing this, the two were a bit surprised.

They hadn't expected Jiang Cheng to have such high expectations for them.

Most media companies on the market were small-scale operations.

Many were tiny firms of just two or three hundred square meters.

Most signed a few small influencers or ran a single guild.

But listening to Jiang Cheng's plan, it seemed he wasn't stopping there.

A hundred-person office and still planning to expand—how many influencers did he intend to promote?

After the surprise, they quickly nodded. "Thank you for your trust, Chairman Jiang. We'll do our best to manage the company well and expand as soon as possible."

"All right, I'll have someone handle the registration. In the next couple of days I'll send people over for renovation. You'll be in charge of directing the renovation and recruitment."

Seeing Jiang Cheng acting like a hands-off boss, the two could only nod in agreement.

Who told them they were just employees?

"I'd like to hear your thoughts on the company's next big direction."

When Jiang Cheng asked again, Xie Bing said, "I heard Chairman Jiang has already chosen our first influencer. My view is that before her fame rises, relying on her alone is far from enough. Either we cultivate new influencers internally, or we scout and sign different types of new influencers to form our first generation and start online trial promotions."

Shen Zheng added, "Xie Bing and I were just discussing that as a new Media Company we need to quickly establish contact and cooperation with domestic self-media platforms. Apps like TikTok, Social Media Platform, and Kuaishou are essential for us to maintain good relationships with."
