Chapter 478 - If You Had to Choose, Who Would It Be?

The moment I walked out they crowded around me firing questions. I only told the truth—their idol isn't some saint either. When the fans weren't looking he tried to add me on wechat; I refused, so they lost it and started slinging mud at me.

Jiang Cheng rolled his eyes. "What the hell? Is that guy even better-looking than me?"

Yu Xiaoxiao thought for a second, then shook her head in distaste. "Not even close. Little Handsome, your face is literally one in a hundred."

"If you ever debuted you'd wipe the floor with half those male celebs who rely on styling. I've seen that one on TV—he photographs okay, but in person? Meh."

"And from what I can tell, without make-up and lighting he'd be nothing special. Plus he was wearing hidden heel lifts—barely 175 cm. He can't compete with a natural-born stunner like you."

Yu Xiaoxiao had been working in entertainment since graduation; she could recite an idol's raw specs and entire packaging process in her sleep.

One glance told her who had genuine potential and who was smoke and mirrors.

When she finished, the girls beside them paled and opened their mouths to defend their idol.

But the words died the instant they saw Jiang Cheng's face—there was no arguing with that.

If Jiang Cheng ever joined the industry they'd stan him in a heartbeat.

All three were hard-core fangirls.

They could spot every luxury brand an idol endorsed at a glance.

The moment they saw Jiang Cheng they clocked his upscale outfit and the limited-edition watch on his wrist.

After exchanging looks they shut up, crestfallen.

"Looks like you rate me pretty highly. So if I ask for your wechat, will you say yes?"

Yu Xiaoxiao arched a brow.

She had no idea what Jiang Cheng was scheming.

Still, seeing his wicked grin, she played along. "Sure—but if I add you, you'll go shopping with me later, right? Solo shopping is boring."

Jiang Cheng shrugged. "Just shopping? No problem."

Yu Xiaoxiao cooed, "And after that you'll take me to dinner, then see me home."

"Home? To do what exactly?"

She pondered. "I want you home to be my beast of burden."

Jiang Cheng laughed and readily agreed, lifting her chin. "Deal—just provide the grass and I'll gladly work like an ox."

It took her a second to catch the double meaning; she shot him a coy glance, cheeks flushing.

She prided herself on composure, and after all the wild times they'd shared she thought nothing could fluster her—yet his public teasing still made her heart race.

Every man in the café who'd been eyeing Yu Xiaoxiao burned with indignation.

"Damn, that punk's so crude—how dare he talk dirty to a beauty like her? I'm furious."

"What filth! If I were her I'd slap him across the face."

"Hell, I regret not stepping up earlier—now that punk's tainted the goddess."

Seeing her bashful look, Jiang Cheng waved his phone. "So, gorgeous, good bargain—add me and I'll head home to be your ox."

The three girls they'd ignored piped up at once:

"Handsome, ever think of debuting? Add us—no shopping required. We'll even provide the 'grass' anytime you want."

"If you join the industry I'll be your first stan, and I'm available for 'grazing' too."

"Exactly—we'd be your loyal fans, and I'm fine with one-on-three."

Their heated stares made Jiang Cheng frown; he slipped the phone back into his pocket.

Now he understood—these were textbook crazy fangirls.

He'd read plenty of horror stories: once, Yang Lijuan's obsession with Andy Lau ruined her family—she even tried to drown herself when denied concert tickets, while her dad sold their house and scavenged for cash to fund her craze.

When Jay Chou announced a two-year hiatus, another fan swallowed thirty sleeping pills on the spot, scaring the singer half to death.

Jiang Cheng smiled at them. "Let me ask—if you had to choose between your idol and me, who would you pick?"

The three hesitated.

One glanced at the others, bashful. "You, of course. My idol's handsome, but you're taller and hotter."

Once the first betrayed, the rest followed suit.

"Right, we know he's only 175 cm, but you're at least 180—and you look… bigger."

"Yeah, I used to love him, but now I think I like you more."

Jiang Cheng was speechless—fangirls really will say anything.

He pressed on: "So if others had to pick, who would they choose—you three with your dusty sneakers and slogan boards, or this stunning beauty in front of me?"

"And shouldn't you be at work on a weekday? You look like you graduated ages ago."

At that the trio stared at their scuffed sneakers, shame-faced.
